Yup. I am suggesting a game that Atlus will never translate for the North American audience. So why am I posting this? It has never been a game suggestion here before, so I just want to see how far this thread will go. It would be quite funny to see this on XBLA or PSN in the future.

For those of you who don't know, SEGAGAGA, or SGGG for short, was one of the last Dreamcast games made and it was SEGA's final effort to "thwart the competition". What was it, exactly? A business management simulator with RPG elements, or what SEGA calls "SEGA Simulation". Straight from Wikipedia:

Set in the year 2025, the story depicts Sega with only a 3% share of the market. In Ōta, Tokyo, the city in which Sega was established in 1951, the company forms 'Project Segagaga': a plan to save SEGA from its main competitor, the evil DOGMA (a parody of Sony, Sega's biggest competitor at the time). As part of Project Segagaga, Sega takes two teenagers Tarō Sega (瀬賀太郎, Sega Tarō?) (the player's character) and Yayoi Haneda (羽田弥生, Haneda Yayoi?), and employ them to guide Sega to the top of the market. The game features cameo appearances from Sega characters past and present such as Alex Kidd and Sonic the Hedgehog. The game also references things associated with Sony's PS1 and PS2. Several hidden games are parodies.

If it were translated into English, I believe the title would be changed to "SEGA SAGA" to make it more fitting for our American brains (and to actually garner sales because, honestly, who would buy anything called SEGAGAGA?).

Here are some screenshots for you to enjoy:

Some guys from Golden Axe, Astal, and a wealth of other obscure/forgotten SEGA characters make an appearance in some way. Alex Kidd is also a recurring character that talks about his dethronement from being SEGA's original mascot. It's pretty much a SEGA fanboy's wet dream. And I have never played it because of the language barrier. The only way to enjoy a game like this is to understand it.

As a final note, Atlus has localized and published SEGA games to North America before, including such classics as Crusader of Centy for the SEGA Genesis (known as "Soleil" in Europe and "Shin Sōseiki Ragnacėnty" in Japan) and some of the Shining Force games for the Game Boy Advance.

A friend once showed me videos about this game.

Still not interested in it. Plus there's that thing about the Dreamcast no longer being supported most places.

I'm baffled why you would put a thread called "A game that Atlus will never translate" in the Suggestion Box. If you want to have a Segagaga appreciation thread over in off-topic, go nuts, but this is not the place.
