This morning a BP invaded my world and by his attire i knew it was a mage. So before he was able to cast any spell on me i used anti magic. He then takes out his Tower Shield and his Kiji Sword. I bring out my Large Sword of Moonlight +5 and my Dark Silver Shield +5 and the BP left my world without me even swinging my sword. LMAO

I have other stories to tell, but that was the most recent one. I want to hear other player's stories.

As soon as they saw each other they paniced and rolled, straight off the cliff. I laughed so hard at their epic battle!! Brilliant

Mine was last night, and it got me an angry message calling me a 'Cheater' and to 'Fight Fair' next time.

Here's the set up: The BP invades as me and some random person are doing 1-3 (I love this level, honestly). We're clearing out the armored soldiers just before the three red eyed knights - pretty standard with some bow work. We see the message of the phantom invading. Both me, and the player stopped. We did the standard game of 'wait for the Black Phantom'. But I took it a step further and equipped both Thief and Graverobbers Ring. The black phantom came running up to the gate, which we hadn't opened and saw the player. He didn't see me because he did some brash taunting that no BP does when he knows he's outnumbered. Then he runs through the level. As my player goes to kill the Minister while he waits for the BP, I run up the side stairs next to the gate, and get around the corner.

As the gate opened the BP comes hurtling down the alleyway, Meat Cleaver and Purple Flame Shield in hand. He runs right past me, and towards the player. I hop down, and start laughing. This queues my girlfriend into looking at the screen, because normally you curse at Demon Souls - not laugh. The phantom is chasing after my partner for all he's worth and the player slows down and pulls his shield up.

The black phantom reaches the player and gets ready to swing!

Right as I catch up to him from my sprint from behind, stabbing him through the back and killing him.

It was hilarious watching a bait and lure tactic work so well.

Yesterday took out 3 players per game on 2 invade games in a role. Confident start peaking, and got KO perfect on the next one on one match by a Host. Ironic.

Two days ago I invaded the same person 6 times IN A ROW on 4-2. I killed him 5 out of 6 times, the last time when he had a Blue Phantom with him.

In the last fight, both of them trapped me down near the golden skeletons. After a bit of arrows flying back and forth, I got bored and ran up to fight them. I killed the Blue Phantom with an almost accidental backstab, which sent the host running away. At which point I caught up and backstabbed him too.

I was laughing so hard.

I was using an exploit to farm the primeval demon in 2-1 (stab him 6 times with my dagger down to minimal health, then invade as black phantom and place the final stab just before the load screen comes up).

I need to die, preferably by the host or his blues, to make this work. Usually they are more than happy to oblige. I do make it look like I am putting up a fight though :)

Anyhow, so one time I run around 2-1 and look for the host. He is up on a ledge, a ghostlike figure obviously cloaking himself with everything the game offers. I shoot at arrow at him. He hugs a corner. I shoot another. He jumps down. I go after him, lock on, circle strafe and continue to shoot arrows every once in a while (how's that for melee!!). He manages to get a spell in but I constantly have to remind me not to kill him.

Then, he runs :o

Past a bunch of dregglings out to by Ed's elevator. It almost feels like he refuses to attack me...

So I dance around him, not attacking b/c he is obviously panicking - his health is really low at this point.

Ultimately I manage to get him to shoot some soul something spells at me but he misses. When I stand still, he runs away though. What to do what to do..? Not having a good answer I keep dancing around him and eventually he hits me a couple of times and I return to find that the demon hadn't dropped his friggen colorless soul :)

My funny stories all involve weird stuff happening to blue phantoms in my games.

My friend Ice fell through the floor when we entered the Old Heros room, killing him.

Another friend of mine got killed by the Tower Knight right when I killed it, it still counted and he revived, got souls, and got rated.

I invaded a guy in 3-1. We had this long battle in one of the stairways that must've lasted 10 minutes at least. We were back and forth, healing, rolling, switching places. I thought it was a great battle.
Turns out we were very evenly matched. We killed each other at the exact same time. No reward for either of us, I guess -
So he PMs me over the PSN with a simple message "Biggest Douche of the Year Award"
I write him back "Hey, thanks man."

My most embarrassing thing I've ever done was on my first playthrough with my 'thief'

ANYWAY, it was right after the first reaper at 4-2. The three skeleton group out on the little ledge. Everytime I'd get the first skele's attention, he'd roll up to me, attack, I'd block, he'd reel backwards, I'd attack and try to combo and mid combo he would always roll sideways off the edge. My continued combo resulted me attacking off the edge to my death.

Now, that doesn't [I]sound bad, but I did it like 5 times before I finally caught on.
I'm such a failure.

Some good ones in this thread so far..:D Mine happened about an hour ago. I get summoned and then there is message sent to me that says "follow me". Ok so I follow him into Flamelurker's lair. He and his buddy decide to hide behind the bones where you first walk through the fog on the left side. I almost had Flamelurker down but those other 2 just kept standing there. I figured it out that when he sent me the message, he wanted me to just stand there and gawk at the boss from the supposed safety of the bones. So I start to make my way to the bones area and Flamelurker kills the host (the one that sent the message).

Here's where it gets good. He sends me a message and says it's totally safe there and the only reason he died is because his friend attacked through the bones with a spear. He then goes to explain that it's a guaranteed free win, which I replied... "but you died..... FAIL lol" end quote. Still not satisified he has convinced me, he sends me another message that says meet me there and I'll show you. So he summons me again, we both run behind the bones, but his plan goes to **it immediately. Guess who comes in and kills the host in one hit, yep.....Flamelurker.... I told him he needs to come up with a better strategy...:D:D:D (I rolled out of the way and lived by the way) heh...

I have to admit I laughed a bit when I accidentally walked away from the Maiden in Black (like two steps) without choosing leave and she couldn't find me all of a sudden. She kept turning towards where I was standing but I thought it was kinda funny. :p

Here's one, I'm strafing the gold skeleton in 4-1 about to win and then I strafe off the cliff towards my death. Oh and in my NG I tried to get the item in the lava in 2-1 and burned to death. That also happened with the blue dragon in 1-1 in NG when I was like "I wonder if the tail will kill me if it hits"

This I have to share, and is quite Interesting.

When to invade on my usual pvp ground in 4-1. The dude world is Pure White, so as Black Phantom you get to see this white phantom on the door way is Satsuke.

So combat begin, the guys notice he can't put up a straight fight with me. Start spamming Death Cloud, and naturally I back off to avoid the cloud. As I pull away, I notice the cloud hit the white phantom.

Less then 10 seconds later, Satsuke join in the fight, so I get to see this White Phantom with numbers on top of the head chasing the host! And to be frank Satsuke is pretty good and fast with the slashes, fight ends in next 5 seconds.

Moral of the Story, don't pvp in pure white tendency. And If your black phantom, dodge beside Satsuke if his there and enjoy the show.

I only get about 30min of playtime in every day but over the last two days:

- I was on my way to the filthy merchant in 2-2 to buy large hardstone shards to upgrade my steel shield. I lock on to the official at the beginning of the level, begin to strafe, and fall down the elevator shaft.

- I was playing blue phantom for a guy in 4-1 (gotta love that level!). He's missing in action. I know, bad phantom for losing the host.. I kept busy by killing the red eye and two blue eyes proceeding through the arrow trap killing goldie one then goldie two (I know bad phantom killing the whole level by himself). I get out my arrow to lure in the third goldie who usually falls off the cliff. Then, the host catches up, runs past me and ... you guessed it ... falls off the cliff. **sigh** He gave me an A inspite of my selfish performance :)

- Blue again, 4-1 again. Nothing funny this time, but the player is obviously still on her first playthrough. Everything goes down in one hit. Reminds you just how much harder the game gets in NG+!

In world 4-2 i'm level 85, summon 2 blue phantoms to assist. i've already cleared the world of enemies and need the blues to help the boss. As we move to the boss i get the msg of an invading black phantom. So we all rush to the area in the begining where you kill the first grim reaper. I have a blueblood sword with high vitality, luck and faith. I do light enchant on it and equip my 9+ kite shield. The blackphantom see's us and starts to swing his northern regalia ( i think that is what he used) and with two swings takes out both blue phantoms. I charge him, three swings and he dies.

I look around find two more people to summon and again....another black phantom. I catch him around the spawn, 5 swings and he disconnects (grrrrR). anyways as we head down towards the boss.....another Black phantom invades. Now im getting tired of this so i rush for the boss. Right before i get to the boss area, I get three messages, one that says the Black phantom was defeated an two saying my two blue phantoms have died........My only assumption is that they all fell to their deaths.

Okay, so I invaded 4-1 the other day, around level 100. I come in with no armor on (some person was previously acid clouding me), and I run towards the host into battle. But the host is just standing there. I risk a bow, and they bow back.

I notice that the host is wearing ragged female clothing, and one of those saucer shaped helmets. She's also slinging two pickaxes. At this point she takes a pickaxe and begins mining the wall, smacking it over and over again, ignoring me. After a few minutes, I join in by whacking the wall with my meat cleaver.

Eventually we end up fighting for a little, at which point she pulls out two LSOM and kicks my ass all up and down 4-1. One of my worst losses.

I haven't had too many funny stories yet, but there was one satisfying black phantom encounter on my first run through 1-2 when my very vulnerable mage (who hadn't yet learned any powerful spells) managed to defeat an invader in the full Brushwood set. I rushed out to engage him right in the middle of the first bridge, so the red dragon would repeatedly torch us both. The difference was that I'd cast Water Veil and was able to shrug off most of the damage, while he just seemed to panic and, since I pinned him down with repeated attacks, he died on the third roasting.

I'd forgotten at the time that death by dragon fire would've caused him to lose a soul level, so when I was done laughing I felt a little guilty about that.

Didnt know if anyone has done this before but i had a good day that time....
Me and my fellow phantoms (gimenenko, the other whom died honourably before i had the chance to ask his name) were fighting tower knight melee. Since its a +new game the battle was intense. We couldnt afford to make mistake so the tension was high. Moments past, one of my comrade was stomped. Out of balance, he couldnt dodge another attack and died. We pinned the knight at corner and continue to slash its legs hoping it would bring the knight down so we can chop its head. But then..it landed its head on the corner so we have to chop elsewhere. I started with the usual leg part. I couldnt did as much damage compare to the head. I check my other phantom and see what she was doing.....My eyes open wide and jaw dropped for a moment when i saw her smacking the knight's apple then followed by a ROFL. The attack animation looks like she was slapping it (hmm!! how u like it huh u big ass knight messing with our fren.)

I had a somewhat funny experience where I was invaded in 1-4 by some dude wearing the monk's head wrapping... as soon as I got close he cast anti-magic. Let's just say, it was a very, very short fight. He then invaded again, and did it again... Maybe he thought he could cast anti magic and still use his own spells?

mmm, It's quite embarrassing for me, couple times at 4-1 I got over excited facing an adequate player 1 vs 1 and became dodging-happy to feel his attack pattern out around the stairs after the first gate. Needlessly to say, I fell after 2 consecutive backward rolls and lost a soul level. :(

I spammed blackstone afterward hoping to find the same player again but no luck throughout the night.

I think at some point I was very stingy about using Sticky White stuff buff during invasion that I would only use it during 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3. Once I got backstabbled and kicked off the cliff while applying the buff too late.T_T..

I invaded a players world and after a bit of a cat and mouse game, she fired a few fire balls at me and almost killed me...I heal up and come back and almost kill her with some vicious swipes from mister makoto, she runs closer to the reapers after the gold duo skellies...just before I can back stab her she pulls the plug and I am denied her body of flesh. I go back to my game and invade as a black phantom again...I get the same exact player!! Another cat and mouse scenario ensues... I give her credit for not pulling the plug immediately... I chase her up the stairs and backstab her half way up...I throw her remains down the stairwell...she doesn't pull the plug this time. Kudos. Karma can be a bitch heh heh.

One of my first times invading I was going to be courteous. It was 4-1, I invaded and I see a guy and a blue phantom run out. They both had cast warding. I stop to bow, midway through my bow they are both still running at me. They get up to me, I think they are still going to bow and wham, they both clobber me with DBS. I was laughing so much that I didn't get mad. It looked pretty dumb me bowing while they are running full speed.

My first funny story comes from first play threw first char ever made a Temple Knight. I was summoned as a blue phantom in 1-2. As I emerging into the game the host rolls threw my body a split seconds later a Black Phantom back stabs me down to 1 hp. The Black phantom must have thought I was dead, he started chaseing the host.

A quick heal and useing Turpintine on my +3 Halebeard swiching to 2 handed I chased after them as fast as my 90% encumberment would allow. I caught up to the Black Phantom just before the first bridge section as he was waiting for the dragon to swoop down before chaseing the host. I back stabbed him kicked him forward just as the dragon started its swoop. I dont know if my stab killed him or the dragon.


My second story is I had just helped someone beat the 2-1 boss. I respawned back in my world in body form the load in was strangly long. As I started up the stairs from the Arch stone I see a Black Phantom with a Meat Cleaver standing on the top. I proceeded to get launched to the Primevil Demon spawn point. Yeah physics engine glitch.

One of the most awesome moments was when I had to chase a BP down when he realized he was outnumber and was losing the battle.

I was on my NG+ and playing 1-2 with 2 blue phantoms. It was at the top of the second lookout tower when we got invaded. At that point we decided to wait there in the second tower for the BP to show up. Somehow, some way, the BP manage to meet us there and took us off guard. After a brief battle, the BP decides to retreat into the tunnels below the lookout tower.

We follow him to one end of the tunnel (where the vendor is) and had somewhat of another battle. It was kind of cramp and the BP manage to roll away from us and sprint at full force toward the other end of the tunnel.

So next thing we know, me and the other two blue phantoms are chasing a BP to the other end of the tunnel. Of course, we all eventually met up at the end of the tunnel. By some miracle, the BP managed to evade our attacks once again and sprint full force away and to the other end of the tunnel.

I'm quite amazed how fast and agile that BP was. However this time, I managed to catch up to the BP and got close enough for a backstab while we were both sprinting. I suppose I caught him off guard since I was wearing a brushwood armor and didn't think I could catch up.

The BP survived the backstab and had to chase him down once more to finish him off. All in all, it was a pretty funny invasion, as I was pretty much screaming at my friend (blue phantom) on the phone while we were chasing the BP down. I felt kinda bad as it was somewhat of an unfair battle, but it was pretty damn hilarious.

Oh man... I have funny stories for days in DS. A local buddy and I usually play together while being on the phone. My first funny encounter was when I was first playing through 4-1, we did just kill the first two silver skeleton archer who are on top of the archway before fighting Vanguard. As I was wearing down the Vanguard from afar with arrows a BP invaded my world. My buddy was like "ok..stand in plain site so he can see only you whiles I hide behind the wall here". The BP was a female character wearing the light amour(black leather I think it was), anyway she was very agile. As she approched I cast protect and then turpentine up my wingtip spear. Her and I went at it for about 15 seconds and as she strife in the direction of my friend, he caught her will a backstab by surprise. All of a sudden the BP bad ass agile attacking switched to back peddling and judo rolles away from us. I was laughing my head off and both of us were in somewhat heavy amour so we couldn't keep up with her that much. But we did manage to interrupt her trying to use the white stone twice...but on her last attempt she ran a good distance before using it and was able to leave (and live) by the skin on her behind. I couldn't stop laughing... that was why she actually got away really. We were laughing and trying to catch her at the same time. That incident has us "rofl"-in' for about 5mins after the event :lol: .. I would pay money to relive that moment. An then there was another night of laughs when we were going through 1-3 and my world got invaded about 7 times in that one stage...we set up ambush in the same spots where the three assissins on the starecase usually hide. No one lived that night, everyone got waxed royally.... my friend and I were already in the know of what to do and having more than decent weapons and spells. That was jokes all night... I truely love that game.

I"m pretty noobish. SL 35 I believe. So I haven't had too many experiences with Black or blue phantoms. I did attempt to get help from a blue phantom on 5-1. I summoned the dude at the fog before the boss. We bow to each other etc..then I enter the fog...the guy doesn't follow then proceeds to message me asking where I went! lol WTF? I ended up destroying that demon on my first try so I messaged him back saying "I went to fight the boss, where did you expect me to go? I thought I needed your help...but I thought wrong."

Farming the hidden black skeleton in 4-2.

He and I are on friendly terms after all the hundreds of times we've met each other. High five, a few jokes, heck if it fits our schedule there might be a quick how's your father before we get on to business.

After we're done, we like to have a little mexican stand off, then he moves at me slowly, attacks, I single circle roll past him, backstab and then lock on for a couple more hits.

hey worterror i was helping out someone else and you invaded twice, lol. i think black phantoms make the game a bit more fun, so far none have gotten the best of me (one likely will someday though, lol). anyways my silliest story is i get summoned into level 4-2? (after the adjudicator). and so i go storming off, figuring that the summoner must be somewhere near me, and i make it to the foggy gate, and then i look around, i'm all alone. i run back and it took me some time just to find the host and then for some reaosn he kept running around and rolling (i've noticed a couple of people doing that.. why? i do not know). so i beckon him, he sends me a message saying wait a min. so i wait and he eventually summons someone else who must have been his buddy because he also liked rolling all over the place.

so finally we headed down to where i had already cleared out all of the enemies and go through the fog. then while facing down a reaper his buddy gets bumped off again, so we have to wait.. again.

this time he told me to wait by the fog.

so i go running to the fog and wait, eventually him and his buddy come in, and we go to fight the boss, so i take off my boots to sneak around.. but apparently no one told him about that trick and he gets killed... oy

another time, i went to kill a reaper and fell off the edge and died.. good thing i summoned two phantoms to help me... sheesh

another time i was making the run to the old hero with someone and we got to the point just past the swamp with the fire slugs and flying exploding light things. and then he disconnected! what's up with that?

overall though i have had a lot of fun with the online part of the game, and helping out as a phantom can give you tips and strategies against bosses and areas that you might not explore as much when you're by yourself.

lol this is prolly the best thing that happend to me today, i invade as a black phantom, and my heros a bbs with morion blade and clever rats ring build, anyways invade this guy in 4-1 and i see that he has a 3 man crew, they were all melee with shields. so they come in attack me i dodge some things then they catch me slippin get me down to really low health( i didnt care cause i have second chance). they all try their hardest to finish me of but then i got 2 good swngs at all 3 of them at the same time, with 978 dmg they were dead for sure lmao. did my little dance over their corpses did my attempt of a t bag and got sent back to my world =)

Well, i just got the game 5 days ago, so i haven't been through alot.
But my funniest moment most be when i fighted the red eyed knight in 1-1.

I ran all the way back to the house with the stairs and we began fighting.
But just as i was going to give him the final hit, he ran over the edge and died.
I laughed so hard, as it looked like he was running from me xD

But as i said, i haven't been through that much yet (:

i know it's childish but i really do get a kick out of when people try to leave crude, sexual innuendos with their messages. stuff like "sticky white stuff" over by urbain's female disciple or once i saw "hardstone" there next to her. but my favorite was when i saw "thrust attack" over by Yuria.

they never last long, no matter how much they get recommended. makes me think that some of the ghosts i see running around are moderators or something, running about deleting messages.

Sooo my friend and I were breezing through 1-4 and got to the elevator when someone invaded. We went back down and b/c of the dragon we couldn't run out of the castle, so we decided to just stand on top of the stairs, swords and shields armed and preparations made as we get ready for an epic battle on the red carpet floor. We ended up just watching the dude fail as he gets burned by the dragon, retreats, run behind pillars, then gets burned again, etc. After about a minute he finally decides to run straight through and dies to the fire...and we were like...ooooooooooooooooook. And so we went back up the elevator and killed the boss. :D

Here's my story:

I'm standing at the beginning of 2-1, second play-through, waiting for a friend to drop his stone. I'm soon invaded, and I've got this idea in my head about throwing him off the side of the beginnig area, so I move back to where the cliff is and wait for him. He's up against the wall, across from the cliff, and he moves about half way down the wall so he's directly across from the center of the ledge. I see him begin to cast a spell, so I attempt to maneuver behind him for an easy back-stab. Well, it was God's Wrath, which I had never seen before then but had heard that it had a long cast time. That was a lie, because it took all of half a second before I moved directly beside him and was thrown off the cliff by the spell.

I usually avoid invasions now. Good idea, poor execution.

Hey people, got one that while not exactly funny was very exciting. Okay so I was in 1-4 already fighting the king when I see a message saying a black phantom has invaded, so I'm like WTH! but keep fighting Allant while keeping an eye out for a phantom to appear out of nowhere and backstab me. After a minute or two I see the phantom behind the fog going crazy trying to cross, this of course made me lol at his predicament, lol up to the point that just as I rolled out of one of Allant's attacks an enchanted Dragonbone Smasher came out of nowhere and almost hit me. Now that got my blood flowing, what followed was the most exciting boss fight I've had while playing DS, dodging the phantom's attacks while trying to not get hit by Allant either and still wailing away at the king with my meat cleaver. Thanks to the phantom I got soulsucked once (losing my nice 100 SL I planned to finish my first play-through with) and had to roll around like crazy in order to get the space to heal. In the end, I had very little health left, the phantom had practically full, and Allant was PROBABLY one hit from dying and he was charging his interruptable AoE, as such, I run up to him in hopes of making it before he finishes charging and that my last hit kills him before the phantom smashes me with his sword. So I run, and R1 attack the king just as the phantom gets there and starts to swing his DBS and hit both the king and the phantom. The king dies and the phantom goes on to kiss the floor only to get kicked from my world a second later. As I said before, best fight ever.
