As we all know we in Europe have been shafted and as yet there are no plans to release demon souls over here (sue to us all speaking different languages apparently).

I went and bought the US version (deluxe) off eBay and couldn't be happier with it.

Just wondering how many other europhiles are out there.

Anybody here played both (Asia and US) versions from EU?

I have started playing on the US servers last night and had considerable worse connection problems (lag, dropped from coop session...) on US servers then I had on the asian realms.

Just wanted to see if anybody could confirm this.

And Atlus give us EU servers already even if we will not get an official Pal release :)

It would make sense the servers are more stable in asia as the game has been out there for significantly longer. give it time and US should get better. I wish they would make EU servers... then you would stay out of mine... j/k xD

There have been some (they are the minority) DS NA players complaining that the NA server community has been very slow to ramp up for more advanced players. It will take some time for the NA community to get there. But, if Europe had their own servers and the game didn't sell too well...

Be careful what you wish for.

Swedish player here. Imported it thru Denmark that imported from US. It took about 2 weeks to get here, but its worth the wait.
Funny thing it was cheaper then buying a regular game from a local store.

Hi guys,

Could be a really stupid question, if i was to import a version over to the UK would I need to change any settings on my PS3 so i could play it? Or will it work fine straight out of the box...

cheers.

Works fine out of the box (if your PS3 is set to English).

I am from Greece and imported from Canada. Game was worth every cent and since the Canadian Dollar is relatively cheap compared to the Euro I got it for a very good price.

PAL servers would have been nice though.

Problem with PAL servers is that as its not properly available over here there would be very few people on them compare to US ones.

There reason why not many European players own the game is because it wasn't released here. IF it gets released it will have an audience, making the creation of servers a viable choice.

Why put a hand full of people on a server meant for thousands of players, personally i think JP/US servers is all they need.

I'm from the UK, imported it from China, but he'd ran out of Chinese copies and gave me the US copy for the same price! Saved about £20 :D

IMO. they should've merged JP & US Servers together.

yes me to, had to import. this game is spectacular but it doesnt fit with the generic crap made nowadays, im pretty confident it would not sell well here.

:agree:

I've also imported the game from Canada. It's true that sometimes (depending on the time of the day) it's hard to find, for example, a blue phantom in a particular place but I'm sure it's easier than if we'd get dedicated servers here in Europe.

@Paxtiny:
I have both Versions of DS. US and Asia. I can confirm, that the connection to the US Servers is very laggy and i have drop offs, as well.
I never had those Issues on the Asia Servers. The "Style of Play" on the Asia Servers is very much different from the US Servers. Bowing each other at the Beginning of a Game to show some respect and to be friendly is a common thing there. Same thing, if U start a Duell. On the US Servers Players usually try to kill U, the moment they see you.

Switzerland here. Thankfully we have a store in Zurich that's really good about getting imports, so I could get my hands on it easily.

Forgot to mention that. One of our few sellers is selling it too, with the normal price tag, the us version. The same with GoW Collection.

It'd be nice to have a EU server but I've never loaded up my save file from US server to Asia server, so I am unsure if it causes any problems but if it involved me having to buy a second copy of the game to play on an EU server I think I'll just stick to the US.

spacehamster

I think I'd be willing to start over from scratch with an EU version of the game if it meant

a) no more lag and
b) DLC.

Otherwise, I really don't see the point.

Here´s one more player from Sweden.

i bought the asian version last year and like most of you i love this game, sadly tho it´s at times alittle hard to find people to play with on certain levels, i´m currently @ SL: 170 so if you feel like playing some co-op or vs just let me know on psn.

If nothing else i think atlus/from software should work together and remove the server region restrictions, why divide a most likely relatively small online community, let people regardless of which copy they have play with each other.
