Ello,

I have a kilij and uchigatana both sitting at +3 just now. Is it worthwhile upgrading them to 4 and I seem to have options on what path to take, how do they work?

Both the kilij and uchigatana would benefit most in terms of damage (if your dexterity is high), if you started from +0 and went through the "sharp" path--using bladestones farmed in world 4. However, chunks and pure bladestones are rare. The other good path (that starts at +3), is "tearing". Damage still benefits from dexterity, but it starts lower than in the sharp path. However, you get a greater "bleeding" special effect and suckerstones are much easier to find.

ntrailz, it really depends on your character's levels.

-Pure magic-based users should go for Crescent (which is offered at uchi/kilji +6)
-Magic and str/dex-based users should go for Moon (offered at uchi/kilji+6)
-Dex-based users should go for Sharp (uchi/kilji+0) or Tearing (uchi/kilji+3)

So on. But the above ugrades are most common.
