3 is soooo hard!!

I am on the 3rd place. If I a correct. It's like a jail cell. Well anyways it is very hard my soul level is 26.. Is that to low for this place? If so how can I get it up higher? By making runs? or..

Yes you can do runs to level up if you are having troubles. I thought it was pretty easy actually, only a few enemies which are pretty easy if you are sneaky about it. I just hid behind one of the pillars and waited for the "octopus-headed" guys to come up, then I either wait for them to turn around and I backstab them or I confront them outright and just kill them in 3 or 4 hits, which interrupts them if they are casting a spell.

Oh... Wow I was going about it the complete wrong way.. Hahaha I have been trying to use my magic to kill them from across the map and they keep freezing me then stabbing me the tentacles are the only hard ones at the moment. Thanks for that help I am about to jump all over it!

I use magic. The most basic flame spell will stagger them and kill in 2 casts.

I can't hit them hard enough to stagger them every time with my normal weapon.

I got screwed last night. Had 10k souls on me and I got killed by one I didn't even see coming. Then got killed on the way to him so lost all 10k I had!! GRR I was so pissed off! lol

Just remember that the orb that freezes you have limited range. Bait the enemy to use it, roll out of range, then attack it once it's coming for you.

Yeah I had a hard time with them as well, I found out that basically by staying behind a pillar after they spotted me was the best route to take. Since basically they would shoot two different spells maybe two or three times before running over to the pillar.

I'd say it's easier that way because they won't do that "force push/knock back" spell, especially if you get a few good hits in to make them stagger.

If you're a magic character, be sure you're using fire. They're notably weaker to fire, than they are to normal magic. Also don't try to snipe them with magic, they have better range than you. Get a good position to kill them with two or three spells, before they can retaliate. Also be careful of using the Kris Blade, or Ring of Magical Sharpness since their magic will completely devastate you should you take a hit. Not to say you can't use them, just make sure not to let them cast Soul Ray on you where you can't maneuver away from it. I got one shotted doing that, haha.

If you're a bow user, you can snipe a number of them, using a Thief's ring, to stay far enough away for them to not notice you. You still must be careful, because sometimes they will launch Soul Ray in the direction you fired from, so be ready to exit out of first person for some quick maneuvering(Don't roll while aiming, as Latria has a lot of pit-falls, particularly around good sniping spots).

If you're a melee character, the easiest way is to get the jump on them, or the rush them before they can counter. A quick backstab+follow-up attack will easily finish them off before they can use any of their attacks. If they manage to spot you, either find cover to lure them into melee range, or rush them to finish them before they can get a good attack off. If you're in large rooms, you can generally let them unleash their binding attack, while rolling out of the way, which will give you time to kill them before they attack again.

26 should be plenty high enough. They're one of those enemies that seem much harder than they need to be when you first encounter them. Once you find a way to get the jump on them, rather than vise-versa, it shouldn't be too hard to wipe them out.

Or if your like me, use a BIG weapon, in which case all you need is 1 solid hit. This hit will floor them long enough for you to smash them some more. Course as Syra said you still need some stealth to get that first hit in.

If it is just not working out for you, and your somehow adept at dealing with poison and the swamp monsters of 5 you can find the perfect shield to handle 3 with there.

Also 4 is a great area to grind out some levels in.

...back on area 3, you actually might want to postpone it a few days. Because of halloween the game has a special event making the world tendency all black.

This is very bad for you, monsters hit harder, have more hp, and if your in soul form you hit softer and have less hp. But their drop rates and soul points go up.

Oh man.. Ok, I will be more stealthy in trying to kill them, I am pretty much sniping with magic and it is not the best strategy. If I get frozen one more time and needled to death again I AM GOING TO FREAK THE F OUT!!

i usually used a thief ring and a good bow/arrow combo to snipe them until i got good enough at getting in their face and killing them at melee before they could kill me.

Anti-magic field is a Miracle my friend. And yes, those Illithid a-holes seem hard the first time around but are very fragile. Attack and kill them before they can cast, their stun is really their only defense.

dodge their green electric attack (it's short range) and then run circles around them as they try to rush you.

3-1 is simple, use the thief ring.

if you think 3-1 is hard, i pity you at 3-2 boss.

My first run through 3-1, I used a good bow whenever I could. Now, with anti-magic field, the octopus men are sitting ducks.
