Rydell's Staff

Sooooo... after killing the poor sod I checked his drop (staff) and found it to be a very interesting piece. On a char with high STR, DEX and MAG it should be pretty effective, but I don't want to spend my Colorless Souls on an obsolete weapon.

Can someone verify it's final stats and share any experience he's/she's had with it?

lol i hold it when i need energy lol......

its good for high lvl people i guess....but for lower levels the stat req are way to high and wide spread IMO to justify the weapon to use (it requires str, dex and magic to wield....and then S scales off of magic once u get to +5).....i do use one from time to time on a higher lvl char i have but it still feels like my stats are spread to thin.....but i prefer to focus on the bare minimum and be a beast at one thing and diversify once i am locked in on that

as far as damage goes...its ok (as it scales as S but im not a huge caster and if i do i tend to use spells that the magic power stat doesnt help so i guess in other words its not my fav attribute to scale to on most of my chars)

a fully upgraded S scaling +5 version does 60 +13 110 +120 with a magic stat of 37....its decent but cant hold a candle to some other melee weapons...but there you go i did what i could and gave my opinion

also, sadly u cannot enchant it :(

What pick said. It is basically a caster weapon for someone who wants mp regen, decent magic scaling, and good reach. Normal melee builds looking for damage weapons should avoid it. Worth noting, it is the only way to get mp regen on a pole weapon.

Hi,

I upgraded the pole with colorless demon souls to +5. It has around 330 (ish) damage with 80 magic 30 str and 16 dex (my stats). My crescent +5 uchigatana does 420 dmg and is alot faster...

So dont bother with it if you have an +5 or +4 made crescent/moon weapon....

Can you combine it with another MP regen weapon...crescent I believe? and fragrance ring for better mp regen?

If so I might have to start carrying it.

Yes, if you carry another MP regen weapon (crescent ___ ) in the other hand, the effects will stack along with the fragrance ring.

EDIT: Just as a side note, the Rydell staff gives +1mp/sec when upgraded to +5 with colorless demon's soul
