I am currently playing Demon's Souls and am ill equipped for the flamelurker, I need to defeat him to move on and I am stuck right in front of his door, If you are a stronger character please come my way My character name is Eskol and PSN is miko313 I am right in front of his door way, put a message saying Crossroads right before you use a blue eye stone and I will summon you. PLEASE! I AM DESPERATE!

Aww, man, I was there most of the day today. I love fighting him, so I'd totally have helped out. But I can't play anymore tonight, and I'm not sure when I'll be on tomorrow. Anyway, if you still need help next time I'm on, I'll suicide back into soul form for you. I actually just beat him in my game. I just find that fight so intense, and exciting. XD

(If you have a free magic slot, I recommend Enhance Weapon. Just remember, unless you have help, he'll likely not give you a chance to recast it after it wears off. With one or two blue phantoms though, it's not hard to find a quick break to reapply for some added magic damage. That's what I've been using on him, while two handing my Uchigatana.)

I actually have two Uchigatanas, haha. One can be found in the Courtyard of 4-1. It's guarded by an "old friend" of sorts. You'll know what I mean by that when you see it. It's also dropped by the black, red-eyed skeletons who are dual wielding them, but those guys are honestly harder than the "old friend." They usually guard special treasure though.

The hiltless I'm not sure about. I've not come across it yet.

Well for flamelurker you need a real weapon, what you have in your kit isnt going to cut it unless you are using a cheat. Also equip a ring of fire resistance maybe cast warding if you can. Use a long range weapon like a large sword or spear and learn his attacks. Stay in the middle not the sides with all the debris and crap. I killed him with a moon flamberge +2 for the record and he is weak to magic. Your sticky bow may do the trick to if you just lock him and strafe I would not try fighting him first person.

If it makes you feel better the guy after him is fairly easy but really fun to fight.

+1 dude....the way he looks and the vids during the fight OMG, i havnt beat the game or anything but i find it very hard to believe anything can top that beast in any game for that matter, that thing is crazy cool

i could be wrong as im more into realistic shooters as opposed to fantasy or anything.....but im huge on action rpgs and hes by far the coolest ive ever saw

Unrelated topic, but I am unable to start a new thread. I have now lots of items in my inventory. When i use down on the Dpad, it does not scroll through all of the usable items, only those that show an E on them. Is there a way to show all items, is there a way to remove the E and put it the items i would like to choose from.

I played around for a while, but i could not find anything.

you have to equip the items you want to be usable in the same menu where you equip weapons and armor

Lol actually I have beat the flamelurker before on a different character but wasn't happy with the character so I deleted him and tried a new one, this one stinks too lol I gotta find out what I can handle, and yes 2-3 is very fun and the wep you find looks cool and is way tough, btw is there a way to dodge the punch? lol it seems like if i dodge it i just get lucky, move when he is not looking then when i stop to break the debris he see's me so i sprint and sometimes i get stuck under his right hand(not death) sometimes he gets his hand down before i can get outta there and other times i barely roll underneath and get to the ballista

when i beat the flamelurker before I was a knight with a bastard sword+3 25 str and weak other stats equiped the flame shield and tanked him...so easy

Meanwhile... I don't know if you can dodge the "punch" reliably I basically accepted I was going to get hit so had block up and cast warding on myself (god I love that spell).

I should have thought to bring those flame res shields for lurker but I never use them because I don't have anywhere near enough strength. I think I have 18 ;p.

About DG: you CAN dodge the punch, but you need a lot of intuition and a bit of luck; as soon as you know the punch is coming, roll 2-3 times forward. If you time it right he will just get stuck with both punches in the wall while you can easily go ahead towards the first arbalest.

Still, I wouldn't bother - if you go the stealthy way, you can defeat DG without getting hit once. (Yes the second part is also easily passable with stealth)

That's what I meant by "stealthy". Also, the thief ring works in your favor too.
Same with the lower passage; I noticed many just clear the rubble and once he is not looking just rush towards the other side while praying that they wont get burned to a crisp... Well, there's more than enough pillars to hide, you can make it to the other side without he even noticing.

I beat him last night. I used a winged spear +6, a the large anti-flame shield, a regeneration ring, and a flame resistance ring. Lots of herbs help too.

Basically, you just need to be really patient. If you can roll quickly, the best way I've found.. is to roll backwards and away from him, not to the sides. He'll usually lunge forward with a second swipe or fire blast. When he does this I usually use a single secondary attack (R2), which deals a decent 120 or so damage, before rolling backwards again. Took me a good 10 - 20 minutes, but I barely got hit until he went berserk. Also, I spent some time farming for stats. Maybe an hour getting souls and upgrading endurance alone.

well....about that shield, i one don't have 22 str, and 2 i went to pick it up and was overweight, did not know that when you leave and come back it is gone....

That sucks.. well, you can still do it without the flame resistance shield, my friend did it with a steel shield. Basically, the goal is to roll a lot and not get hit. The shield is just a cushion just in case you do. I only got hit five times the entire fight. That was right near the end when he speeds up too. Like I said though, my strategy takes a while.

You don't need a shield to beat FL. The fire resistance ring coupled with the water veil spell are good enough in case you get hit by the fire. Don't forget to use a magic weapon or put SWS on a plain one to speed the battle up a bit.
Winning the battle without getting hit is very well possible, although very difficult if you don't destroy him quickly when he is under 30% HP, which is a pain in the behind without a nicely powered up "Moving Soul Arrow".

Yeah I beat him with no shield I just dodged everything and used a moon flamberge. He probably landed 6-7 hits on me the whole fight, most of them near the end. The times he killed me was because of a camera issue where I literally couldn't see what I was doing or when I got over eager and pressed the attack too hard and he hit me with the big blast then clawed me before I could recover.

Taking him out was one of the biggest rushes so far.
