how do I get by that cannon thing.

there's a guy with an item on in back of the cannon to the right as it is shooting at you. is that the key I need.

every time I try too get behind it. it circles around and kills me quick

The Walkway with that arrow firing trap is shaped like a big T

The Key you need is the nearest thing on the ground. Just carefully walk to it and pick it up. Don't worry, you can turn the canon off with a switch on its back once you circle around. You'll do so on the way to the boss. Don't try to dodge those arrows by running at it. You'll just die horribly.

You actually CAN run through the gauntlet created by this machine. You need the greater protection spell or whatever it's called. I did it with this spell, plate armor (had ring so moving at full speed), purple flame shield, and body form. Had to waste a full moon grass. But you skip lots of the level :D

Run with your shield up obv.

I can picture where you are now. It's not safe to run in the path of death. There's a key on the body

The "x" marks the spot where a dead body with a key can be looted. The key itself unlocks the "Warden's Hall" where you can proceed further into the stage. The "Warden's Hall" can be reached in between floor 2 and 3 (I think, don't remember 100%)

Front is where you will find the warden's hall key. Behind the "cannon" is the switch to turn it off.

I usually put a message right in front of the key saying....key.

jumping off the ledge gets you dead.

and after killing the boss in 3-1. there is an item behind the pedestal. every time i try and get it. those damn fling demons car me way. how do yea get that one too..

i dont know about the item off the ledge, but for the item you have to either get it before you kill the fools idol or walk along the edge

however in that same spot for some reasons the gargoyles wont come, and i dont know why, i killed the fools idol twice and the same thing, i walk to the alter and nothing, can anyone help me out

Yeah, I got frustrated with this as well. There is some chump dregling on the right upper balcony of the chapel who revives the Idol with spells. You'll need to take him out first to beat the boss. Also on the wall behind him is the key used to free Sage Freke.

The path to the dregling can be found to the right of the giant ballista. Climb the spiral staircase in the tower and take the long path and you will find him at the end of it. You can also drop down to a ledge to grab a lotus, but beware of the black phantom if you haven't beaten her yet.

because it wasn't explained too well, I'll elaborate on getting behind the ballista.
There are other doors you haven't opened back in the level. Here's a hint to find them: They're up the stairs you came down earlier. You'll know you're in the right place when you see a large gate. Open the gate and follow the path. You'll figure out the rest.
