Has invading worlds worked for anyone yet?

i havent been able to successfully invade a world im only level 36 and im experimenting at all the worlds but no luck i keep getting the failure to break in message im just wondering if anyone else has had the luck to invade a world

I'll let you know soon enough, when you use the stone to try to invade the world, if it fails, it gives you back the stone right? Doesn't use it up and fail and just vanish?

It's worked for me 3 times. lots of fun. If you happen to enter a world and see lots of grey phantoms about, give it a shot then. I had an almost 4 or 5 minute duel with some guy, very evenly matched. Lots of surprises, a few parries. Oh yeah.

So that isn't how you get the Black Stone.

To break into someone elses game you need the Black Eye Stone which you get from killing your first NPC Black Phantom.

You're referring to the Red Eye Stone, which is for challenging the host to a PvP battle (i.e. he summons you).

Red-eye stone has always been there. Months ago I did a low-level 25 character and beat the game at that level to get the Red-eye stone. It's a nice item to have at such low level, you can challenge opponents at will.

I just jumped into a guy's game as a black phantom... the end result was hilarious.

Apparently, the guy had zero healing items (caught him at 3-1) and was trying to make a run for the world exit. I cut him off and we commence to dueling. After I killed him, and it was a beautiful kill, I received a message from him. I open my XMB, go to messages, and click the one he sent me.

It said "Thanks **** head"

I laughed for a bit before replying "You're welcome."

I assume many players will have the same reaction, getting po'd at black phantoms for killing them at inopportune moments, but I can't see ever bearing any enmity over getting killed. Would most likely just have a good hard laugh over it (maybe with a tear or two interspersed).

In this game, dying really is half the fun.Honestly, with all the lonely, desolate environments and ever-mounting tension, death is one of the few moments of relief the game offers you. Might as well use that moment to laugh your ass off. : P

well i finally was able to successfully break into a world but i got screwed over :/ it was quiet possibly one of the best duels ive had on demons souls (ive been playing since asian import) the battle lasted for 30mins was truly epic although really the guy was kinda noobish he kept trying to attack me with throwing knives that just left him open to bleed!!!!! :D but anyway after using up all my moons and spices that i had on hand i need to add more to my quick select i backed off to re-prepare myself now when i had to go find him again he started summoning a phantom and he was dam near dead he was mine dammit!!! but the phantom appeared just in time and he had the dragon bone crusher large sword or w/e its called and with 1 swipe knocked me off the cliff -_- we were fighting in 4-2 i was pissed that he ruined a good pvp match that way >.>

I know exactly what you mean.... I'll illustrate with another black phantom story.

Shortly after I killed the dude in 3-1, I felt like I was some kind of god. So I purposefully got myself killed so I'd be able to invade someone else's world. I go back to 3-1 and use the black stone, then the game informs me that I'm invading another world.

.... apparently, the only world it could find was someone who had a moderately higher soul level than me, and significantly better equipment. This person would take incredible chunks of health (with a single handed weapon) while I would just chip away at his. He'd blast me with an occasional spell, and after a few healing items I bit the dust.

To congratulate him, I sent his PSN account a message that read....

From: Porridges
Subject: *gasp!!!!*
Body: You got meh!!!! =(

He replied with "lol! thx"

Even after I got owned, I still had a blast.

And this is why I think, when you're invading a player, he shouldn't be able to see your PSN. Not in a game like this, anyway.

Co-op is different because you're working together and it's nice to add to friends after if you had a good experience.

Even then, if you go to the PSN section of the XMB and scroll down you can look at the last person you played with over any game. Even if it didn't show my name, the playstation would've kept track of who he played with last.

Oh man... I just repelled my first Black Phantom. He invaded shortly after I started 2-2. We romped around the starting area (where the mine car rolls in and nukes) for a good 8 minutes before I finally got him down to a sliver, and he ran off into the mine car tunnel. The blast took him out before I could... almost got me, too.

That was the most intense experience I've had in a long time... heart's still racing. Damn, I love this game. ;p

I sent my would-be assassin a friendly "nice try" via the XMB. hehe.

I haven't invaded anyone's game but this poor soul WindMillStill, invaded mine when i was with my friend and another phantom i summoned. My friend and i were around lvl 36 at the spider archstone 2-2 i believe.

So windmillstill broke in and instantaniously got mauled by all three of us. Hilarious.
