Kind of like the blue stone, only that you get into a duel with the person that summoned you. The loser will lose one soul level and the winner will get that amount in souls.

What are the restrictions with the red stone? Can you see the soul sign of a person in NG+ (while you are not)?

It basically abides by the same rules of the blue sign. You have to be within a certain level from one another (it varies depending on your level.) Just like the blue stone, your game cycle doesn't matter, level does. So, a level 100 in NG+ will be able to fight with, say a level 90 who is still on his first playthrough.
In essence, it is a soul sign that allows you to summon players to your world, but instead of them helping you, you are inviting them to duel.
EDIT: Someone who has used the red stone more extensively than I should be able to verify (or contradict) what I just said.

The restrictions of the red eye stone are the same as a blue eye and black eye stone. It's all the same. Look at the thread called "Some Fun Facts" for more details on that. Red eye stone can be used with a live body or phantom form. just like blue eye stones, you can summon anyone from anywhere.
Someone being in NG+ is irrelevant. You can be in NG++++++ and the other person can be in NG++, as long as you two are both within level range, you guys can summon each other.

Thanks for backing me up. Would you mind providing them with the link to the thread? Also, we seriously need to get started on a FAQ page.

ill tell you this....the person who has put the red stone down is at a huge disadvantage....you never want to be that guy you want to summon the other people...
while your loading in the game and getting ready to get control of your character you have 3 conditions already on you and are standing in an acid cloud getting beat on
always summon the other person :P

that is just defeating the purpose of red stone then.... i've been you tubing DS pvp videos for those asian users... they are so polite!!! they'd bow to each other first before they start dueling. i just wish we'll have more users that's more polite!!

Lol, I never actually thought about that Ice, but that is a valid point you could drop a few spells down before they player even gets loaded into your game.

That's a dick move though. I don't think I'd do that...

Yeah if you want to use the red eye stone realize that it is justl ike the blue eye. Meaning you can coordinate your duel if you have a specific person in mind. Personally I have the red eye stone but rarely use it because most americans are basically coward jack holes who don't like fair fights. No offence of course :)
Everything posted in this thread is true though about how they work, it is identical to the blue eye stone except you can use it alive too.

Not with a Red Stone, if you want to do PvP is seems pointless. If you want to act like a douche then invade someones game or wait for someone to invade yours - Not that I condone that type of behavior there either....Just sayin....

What are you referring to? I'm kind of not understanding what you're trying to say. I was saying that acid and black clouding the spawn point of a red eye stoned player just before they spawn is a dick move because two people are fighting in a dual where it's a fight for a bet, unlike a black eye stone dual where it's a fight for someone's life.

I was agreeing with you - I commented on your comment to Ice Pick.

i wasnt telling him TO do it.....i telling him the reasons not to leave his down as per experience and was going to save him the trouble. trying to tell him to always summon his enemies when he could to avoid this

I think everyone realizes that you weren't promoting the practice, but only making people aware of the issue as something to watch out for. At least that was the way I read it initially.
