More playing, less whining

Instead of crying about the Halloween event, I decided to help as many people as I could in the 30-50 and 80-100 bracket the last two days. I stuck to 4-1 with my characters, invading people's games as a Black Phantom while wearing no armor, and all my weapons stowed away so I was barehanded.

If the host or blue phantoms killed me, then yay, they're closer to white tendency where they'll have no BLACK PHANTOM SKELETONS FROM HELL.

If they allowed me to help them(as many did), then I slaughtered the skeletons and even a few Satsuki's for them with savage impunity. At which point they walked into the boss fog while I waved.

Felt good to help.

Not that it wasn't really tempting to stab the 2 Blue Phantoms I had fattened up with souls though...

I did the same thing in 1-2 killing the dragon for people, arent we nice xD

I agree 100% with you on this plus the pure bladestone can only be found in PBWT on the black phantom black skeletons.

I like your attitude haha. Seriously people, if PBWT makes you absolutely hate such a great game as Demon's Souls, then just play offline for the weekend, and let the numerous others who aren't so whiny enjoy the opportunity to play the game on "hard mode."

Personally I've been putting down lots of soul signs in 1-3 and 4-2. I enjoy playing along with other people and I get a good amount of souls every time. I like the idea of being a "friendly black phantom." I should try it sometime.

i took this advice today.....i took my level 30 to the old hero so i could try one final time (or atleast until i tried again after the "final time" lol)to farm the pure bladestone......i could have went and killed the primevil demon but i said F that i want to see if i can do it.

WOW on that last turn to the final cave the 2 BP golds and then the dual katana BP right behind phew that was HARD, but when i made it omg did it feel good.....u want a challenge i think taking a lvl 30 with a maybe +5 weapon to the old hero in PBWT might be the best (using no fireballs or spells and no phantom help).....let me know how it goes if you attempt

after beating the old hero and doing my share of farming I GOT THE PBS!!!!! now as someone said in another thread "it doesnt feel as bad, but maybe thats cuz i got my PBS" it is true. i feel a huge relief now.....as im one of those people that when i set my mind to something thats what i do....i SET it and i have to accomplish that task/goal and wont do anything else but that until im done....im still somewhat annoyed, but the fact that i have it makes me happy now

if anyone cares or wants to know what to expect when farming this POS.....MY experience was in the 10-12 hour range of doing nothing but runs for the PBS and only killing the reaper and the skele....sometimes on my new char (that didnt have light weapon) i would stop and farm some slugs for the "sticky white stuff"

leventa, why the hell couldn't you have invaded MY GAME today....i'm in the 80-100 level range and i was trying to do 4-1. i was invaded every minute or two by BPs and the character i was on(my hunter) is horrible for pvp so i was getting trashed left and right. the only times i won was when i could hide and catch them with a god's wrath for a 1 hit kill.

I don't grind. I just play. I've been on Soul Level 119 for a few weeks now. Although, I just made 200k souls helping people as a blue phantom, so.. I think I'll upgrade. :P

Actually even in Offline mode it saves as PB ..

I wanted to go offline to attempt that idiot Flamelurker and my Tendency was still PB ..

Anyone know a good way to beat Flamelurker without using Magic? Making him stuck in the stones on the staircase isn't working for me .. he keeps getting out and mauling me .. lol.

Also PB is great right now .. it doesn't matter how many times I die because the drops from enemies are extremely good right now!

I beat him today on my first try (with PB) without magic. I used magic for maybe three hits at the end when my girlfriend went "Stop being dumb. Use god damn Soul Arrow" but beyond that it was pure bow work.

Just got to learn to time the rolls. Thats 90% of the right. Bait him correctly, fire an arrow, roll, fire two more. Most arrows directly after an attack will cause the boss to stutter, letting you fire another.

I got hit a few times during the fight, but nothing major. It's really about rolling and knowing when the damage will land. Remember you're invulnerable during a roll.

I'll farm a bit more for souls since I'm two levels away from wielding the White Bow which I hope helps ..

If you can sport it, try adding in a bit of magic unless its going to cost a lot of souls. The ability to cast even just one spell can help in a pitch. My arrows were doing roughly 90 per shot (It was only a compound +5 at the time) but my Soul Arrow with magic 10 did 117. Being able to lace a few in when he's low on health may make or break the fight.

I even bow to them and walk slowly...... some people are so thick. And im' wearing NOTHING x_x

Keep trying. Firstly, you can wear nothing, as you mentioned. But it also helps to make sure you're not holding anything. Not even a shield. To be reasonable, the "Help" to "Murdering me" ratio was about 3 out of 10. But it feels really good when somebody trusts you enough to let you help them out.

It's like one of those nature shows, like one I saw where a Female Lion was treating a baby Antelope like its cub. The whole arrangement requires a lot of trust on their part, especially on the part of the Blue Phantoms who, if you think about it, have a lot to lose since unlike the host, you can directly claim their souls in a kill.

A few times a host who trusted me summoned Phantoms, and they charged me like angry rhinos protecting their baby. But hey, at the same time, I had one Blue Phantom poke me a few times with a Winged Spear and I just bowed to him. At which point he did the same and we ran off killing things together.

Just keep trying.

The thing with BP's, even with all your weapons removed (and you have stripped down to your tighty whiteys) the fact that there is a flashing red alert on your screen that says you've been invaded, plus the fact that you look like you just spawned out of hell, being all red and glowy, it's going to be tough to get people to feel cozy in your prescense. I mean you just invaded my game and you want me to be nice? INVASION = I KILL YOU, or die trying, which is usually the case with me.. :) I die. You better be bowing real quick like if your intentions are to help out or you better prepare for battle..

I really do wish some nicer ones would invade my world, but I only get the attacking kind...*sigh*....

I'm loving the PBWT right now. Especially 1-3 of Boletaria Palace. :) I'm not that high of a level yet so it's beautiful being able to farm grass and get a fair amount of souls while I'm at it. Yes, I realize that it isn't the best place to farm but it gets the job done. 20k in 1 hr wheee! :D

I'll go farm other places when I feel confident enough. The only reason I'm doing this though is so I can use Blind effectively since I got it purely because of the Halloween event. I was like "Hell why not? I have the chance" and after two... three tries I got it :] I think my soul lvl was 45ish when I got it... maybe a bit higher.

4-4 Can get 20k in less then 5 minutes. 4-2 can yeild about 6k per 5 minutes.

It's just awful combining NG+ with PBWT when you started NG+...clearing areas/leveling/getting white tendency...all AWFUL right now.

if you dont mind and can you tell me your dex and your total damage with the sword what + its upgraded too? with the blind i never took the time to get it....i usually get the istarelle and am curious to the dmg output

wiki says its 70 base but i always take wiki with a grain

I wasn't able to get that far before everything went to PBWT so I have to make due with what I have lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to the other worlds too since that's basically what I signed up for and it's hella fun, but I'm trying to farm on grass with some soul on the side especially since I cleared 5-1 to reach BP Selen before the event ended.

I have a lot of patience so I don't really mind, and really the only reason it took that long was because I started to become stupid and died more times than I should have. I was invaded a couple of times too. Thanks for the tips though, now I know where to go to farm when I get to that point :D

I've heard that starting NG+ really sucks right now due to everything becoming PBWT but I can't really say anything since I'm still just on NG :S

EDIT: I can't use Blind effectively right now cuz I don't have the required dex for it unfortunately. :[ I think I have 20 dex and I need 24 dex. It's not worth using unless you can wield it effectively since when I tried using it against an archer in the palace it did like 3 dmg. I'm sorry I couldn't really answer your question. I'm leveling up after I get a whole buncha souls and then I'll be able to answer your question. Oh, but it's not upgraded yet I just got it the other night ;] Happiest night of my life lol.

i am on my new char his isnt even as high as yours yet.....but i know you well and you have muled for me in the past and i do trust you....if u need the bladestone trophy its yours just let me know
