I started as a barbarian last night and I gotta say I see a lot of people dying in like one or two hits around me. But My guy just plows through. If you do have a barbarian how are you leveling your character. I didn't die at all on 1-1 and spent my souls on getting my intelligence up. I think I had 5000 or so. Any tips for leveling a barbarian?

Put lots of points into strength, buy a claymore (6000s) from the vendor in 1-2. Upgrade the crap out of the Claymore and all your enemies will break like the sea upon the shore.

If you can beat world 2 without dying, you have a chance of getting an awesome sword for a strength based character.

Barbarians are my favourite class.

Man, i just created my first character which is a barb.....
I have not quite finished the tutorial though and I come here to read that you are boosting his INT?

What you thinking? er, yer a barb, you should not be thinking.

Barbs want to smash kill destroy!

If someone asks you a question the only proper response is "grunt" and swing.

After you have collected your souls you can then try to interpret what he said before his brains left their holding cage.

Tomorrow and friday I plan on putting some good time into this game, I am stoked that I have like a 36 hour window free.

Buy some armor from one of the merchants.

I was using a barbarian but didn't like it to much. I switch to a mage and the game is a lot easier for my playing style. Thanks for the advice though.

My first character was a barbarian and that was a very bad idea (for me). I could not beat 1-1; I just couldn't. So I started a temple knight and beat 1-1 without dying. That extra armor makes all the difference.

My brother started as a Barbarian today. He has gotten up to the boss on 1-1 and so far he has scraped enough souls to get the battle axe and the plate leggings and gauntlets. He seems to have fun with it now.

Beat the tutorial(vanguard) then beat 1-1 at the end of 1-1 I had about 16,000 souls(including the remains as well) that helps alot!

yea I enjoyed the barbarian at first got through 1-1 with no problem. But going forward it just was too difficult. The mage for me is much easier.

Uhm... there's a free "crushing" battle axe right at the beginning of 2-1 you know ;)

Seen the miners dropping the two large large boulders? Try and find a way up there ;)

I thought I did, but I guess I'll need to look again. I was just happy to find a pickaxe so I could start doing some real damage to the miners.
