View Full Version : Chunk of Spiderstone?

Ok been farming 2-1 & 2-1 because wiki says miners drop but I have only ever got shards, I have a pretty high Luck (28) for my lvl (76) but just not seeing it. Am I in the right spot?

The unarmed miners drop it, yes.

the miners that fight bare-handed drop both shards and chunks on 2-2 ONLY. on 2-1 they only drop shards. there is a crystal lizard on 2-1 that drops shard/chunk/pure.

Yeah, the gecko right before the part with the hordes of flame-sword wielding miners and the two unarmed miners that throw chunks at you. That damn gecko is the one that holds some good chunks.

Wow so there is like only the two there that throw rocks at you then that can drop it... That's BS... the geko's (silver lizards) are long gone.... /sigh well thanks for helping narrow my search down.

You probably hear this alot, but get Stonefang's world tendency to pure black, if it isn't already there. It makes them sooo much more common than with white or neutral tendency. I was able to get my compund longbow to sticky +5 in probably no more than 2-3 hours combined. I only have 8 luck.

I would offer to set up a trade because I have several leftover chunks and shards, but our levels aren't close enough and I have terrible luck with trying to trade in this game.

All I did was clear stonefang and it's lizard populace, after that I had enough chunks and pures for 2 sticky+5...sadly I had no where near enough shards and had to farm about 20 of em.

Have a bow and arrows in your inventory. Go through the doorway and head right, destroying the gunpowder barrels and go up the stairs. Once on the high ledge, you can snipe the crystal lizard.

Once all of the miners are dead, and you have killed the gecko, reload the game so it will respawn.

Silver lizards are long gone on that level, I spent about 5 hours working that area, prob. got about 200 Shards of Spiderstone. I thought I was pure black (well it looks that way but since there is no number or percentage assigned it is hard to tell..) lol black is black right?

Anyway i think I have Chunks of Hardstone, will look tonight to see if I do.

It's definitely worth farming spiderstone, even if takes a while. To get those chunks I farmed the miners on the immediate right as you go from the spider's archstone (2-2). Sticky long compound bow +5 with heavy arrows does >300 damage (my Dex and Str are ~30). In my first playthrough, I shot black phantom ostrava to death as he ran towards me and the blue dragon (in hyper mode) was taking ~140 damage per arrow.

Are you using Large Sword of Searching? It helps a good bit.

but your luck wont increase that you get a better item either way, only that you get common items more often, which stinks

In the strategy guide, hyper mode refers to having <30% life and using clever rat's ring for massive attack power.
