Dear Atlus, have you considered bringing more mecha love to the US?
If so... please consider bringing Gundam Mobile Ops for the Xbox 360, and Gundam Senki for the PS3, over to the US.

By doing so, I think you guys could capitalize on the HUGE success of the Transformers films, not to mention the popularity of other robot-themed mainstream entertainment (the Iron Man films, Neill Blomkamp's District 9, James Cameron's Avatar, etc.). Even the Mechwarrior franchise is being rebooted :-)

I understand that Gundam games have not done that well in the US thus far.
However, these game are different than previous entries in Gundam games.

Gundam Mobile Ops is a first-person shooter in the style of the Battlefield series of games. Players can fight as an infantry soldier, drive jeeps, tanks, or control giant mobile suits. The game is primarily an online shooter game. This game is not AAA quality, but I think it would be a decent budget title if brought to the US. Plus, the game should be easy to localize since there is minimal text or dialogue that is in Japanese. English-only players who have played the game have said that the game is very easy to play without any knowledge of Japanese.

This is the game I'm really hoping Atlus can bring over. I think it has a good chance of selling many copies, unlike other Gundam games. Gundam Senki is an action game, but it also features RPG-like mechanics. You can play missions to accrue money, which is then used to buy better weapons, suits, and so forth. You can play singleplayer or multiplayer co-op to build up points. It's kinda like Demon's Souls. :-P

Here's some things Gundam Senki has going for it:
1. The game's story is totally self-contained. The characters are all new and unique to this game, and this game alone. Other Gundam games have assumed that the player had seen a Gundam anime before, and was familiar with the vast backstory and character backgrounds of the various shows. But this game will likely be enjoyed by newcomers and Gundam fans alike.

2. Great graphics w/ a high frame rate. Unlike Gundam Crossfire, this game looks good and runs good. And the gameplay appears to be refined and fun, with a veteran team of game developers behind it all.

3. Online multiplayer. No Gundam game has ever come to the US with Internet multiplayer. Online play is very popular in the US, and has helped make franchises like Call of Duty multi-million copy sellers. A Gundam game with internet play could sell a lot of copies in the US.

Gundam is bandainamco and if they dont realease them stateside then no one will unfortunatelly :(. But if you need a mecha fix there is this little addicting game called super robot wars/taisen. They are full of gundam love and once you start playing you will be addicted. So stop on over to the SRT bord it has over 1000 posts :D
but back on topic I support both these titles.

Why do people continue to suggest stuff that would present licensing issues? Been a rash of it lately...

Can't we have a rule not to suggest Namco/Bandai games? Namco/Bandai has a site, too; just go there and join their message boards to request their games.

Fragile and The Sky Crawlers were both Namco Bandai and were licensed recently by XSeed. So it's not impossible.

Though Gundam titles aren't gonna happen though I surport both games and would buy them both without a second thought.

Yeah I was under the impression that Namco Bandai sometimes has other companies bring games to the US, despite having their own US branch.

Gundam is one of their big names though... I doubt if they'd allow anyone else the right to publish or localize it.

That makes no sense. Atlus has published Bandai Namco games before, and so have some other companies.

If they worked by that logic, we would never have gotten games like Demon's Souls, Cubivore, Shining Soul 1 and 2, Monster Kingdom, Rule of Rose, Tsugunai and probably a whole bunch of other games I'm forgetting. Just because the publisher has a North American branch doesn't mean their games are completely off-limits.

That being said, these two games being published by Atlus is very unlikely.

I was referring more to the difficulty in licensing these titles due to the Gundam tie in rather than them being Namco titles.

I don't think it helped that the last one they released (the one on the PS3) was absolutely terrible. I don't think many people bothered.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - You'd have to take the Gundam license from Bamco's cold, dead hands.

And yeah, it seems like only crap Gundam games get licensed this Generation. I have no idea why this is the case.

I think it is possible for Atlus to bring it to usa because Bandi has never listen to their fan base so they would probly be ok to let Atlus to make it for usa.

I hate to sound like someone, but my friends have imported the game, and while the game itself is pretty fun, it is also an absolute DLC hell......... I'm not sure if I'd want to get into the game even if it were to get localized.

Anyway, nothing that Atlus can do about that. Bandai-Namco is never going to let this one go to another publisher.
