I recently have been practising Parry - Riptose thing,
its really cool and all.
However that is when i am using 'buckler'.
I just got the 'adjudicator shield' and i ended up slamming the shield instead of parrying o.O!?
So i assume large shields cant be use for parry. if thats the case....
what are a good suggestion for shield that can be used for parry??

second is about spellcasting question.
Is there a restriction on using the 'Enchant weapon' spell? I tried to use it on my crescent scimitar or my sticky long bow, and spell failed >.< (using wooden catalyst btw), any info?
thanks for the hlep

First, yes larger shields do not have a parry ability but get the trade-off of doing a shield slam. Also, I believe that the buckler is the best parrying shield, mostly due to the fact that the "parry" animation lingers a bit longer on the buckler. Don't quote me on that though.

As far as the other question, the "crescent" weapons are already considered to be enchanted so the turpentine or sticky white stuff won't work. Also, buffs don't work on bows, sadly.

The best parrying "shield" imo is a parrying dagger... Mail Breaker is an example of one. The animation lasts so long its almost impossible to miss a parry with one of those bad boys... unless the enemy is using a strong attack or magic attack or unblockable attack... er... dot dot dot...

There is an actual "parrying dagger" you know. thing is if you miss your parry using those you are hosed. Being unable to parry with large shields is why I don't use them though.

Ah I see... speaking of which on parrying, are most of attacks can be parried? or only normal ones can?

I think any attack can be parried, but I'm not sure. The best shield to parry with is the Dark Silver Shield. It's also the best shield in the game since it has 100% physical and magical protection.

I believe piercing attacks cannot be parried.

You can parry piercing attacks in some cases like spears. They are much harder to time for me though. As a general rule if the swing is being done two handed you cant parry it but this isn't "always" the case.
