Please fix World Tendency!

I'm tired of my WT resetting back to neutral when I load my games! While it isn't every time I play, I'm tired of never being able to get tendencies how I want them.

I've seen people reporting of having WT reset to neutral if they quit the game in the Nexus, but yesterday I quit in Tower of Latria, by the archstone of 3-1, and when I re-loaded every world was reset to neutral. Pure White in world 2 and my progress in world 1 - totally reset.

From what I can tell this bug has been around since they patched the asian version. I read a forum post on GameFAQs which stated:
1: Do not ever quit in the Nexus when ONLINE. if you do, a very high chance all World Tendancy will be reset to Neutral.
2: If possible, play offline if you want to mess with World Tendancy. If not, make sure you save/quit in a World.

A person shouldn't have to play offline if they want to work the WT system, I think this is a bug that can totally ruin a person's game, making them either restart their character, or forcing them to try again on New Game+.

Any of you had this same problem? Thoughts?

happened to me yesterday. had a world completely black and come back to it neutral today (world 5).

I did beat the world 1 arch demon but that shouldn't interfere with 5...

that and they need a solution to getting pure white more than once during a game!

If you beat all the bosses you're sorta screwed, co oping or getting challenge takes too long and isn't consistent at all, especially at higher lvls, I mean who's doing world 2 bosses at lvl 90? Or even raiding world 2 at that lvl?

I can tell you zero from experience :(

I agree... this WT stuff is messing me up... I had World 1 on white but I think it's back to neutral. Plus all tendency stuff seems to be changing randomly in my game and I don't understand it.

Yeah i kind of gave up on all of that on this play through. I will make a conscious effort to get the WT to what I want when i have the means to do so.

I love this game, but this is a huge issue if a person wants to be able to accomplish any WT reliant events.

I'm concerned though that we won't be getting a patch: it would have to come from FROM correct since ATLUS is only the publisher? I know FROM is busy with 3D Dot Heroes.

I really hope this game doesn't fall by the wayside for FROM.

But basically you need to start out a stage as a soul and then power run bosses or do the old pure dark to light and make sure at least 1 boss is left you can then go beat.

The enemies attack power scales with the times you NG+ it. I hear that after one or two run-throughs the enemies' attack power scales so much that armor just becomes useless (since that doesn't scale.) The will 2-3 shot you to death, and thats not including bosses.

Don't worry, this game will challenge you until the bitter end.

Even still bosses can't hold up too well.

Fireball against phalanx = done. Spider you just need to cling the left wall and fire away or spam light ray.

Plus you'll likely have 2nd chance and abuse that. So even if they can kill you in 1 or 2 hits honestly it shouldn't matter. I could see man eater being a chore and maybe the king in 1 - 4.

But most shouldn't be a problem once your in lvl 100+ given the skill set has some miracle and magic usage.

True i'm going to grind up to 110 or so tonight likely for a dark world 5 showdown.

I got owned by dark trolls in 5 as you can't manuever in water, I was at lvl 70 or so but didn't have the patience. 1 hit and you're pretty much done, I didn't have a lot of time to retry so now i'm going back and plan on steam rolling it.

By the time I beat the game I should be well off for NG+ to not be too horrible. I think the missions will be worse than bosses.

Tower of latria i'm not looking forward to... damn octo dudes.

I have come to respect those Mind Flayers. They are one of the enemies in this game that really make me nervous.

Just look at the wiki, it's a mess. There's no way they can't know.

All the methods for pure white have ??? and maybe's.

It is very annoying. If anything they should make it default back to pure white after sometime when the arch demon goes down.

That way you can just die your way down to black if you want to item farm.

i'm stuck in world 2, did the pure black to 6/7. I have no boss to kill.

So now all I can do is hang out and hope someone invades me and kill them. When I was referring to the ??? it's mainly about aiding someone else... apparently that used to boost your WT but not anymore for some reason....

i'd be okay with that if the game didn't decide to wipe my tendencies when I log out.

I'm going to play this game multiple times though I just want to maximize each playthrough as much as possible to get a plat.

It is technically possible to do all tendency events in one play through. You have to plan to do that from character creation though basically and offline play is the only safe way to do it.

Yeah totally, I get you. But most people want to get the WT events in the middle of their playthroughs. Like you said, they have to really plan this out from the beginning.

EDIT: I have yet to see my tendency be reset but if it is a big deal I am sure From Software will patch this. Japanese gamers probably already pointed this out to From.

Did it ever cross your mind that this is not a bug but put in purely intentional with the 1.02 patch because people were b*tching that being killed by a few sudden BP-invasions would make their worlds black and thus the game way harder?
I think if there are any programmers in this forums they would probably agree that "fixing" this would just involve saving some variables while the player quits the game. If this was really a bug, I'm positive FROM would have already fixed it.

Look at it this way: It's a double-edged WT reset function; If you mess up, you can simply quit to nexus and restart the game which turns your pure black worlds to neutral again.

Also, keep in mind that PWWT fades over time, it was always like that. There's has to be a catch or replayability would be killed if you can just walk in and snatch all the WT-sidequest goodies.

Instead of whining I strongly recommend you plan ahead for your next playthrough, once you know what to do you'll get pure white in every world without too much hassles. ;)

Well we don't know either way since it was never specified...

I don't need a tissue, but this whole debacle obviously needs ironed out. Accepting the current confusion with WT's is not a good solution.

I love this game, but current WT gig is a problem.

Well, I never had any problems with it, so I won't call it "confusion".

Don't get me wrong though, I'll surely welcome any changes in the WT system as long as my usual routine of getting PWWT won't get hindered. :P

They are all over. Multiple mobs can drop them and they are common loots. I must have used 10 of them at least for various reasons.... and I still had like 37 left when I beat the game.

If you feel adventurous and masochistic farm the babies in 5-3 for them.

This isn't an issue of my pure tendency fading "over time", and I fail to see how stopping play for the night so I can sleep and then starting the game 8 hours later to a totally reset WT is by intentional design.

And yes, I realize the safest way to do things is by playing offline, but I enjoy playing online, with people, soul form-or-no, no player should randomly face resetting world tendencies through no fault of their own.

IMO the best way to do WT stuff is still online. Really, it takes nothing to get PWWT with the help of 2 blue phantoms...

BTW, It's not random; If you quit in the nexus, the worlds will reset. If you quit in an area where you have a WT other than neutral, that area stays the way you left it. At least it was still working like this after the 1.03 patch, I can't comment on the 1.04 patch because I haven't played the game too much lately.

Like I said in the OP, my WT has been resetting without quitting in the Nexus, so I do think it is a bug. And even if it was only when quitting in the Nexus, that shouldn't be happening, right?

I finally got there and saw that the primeval demon was sitting there so I decided to head back to nexus and let it stay pure black. Lo and behold I resume my game today and Stonefang is back to neutral for no ####ing reason.

That is exactly where it happened to me. So, now I am back out hunting for Stones of Ephemeral Eyes and I'll be sure to go offline once I get enough. It does suck that it forces you to do this.

yea.. i got world 1 and 2's tendancy to black last night.. quit in stonefang.. came back.. they both were still black.. but once i went to 1-2 to try to help someone to come back to life, both world's tendancies went back to neutral.. so yea.. please fix this.. i'm really trying to get a black eye stone.. and the the random resets aren't helping at all..

Alright here's the deal... just got my tendency reset again.

I quit my game in 4-1. Came back, world tendency for Stonefang was black (not pure black, but definitely noticeably black). Went back to Nexus, WT is now neutral. Now I don't think the trip to Nexus did it (because I've gone to nexus before and it resets) but I think that WT got reset on quitting the game, then going to Nexus showed the change. So in short...


I'm 95% convinced that quitting the game ANYWHERE in online mode resets the world tendency.
