I know that chances are it will never be localized, but as a Macross fan, it's my duty to try.

As much as I love to see this as a Macross fan, I have two words for you, Harmony Gold. I have no more respect for them and I'll admit that Robotech is one of the shows that got me into Macross and robots in general. Look at what they are doing to the release of Mechwarrior 5. If atlus can do it then it would be even more of a surprise then seeing SRT OG.

Hell Yes, i support this!!!
With Demon's Souls doing so well, we might even see a licensed SRT game over here someday.
For those who want to see gameplay, here's a trailer:

^What does the success of Demon's Soul have to do with SRT/SRW titles?

Harmony Gold.
That's pretty much the end of any sentence that starts with "Can we..."

+ Macross 7 never made it here & I heard it'd be hard to get that anime in the U.S. thus one reason why this game wont make it here

I doubt something so unknown here would be published, but we can hope.

The game may be unknown, but the anime isn’t.

I'll have to reiterate the answer "Harmony Gold." Even without the legal debacle and HG's apparent unwillingness to do anything with their distribution rights besides blocking import channels, there's the fact that anime + music catalogue (which is actually indispensable to the plot) makes Macross a rather expensive property for something that's only moderately popular in the West. Never mind that most of that moderate popularity is owed to Robotech, not the real Macross.
In short, we won't even get the Macross Frontier television series, so we can just forget getting a video game based on it.

I remember at New York Anime Fest '09 I went to a two hour Robotech Panel they had and a person there asked if they would ever bring this game over here but using Robotech characters instead of Macross. Of course his answer was something closely resembling "no" but they did say that games based on the upcoming Robotech movie may be on the horizon! Woew
