I just couldn't stand Patches and killed him in the Nexus. He was just so rat like or whatever so I took him out. I see in the wiki he points out the hole where Urbain is trapped. Does this mean I will need to wait until another play through to find Urbain? All because I killed an annoying NPC?

The only people who deserve to die are Yurt...and Ostrava. :)

I'm pretty sure you can still find Urbain. All Patches does is basically say there's treasure, go take a look, and then like the rat he is boots you into the hole. It's still wide open when he's standing in front of it, so I'm pretty sure you can just jump down. Give it a shot, it's in...4-1 or 4-2? I think it's 4-2.

I am on 1-4 of New Game + now, so I will not kill the little rat this time.

Is it just me, or are others finding NG+ to be significantly harder. The Q&A on the non-Atlus wikidot wiki says that it is 8% harder. It feels more like 20-25% harder at least.

Word on the street is that NG+ is 40% harder than your first playthrough and each subsequent + is 8% harder than the previous. Playing in NG++ now, that seems plausible - It's so much easier than the switch to NG+.

Oh my gosh, I am trying to get past the dragon on 1-4 and cannot do it. I ticked off somebody trying to help. He was running up and down trying to get me to follow. I die even with water veil and the flame ring, purple flame shield, etc. I am even using the ring that boosts stamina and I cannot run through without getting toasted. I tried dropping light arrows for the guy (100+) of them because I think he ran out, but he didn't get the idea. I hear you can pick up something the host drops. Well, I specifically dropped the arrows for him since he could get under the dragon. Biorr is dead from the 1-3 boss so I think I will need maybe 2 blue phantoms on this one.

If anybody else can help today after 2PM EST, I would be happy to provide you with the arrows. I am a level 141 right now. I am not in a rush to beat 1-4, although I had planned on doing 1,2,3,4,5 this time. (Actually, am I the only one that thinks the real order of worlds is 1,2,3,5,4? I think they intended you to go up the left side 1-3 and then the right. I think all these websites have it wrong and 4 and 5 should be switched. What they call 5 is easier than, even with the plague babies). I think the broken one is going to be the expansion pack and cannot wait.

Anyway, if anybody can help I can provide you with arrows. I generally use ranged magic or melee with one of a couple different swords and rarely use the bow. I was smart and stocked up in my first game on light, fire, and holy arrows for future use from the vendor on 4-2.

PSN name is skottey. I can be emailed at scott -at- skottey - dot - com as well if somebody can help later today. Thanks.

If you still don't have it done by tomorrow, let me know here. I can't play tonight, but I probably can tomorrow - I'll just have to rush through 1-3. No arrows needed, but thanks.:D

Got passed it with the help of a few blue phantoms... actually, four.

I started with one really good player who disappeared when we got to the dragon. He didn't die though, he just went on ahead and I didn't see him fighting old blue or anything. So I ran back to the beginning and pulled in another blue phantom. He died, and eventually the original blue phantom died too, according to the message. I went back to the starting stone again and pulled in two very helpful blues. Much appreciated.

I really hate the idiot red phantoms. They ALWAYS come at the worst times. I'll be experimenting or messing around with new weapons or changing inventory slots when they appear. Then more often then not the PS button is hit and the game is quit! (on my end, sucka!) At what point does someone feel compelled to ruin another player's game by sitting around waiting for other players they can mess with? I realize I could play offline. But I guess I enjoy helping others more than hurting them, much like the real world. Would you stop and help an old lady change her flat tire (blue phantom), or stop and slash one of the other tires (red phantom)? It isn't in my nature to ruin something for somebody else unless it is a real world enemy or person I cannot stand. In DS, the players the reds are attacking are people they don't even know. Certainly not somebody they should have it out for.

Anyway, when I get so bored with the game that I may feel the need to ruin somebody elses' game, I think it will be time to move on to another game or at least break from the game for a few weeks or months.

Snip

Prepare to get flamed. A lot of people out there make builds specifically for invasion and that is the only fun they get out of the game. Not much you can do about outside of playing offline or in Soul Form.

Anyway, glad you got it done. I can see the Blue Dragon being a pain to take down if you aren't proficient with bows. They are a staple of all my builds because they are so useful in many situations.

Yeah, I've got a white bow +1 and a white bow and I have messed around with them some but my focus has been first on melee and second on magic for protection and ranged attacks. I love fireball. I grind/farm 1-4 reverse for souls to level up and always enter levels with 99 fresh spice to keep the MP flowing for my ranged magic attacks. I've been stocking up on the arrows of all types, with the intention of spending some time learning the bow and arrow system but I haven't got there yet. I totally missed Saint Urbain on my first playthrough and my goal this time is to build my character up more and do the side quests. After almost 200 hours of play, I am finding a few irritating glitches surfacing. I have two false king souls, and both the swords needed to get that upgraded sword, but I cannot get Ed to offer to take the soul. I carry the swords with me. I equip them. I un-equip them. I don't know if I am doing something wrong there.

More on the red phantoms. I generally revive for a boss fight and sometimes seek help, sometimes not. But if I stay in non-soul form, I cannot enter a level without getting nailed by a BP right away. So I end up back at the Nexus committing suicide in order to get back to soul form so I can actually concentrate on a level.

I have found that the Graverobber ring either works really well or not at all when it comes to BPs. I am a level 146 right now and I know I cannot enter 2-1 in revived form or I will get nailed by a BP before I even hit the door to the tunnels.

Anybody have good strategy to beating these jerks? I use the hide miracle but haven't figured out exactly how well it works yet. They will run right past me but when it wears off, they see me before I can use it again. Argh...

Did you give Ed the Red Hot Demon's Soul so he can do upgrades? If you have, then you just need to upgrade the sword and it will cost you the False King Soul instead of regular Souls - You only need to use one of the swords for the upgrade. I don't think it matters which one.

Thanks.... you are absolutely right. I am on new game +1, and finding Ed wasn't enough. I forgot I had to get him the Red Hot Demon's Soul. Duh.... working on 2-1 and 2-2 now.... THANKS for the reminder.
