View Full Version : Was I the only one thinking the NDSi would have dual touch screens?

About a year ago I read in some article that the NDSi would end up having both screens touch-enabled. This was, of course, before the Japanese release and details were scarce. Many sites reported this so the info must have come from somewhere. Was this just a fluke that spread like wildfire on the net of is there some truth to all of this?

I've never heard that rumor, so no, I don't think it was particularly widespread.

lol, if the NDSi did have dual touch screens, would you play it with two styli? But yeah, I remember hearing a rumor about it before it was officially announced.

I was expecting the DSi exclusive games to come out sooner...

Now my only incentive to buy one is DSiWare Warioware

I still think the DSi is a downgrade, either way. I'd rather not get it.

I thought the DSi was more of a waste of time and money then having dual touch screens.

That only applies to DSiWare. My US DSi has Daigasso Band Brother DX in it right now.

Not entirely true, its been reported that DSi enhanced carts are also region locked to their respective regions DSi console (they'll still play without the enhancements on another regions regular DS, but not at all on another regions DSi).

I don't believe there was ever a "rumor" that the DSi would have dual touch screens, but it was widely speculated because it made sense. No, you wouldn't use two styluses. It's purpose would be to make the entire playfield touchable instead of just half. Games such as Puzzle Quest would certainly have benefited from that possibility.

The DSi ended up being far worse than what I was hoping/expecting to see as the next DS.

That is very true. The Idolm@ster: Dearly Stars only works on Japanese NDSi handhelds. You can however play it on a NDS Lite handheld without the region lock, but obviously you lose the enhancements that make use of the cameras.
