Executioner Miralda's black phantom. She is pretty tough but killing her will net you a sweet (but comically large) axe.

And the access to the best armor in the game, but if you're a mage you probably don't need it.

Is there a strategy for killing her? I'm a thief and she hands me my arse every time.
Is there a strategy for killing her? I'm a thief and she hands me my arse every time.
Avoid her attacks, and land a quick, precise one or two hits, before avoiding her attacks again. Her axe isn't all that fast, so it becomes a battle of kiting, dodging, and counter-attacking. If you get too aggressive, though, she'll make quick work of you, so you must take it slow, and steady. You can also use a bow or magic, she'll often dodge, but if you find the right distance between yourself, and her, you can minimize how often she avoids your attack. Just be ready to roll once she gets closer.
I also find it's better to kit her out to the large grass area you first come too when you reach the executioner's grounds. Not the area where the first Dregling phantoms spawn, a little before that. There's no pitfall to worry about, and it's open enough to move around freely without her trapping you anywhere.

Aaaah, thank you. I just started playing today after VERY much anticipation and I'm loving the thief. My roomate is going the recommended "Royal" route, but thiefin' is what I do best. Also, learning parry/riposte is a pain, but awesome. Backstab.... /drool.
On that note, I'm gonna go try it. Thanks!

You can just pull her to the lower area and run around the large square debris and she'll path towards you.

I cheaped her out. Cast poison cloud on her and run away. I make her chase me while wearing my thief and graverobber ring and eventually she'll give up. Then slowly walk up to her back when she's heading back to her room and back stab her. Rinse and repeat. XD

BP Miralda doesn't drop the binded armor, you need to kill body form Miralda in PWWT.
This takes time, but this is how I killed Miralda at SL1 (requires thiefs ring). Clear out all the dreglings on the main concourse before going to the execution grounds. About half way up the concourse there is a dead horse, pavlise, cart and a fire on the right side. Destroy the cart but leave the pavlise alone, then go to the execution grounds and lure Miralda to this point, you'll have to go slow so that she doesn't turn around and return to her stating point. Position yourself on the far side of the fire and slowly back up and Miralda will most likely get caught by the flames and takes fire damage (the fire did more damage than anything I could throw at her). Run up the concourse until you hear her stop chasing you, turn around and follow her until she has passed the fire, which she usually walks through again. Position yourself as before and soul arrow her and repeat until she is nearly dead. Don't let the fire finish her off or it counts as a terrain kill and it won't whiten your CT.

I'm fairly sure he was talking about the Brushwood Armor, which is on a corpse in the building she's guarding.

Well, he did say the best armor in the game and I wouldn't be caught dead in the brushwood armor . Although, I'll admit I tried it on when noone was looking.

I met her aswell last night , playing i think the world was in all black as all the worlds where dark as ive ever seen them, but im lvl 33 thief and had no problems with the dreglings, but her she was easie as hell ,lol i ran in there and pushed her with my sword down into the pit, and she died letting me collect the souls and go down and get the armor, but what was nice was that when the world was not pure black anymore i got back in there killed the enemies again but she was gone now and the Axe was there instead =D brilliant stuff

The only problem with that tactic is if you're trying to whiten your CT. Pushing her into the pit counts as a terrain kill and won't whited your CT. On the other hand, pushing body form Miralda into the pit nets you all the goodies without blackening your CT.

Whats this I keep seeing in all of your replies about body form Miralda and getting her axe if you kill her. I have only ever gotten the binded armor from her when defeating her. And I have never noticed her looking any different when I have fought her with my different characters.

In PWWT Miralda appears in body form (ie. alive) and you get the Binded Armor Set and Master's Ring for defeating her in body form. This is considered an evil act and blackens your CT. If you want the items without the evil act, run past her and she'll usually fall into the pit and die. Terrain kills don't affect CT but do affect WT.
In PBWT Miralda appears as a BP and you get the Guillotine Axe if you defeat her BP. This is considered a good act and whitens your CT and WT. If she dies because of a terrain kill, then your CT doesn't change but WT does.

Well, statistically Brushwood Armor is the best armor in the game, except for the weight. I played a tank character, so the armor was very helpful to me.

Today while attempting to backtrack through 1-1 and pick up the ring of great strength as well as the purple flame shield from the dragon area, I discovered the dragons were not there. I figured I had pushed my tendency all the way white, so I picked all the goodies up and went back to the beginning of the level, and sure enough there was a new staircase to go down. I didnt have a problem with the red guys appearing but Miralda surprised the hell out of me when she jumped out of the shadows and pretty much 1 shot me. I went back for a second attempt and had no problems whatsoever with her. I just pulled her right outside the door and rolled around to avoid her axe and slashed at her when she was open. I then had a lot of fun exploring the pit area and picking up the brushwood armor along with the colorless demon's soul. Great day for me playing around with new stuff in 1-1 :D She did drop the binded armor set (useless since im not a female but meh) however I did not see an axe, though i remember throwing out a guillotine axe much earlier in the game:question:Also between the starting armor for the soldier (your standard plate set) and the brushwood set, what would you guys recommend? I absolutely love being able to roll around in my old school plate gear but the brushwood looks a lot more decent but is heavy as hell! Statwise the brushwood is much better but being able to roll around and avoid being hit has its advantages as well.

Pure white tendency Miralda drops her Binded Armor set, and the pure black tendency Miralda drops her axe. :3

It is also a rare Axeman drop from any of the 1-X stages. (quoted from wiki)
Is it possible to get from the soldiers in 1-1? I'm assuming it is otherwise wiki would state "any stage except 1-1".

She was actually the easiest BP for my build. If you have a decent shield and spear (for me is Purple Flame Shield +10 and Winged Moon Spear +5) the only thing that you have to do is block her attack then hit her 3/4 times with R1 (with a spear you can attack without lowering your shield) and you will interrupt her attack animation, rinse and repeat and voila! Easy as can get...

Yeah, I picked one up from a drop in 1-1 before ever encountering Miralda. Now I have two (both unused).

If you don't want a real fight, or you're low level, lead her to the archstone. she gets confused up there, and will keep turning around and around. i was level 15 and i beat her like this on my first playthrough with soul arrow. took awhile...nothing my mage found over there was useful to him, alas, except for one thing.....

If you're quick on your feet, you can circle in behind her (Miralda) and land a backstab every time she does a slower attack. Depending on your level and weapon type, she won't survive a whole lot of those.

I have a question: I beat the game and am now starting on NG+. How do I get to PWWT? I tried checking the wiki but can't figure it out. I already beat, Phalanx and Tower Knight again and am starting world 2-1 but I want to open the gate to Miralda in 1-1.

There's a few threads on this you can search but here's the rundown: Killing a boss gives you +1 to WT, ressurecting blues gives either +0.5 or +1 I'm not sure but I've read it does help it. On the other hand, dying in body form is -1 WT as is killing NPCs. If you get to PBWT (by suiciding) then you can kill a named BP and the primeval demon (one of each per world) which will get you from -3 to +2 WT, meaning one boss kill will get you to PWWT. Also note that playing online will affect your WT, as everytime you log in it updates them based on the online community's general WT so it's recommended to get a WT event offline.

Do I need to kill the boss in body form or soul form?
