So I'm making a list for the most frequently asked questions.
Q1: How do I use magic/miracles?
A: In order to use magic or miracles you must use their corresponding caster item. Miracles require a talisman, Magic Requires a Catalyst. There is also a special item that allows the usage of both. With this equipped in either the left or right hand the spell shown at the top is the spell you will cast if you press the corresponding L1 or R1 button. In order to set the spells you must first purchase them from an NPC in the Nexus, Saint Urbain and Disciple of God sell miracles. Frekes Apprentice, Sage Freke, and Yuria sell magic. After purchasing the spells you need to have enough slots open to equip them using the "Remember Miracle/Spell" option which the NPCs who sell the spells have in their dialogue, and you have to have enough MP.
Q2: What is Character Tendency
A: It's a reflection of whether or not your an evil or good person. It's only noticeable game influence is that it is required to be full evil or full good to obtain certain rings and quests.
Q3: What is World Tendency
A: World Tendency is a reflection of whether the forces of good, or evil, are most prevalent in an area. It is required to be almost full on either side to make certain monsters, npcs, items, or passageways accessible. Also in black world tendency monsters are harder, but have better drops and give more souls, also Black Phantoms receive bonuses in black tendency . In white tendency monsters are weaker, drops aren't as common, and give less souls, Blue Phantoms also receive bonuses in this mode. You also recieve these bonuses as a phantom in your own games.
Q4: How do I invite my friends to play with me
A: The game has a few requirements for this. First off you can only summon someone in physical form, and you can only summon people in spirit form. You also cannot summon phantoms in an area you have beaten the boss of. You can be summoned into anyones game that has not beaten their boss though. Lastly you have to fall within a certain range of SL which follows this formula (Current Soul Level/10)+/-10=Invite Range. So if your SL is 100 you can invite anyone within 20 levels of you, at 50 you can invite anyone within 15 levels of.
Q5: How do I play offline
A: To play offline you simply need to logoff your PSN ID before loading your Demon's Souls game. Once the game has loaded you can log back in and remain offline. You can also play offline by simply disconnecting your PS3 from the internet.
Q6: Is there voice chat
A: Unfortunately no there is not, one of the games shortcomings as an ON/Off option would have been great rather then simply excluding it.
Q7: How do I give "Twinklys" to the crow lady in 4-1
A: You have to go into your inventory and drop the item on the ground, if she likes it she'll give you an approval message. After this leave the area and come back, or load your game. The item she gives you in return will be at the base of her tree.
Q8: I beat the Tower Knight in 1-2, it won't let me progress, saying the fog requires an Arch Demon soul, what's wrong?
A: Nothing the game requires you to go to another area outside chapter 1. You have to clear the final boss of any other chapter to be able to advance into 1-3.
