View Full Version : Experience with actual multi-player level limits!?

I have read a few threads in these forums which indicate that the maximum level difference allowed for multi-player starts off at +-10...
however, my friend and I tried to co-op when he was 12 and I was 19. We tried for a long time, and we could just never see each others soul signs UNTIL he leveled up to 14, at which point visual contact with the soul sign was nearly instantaneous after it was dropped.
Does anyone else have experience with this? Am I somehow misunderstanding +-10, ie: does it really mean within 5 levels either way?

Hey what a great link...too bad it doesn't help our TC at all..
He was 5 levels within range of his buddy who he couldn't play with, which that guide doesn't mention.
As far as I know, there are different servers that host demon's souls, if you and your friend are not seeing the same messages on the ground then you are not on the same server and should restart (only one of you) your game until you do. I cannot find the direct link where i read this but I have experienced this as well.

Yeah, I saw that thread....in my experience that table is hugely inaccurate - i'm just hoping to contact people who have had similar experiences to me... but i'll keep posting in the other thread.

Keep in mind that sometimes the game has a tendency of dropping your connection. Make sure both of you are actually connected to the game server when you are trying to join each other's game.
Press select and see if you can write / recommend a message, and check for bloodstains on the ground.
I've been having the same problem with a buddy of mine, and I had to quit game and reload a few times before getting a stable connection with the server.

My apologies I misread your thread.
sometimes one of the two members is disconnected from the server. (press select, if you can leave messages then you should be in) If you are not in the server quit and restart the game as you said, that should log you in. What I do is leave a message just before dropping my soul sign, that seems to "lock" me into the server. if you still cant see each other both of you do a full system restart, that almost always clears up the issue when I have it.
You are however right, that is a common glitch that has been posted in multiple places. Also, I have never heard about being in differnt servers, just one is on the server and the other is offline.

Here's the thing - we tried this. For literally an hour, disconnecting, quitting, starting the game at the same time, restarting our systems, etc etc. No luck. ONLY when my friend leveled up to 14 were we able to see each others signs, practically instantly after dropping it. This within a same session where it didn't work previously. We were both definitely logged in on each attempt.

there could be the issue that you can't team up beneath a certain level (I have never tried that though)

Hey man, I have as well. I joined this forum because I am also unable to play with a friend of mine even though we are a couple levels away. THEN when I am able to see his sign due to whatever it may be, I am unable to join his game and get a 'failed to join game session' message. I get you.
Add in other people summoning your friend and we have quite a headache.
