So far for me it was the room in 1-1 near where you first encouter Ostrava. There is the guy with firebombs in the room surrounded by explosive barrels and it was a subsequent play through when I was coming from the opposite direction. Instead of taking out the barrels at range I stupidely decided to just charge in and hack him down, which I did, but not before he threw a firebomb that blew up every crate....

But I've yet to die from combat (unless you count that one time I fell off a cliff fighting Miralda), only from falling 50000 times trying to get to the Brushwood armor set in 1-1 which I eventually gave up on.

I lost like all the souls I got by killing Miralda (like over 5000) :( That was a controller launcher right there.

Yeah he had red eyes, there are two ways to go, so I guess I'm going to have to just go the other way, good thing is that I keep getting back to my bloodstain and recovering my lost souls + the ones from the return trips.

Anybody know if bashing objects with your weapon decreases its durability? If so I need to stop, because I try to hit everything I see

Having a boatload of souls, evacuating to the nexus, going away from the game for like 20 minutes, coming back to it and noticing a soul puddle in front of me.

And 0 souls.

And then dying again.

And then realizing I forgot my Makoto blade on, and that I had died over and over and over again just standing there.

The people killing NPC's do it to increase the drop rate in the worlds and to get the gear off those NPC's.

I left a message before that ba$tard, saying "Use fire on next enemy". Fire attacks (turpentine) did a lot of damage, but that guy can heal himself. Still haven't beat him, just decided to skip him for now.

I was more referring to the bloodstains: Since you need to be in soul-form to be able to co-op as blue phantom, the higher parts of the nexus are perfect for suicide to get rid of your body while still having your souls&bloodstain in a place where they're easy to recover.

My most embarrassing death thus far would have to be on 1-2, the bridge run RIGHT BEFORE the blue-eyed knights. I was edging forward, trying to find a safe place to stand so the dragon would firebomb just in front of me, limiting the amount of distance I'd have to sprint to the end of the bridge and conserving stamina. I thought I'd found it, so I started to tweet "It's safe heeeee...." OMGWTFDEATHBYFIRE!!11!

I was so pissed. Totally my fault, of course. I was cursing like a sailor and grinning like an idiot on the run back.

ummm u know theres a ladder that leads down to the brushwood set right? xD jumping down the beams will only get u a colorless demon soul

Early spoilers ahead, I guess.

In the second area (with the ore mines), I used auto target on an enemy and wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. Fell off of a cliff on an easy enemy.

As for the red lancer, I'd suggest coming back after you get as far as you can in the first area. By that time you should have the skills necessary to kill him. If I can do it with the default equipment, I'm sure you guys can as well. The only thing I'd really suggest is making sure to block his first attack and getting behind him in that small square area. The extra maneuverability makes it easier to kill him.

As for (spoilers?) the butcher in the first hidden area, I would suggest just running past her and climbing down the ladder. She should try attacking you down there, and chances are that she'll fall to her death and give you her 4k souls. Just make sure you go back to where she spawns later so that you can get her equipment (mostly useless if you're a guy character).

There's a way to trick him to his death. I'm not sure if they've patched/fixed that yet but it's how I killed the Red Eyed Knight on my Asian version 4 months ago.

As for me, I haven't had a humiliating death yet. I've had funny deaths where I deliberately died to read something such as the message on the bridge in 1-2 that read "Beware above" or something like that.

My worst death was when I was Co-oping with a great blue phantom who was helping me through 2-2. We were attacking a certain enemy, and then its explosion killed me because I stupidly walked back into range at the last second. Felt so bad.

After dying to that badass for the 17th time (I know, I'm stubborn). I beat him with 3 well-timed backstabs. Then I find out later on that Turpentine applied to my broad sword and firebombs would have done the job a lot easier.

As for more humiliating death, I'd have to say attacking the King behind that locked door after the red-eyed knight as a soul level 6 soldier was quite humbling.

I stand ready at the edge of the bridge looking at the large castle wall lined with 2 archers and i see the dragon swoop down to blow a torrent of flame along the bricks, I sprint forward to avoid his next pass and arrive at the portcullis manned by three archers and an intimidating looking knight, a powerful swing of my falchion puts an end to all three archers at the same time and I feel the blood rush to my head as i lock my attention on the heavily armored knight, he thrusts, narrowly missing me as i dodge back, i move forward swiftly, intent on striking and deathblow and.....I cram a bunch of grass in my mouth as he shoves his sword through me like a toothpick through an hordeuvre and my dreams of reclaiming my souls resting near the tower knight spill out onto the ground with my organs.

I seen the pitfall and was like your not going to get me that easy, mind you I had about over 10,000 souls i believe. I ran out to the balcony came back in and stepped right into the same hole I dodged. I almost wanted to quit after than but I needed to get my souls back!!!

I probably replayed that level an extra 3-4 times JUST to slaughter dogs. It was glorious.

Yup, it does; the higher you upgrade it, the better the regeneration rate but I wouldn't rely too much on it because even +5 it just doesn't regenerate at a high enough rate to be too useful in battle. It's more like a fancy secondary effect.

I had quite a good one last night.

I entered 2-1 and saw a gecko right away. I ran up to it and started swinging like a madman, while pursuing the now fleeing gecko! I was so concentrated on the gecko and basically just saw the floor until the gecko jumped over the cliff!

I saw the cliff but couldn't react fast enough and fell to a certainly agonizing death!

The was the first death of the night. I said "oh well" and continued the fight my way through 2-1.

I did great, I was absolutely feeling invincible! I made it to the boss and killed him without dying a single time!

I was now the ultimate warrior in my mind and couldn't be stopped by anyone!

I pushed forward to 2-2 in a heroic fashion! "what do my heroic eyes see?! A Gecko! Aha, this one will surely be mine!"

Not having learned a damn thing I started running after the gecko again in my tried and true "headless chicken" tactic!

I ran and swung my sword and ran some more! Until the gecko jumped over yet another cliff! But this time! Haha, this time I was prepared. I stopped and didn't fall to yet another death!

I said to myself "oh well" again and turned around to finally go spend my 10k souls I had gotten during the whole of 2-1.

....What I didn't think about during my gecko pursuit was that I might've picked up an enemy or....6...

I was standing there, my back to a cliff and 6 pickaxes flying down at me. Death had never felt more deserved.

After that, my ego was slightly bruised but my blood and souls weren't far away! I was certain to get them back! I started fighting my way back to my soul... when suddenly a harmless mining cart came rolling towards me....

My Ego, souls and any notions of being a hero came crumbling down in a big ball of fire, a ball of fire the harmless mining cart turned into...

My scream of pain was heard by the neighbors I'm sure.

Was on 4-1 right before the boss area, under an arch. I decided to save my game there, later when I came back and loaded my save... Little did I know I was standing on a trap panel, and just watched my character take 3 arrows to the back and die. lol. The worst part about it was that my character was alive.

At some point I took quite a break with my female royal and left her in 3-1 after buying some spices. Now, after I got back to her I used a splinter of keystone to exit to the nexus and just rolled down from the 3-x stone down to the first floor of the nexus. What I totally forgot is that I had already cleared all worlds with her and thus, the hole leading to the old one was already opened...

I take it back, my most embarrassing death has got to be when i had this 10 minute epic fight with a black phantom Mind Flayer in 4-2 (you know the one near the end of the level.) I beat him and then stupidly I roll off the stairs and throw those 10 minutes (along with 10k Souls that were waiting for me at the Boss area) down the drain.

God, I'm so stupid.

Not a death, but my most embarrassing moment so far was the boss of 3-1. I defeated it and it did it's thing, and I had to end up looking up the solution even though I had SEEN the solution and had commented to myself "Oh, hey, I bet this is important and/or will cause me some trouble later".

On topic: I was killing Red-eyes over and over again in 1-1 for his awesome 2000+ souls drop (I'm saving up for the ring that gives you extra soul drops) and I got stuck in the corner of a room, trapped between a box and the wall. The game wouldn't let me roll out, so I ended up exhausting myself as he ran up, knocked my shield out of the way and slammed his spear in up to the hilt, OHKO'ing me. I immediately returned and got my revenge, though, so it's all gravy.

There I was prepping to take on the legendary silver knight Garl Vinland. Vinland today you meet your match as I will avenge the moonlight knight's death by besting you with his sword!!! I slay the three poor demons in route with brutal efficiency challenge Vinland from this perch then quickly jog down the slope with sword in two hands. I get to the very small wood bridge preparing to pass when... my foot hits some slime, I slip, and fall in a small hole on the left side of the bridge landing in front of a bunch of psycho babies in a plauge filled mire and get beaten to death like a hobo.

The second trip went a lot better.

Most embarrassing for me so far would be seeing a bloodstain, watching the red outline of a player die to a trap, seeing a message saying "TRAP AHEAD", and then blissfully walking over said trap and dying. Only then did I realize that the mentioned trap is a bloody raised stone on the floor right in front of me.

Anyways, my most embarassing death would be in Shrine of Storms.... I unknowingly got pure black tendency....Had ported from the nexus to the Adjucator's archstone.....Killed the reaper, was running around the ledge, got through the next cave thing.... Got on the next ledge, was running around it when I saw 2 Black Phantoms....Was totally unexpected considering there is normally nothing on the ledge, so I stupidly pressed O and rolled right off the ledge as soon as I saw them (scared I guess? lmao)..

In 1-3, where you run into the Red-Eye knight, I was bust trying to poke him through his shield. I forgot about the archers behind me, though. I got hit by an arrow in the back just as he swung his sword, killing me instantly. Hurt my pride when I came back and nearly had the same happen in reverse (Red-Eye snuck up behind me). Still stuck at that part.

After lmao reading some of your deaths, it's only fair to share my most embarassing death. I was targeting the gecko in 3-2 with magic when I ran out of MP, switched to my rapier and lunged to my death as the gecko went off the ledge. The truely embarassing part was I knew the gecko would die when it hit the ground and all I would have had to do was go down and loot the body.

By this time most of you will have defeated the red-eye knight in 1-1, but he is easily killed by a soul lvl 1 Royal equipped with the Thief's Ring. Just walk up to lock-on range plus one step (you take a step back when casting and you DON'T want to loose your target lock) then cast, backstep, cast and repeat until dead. 8 or 9 shots depending upon WT and if you get a lucky strike or two.

I was in 2-2 for the first time, and I decided to take the left tunnel at the beginning. It was smooth sailing, and none of the enemies posed too much of a challenge. I got to the part where you have to jump from platform to platform to get down to area where Patches and all the bugs are, and came across a corpse with an item at the end of a ledge. I walk up to it carefully and try to grab it, but the game says I can't carry that much weight. So, instead of taking forever and dropping 30 items just to pick up this one item and figure out what it is, I just drop my armor instead. It's heavier, and it would save time, right? Well, I wasn't aware that if you press forward and circle, you do a roll right out of the menu.

Yeah. It wasn't pretty. I died of course, and lose all the Mirdan armor I dropped on the ground. Not too mention the souls I had accumulated from 2-1 and the Armor Spider, because I was so frantic trying to get back I ended up dying again. The item I was trying to nab disappeared as well, so I don't even know what it was I lost everything for. It set me back quite a bit. =/

So I was standing in 2-2, reading up on where the filthy man exactly is. Reading and reading and ready, then I hear the "you just got impaled and you're dead" kind of noise. I look up, my Makoto was equiped the entire time. For those of you that don't know what that means, the Makoto is a good sword but it drains 1% of your HP every 2 seconds. So I flip between that and my white bow constantly. Stupid me, had to run here to report my embarassing death. -_-


-- Now to top it all off, I make it to Patches. Instead of finish talking to him and retrieving the item w/o getting totally screwed, I hit him. I thought I had my white bow equiped and instead, it was the MAKOTO! Screwing me again. Patches tries his hardest to kill me, but I evacuate because I don't want to put up with his bs.

My crystal lizard death was bad, but now I have one that is even more embarrassing than that. Earlier I was playing through 4-1 and had just finished killing the second gold skeleton and was heading for Adjudicator. I know that there is a cliff and a sharp right hand turn to pass through the fog. I know this, but I started thinking of something other than DS and I walked right off the cliff edge. I could understand running to kill the boss, well the black skeleton comes first, and going over the edge with a momentary lapse of attention, but that's not what I did. The Red Knight killed me once, afterwords I discovered his weakness...Gravity The same stairwell I woopsied in right where those 2 barrels are next to a corner turn. Stand diagnolly past those and 9/10x he launches himself down trying to get you.

Sometimes he stabs the barrels instead...just keep him following you till that pit that other people also mentioned their embarrassing death coming from.

AI is amazingly bad when it comes to "Death By Falling" makes it embarrassing when you die that way.

Im a Royal and all i did was spam Soul Arrow. Takes 3-4 direct hits to kill him...when he blocks it 2-3 times he's guard will be open and u can get a direct hit. and just roll back when he's charging and at a safe distance start spamming again.

my most embarassing death......has to be right after i beat maneater. there is an item on the edge of the bridge before you reach the archstone. i was trying to get to the item and ended up falling off the bridge. go me. another one has to be in 2-1, the very first crystal lizard near the blacksmith house. it was my first time trying to kill one, and i ended up chasing him off a cliff. both of us died :D

My most embarrassing by far is as a Black Phantom in 1-3...my strategy was to go farther in the level to wait for the guy so I could use the other enemies as help; the guy is in the area where the dogs are so he already sees me, so I start running past him, I start running up the stairs at the beginning of the stage with the camera focused on him to see if he will try chasing me. To my surprise, the body player hadn't even triggered the rolling fire balls at the top of the stairs, so I had no idea they were coming until the last second, and it was too late, I died.

I was a soul once,in 1-2, helping two other players. Then, right before the boss, a black phantom invades us. The two other dudes took guard at the entrance, shields up, while i made my way through a corridor to the right of the fog (BTW, there's a crystal lizard there). The corridor led to a wonderful sniping post, so I stayed there, scoping out the area. Of course the dragon gave away his location. Finally he reached my two buddies, rolling like a mad man while I tried to get a clear shot. He makes it passed them(not killing them), I suppose he saw the corridor and ran up it. He didn't see me, he made his way to the big gap and started flinging fire bombs at my clueless partners. I switched my Axe and shield to fist(I saw this once), the snuck up behind him, then I did a critical strike from behind. My fist penetrated the armor, then I kicked him down the gap. You can tell what I said (THIS IS SPARTA). He sent me a message saying "You can do that?" =)

Mine would have to be in 3-2 in the area with the cages. I had sommoned a blue phantom and we were trying to find two cages close to each other. We found some, but when i was trying to enter the cage I instead made a mistep and fell to my death. :)

Hah, if those your your most embarrassing deaths then you're all PRO's compared to me. Here are some good ones that are top of mind right now.

3. I was blue phantom helping out a guy in 1-3. He was running past me to the red eye guarding the tower with the merchant. (I was sniping the official on the other side). He's in trouble, I join, draw some bolts and a hit by the knight. DEAD

2. First run through 4-1 (which is where things get serious imho). I get rid of the first two golden boys. Full of adrenaline I run to fight the third. And. Of course. Fall off the cliff. DEAD

1. Farming the red eye in 4-2 for blade stones. roll towards him to swipe him with my mighty dragon axe. Roll right past and down the cliff. DEAD

I was invaded the 2nd time last night by a BP (SL 32) while trying to shot down the big sting rays in 4-1 (in the miniboss area with the hole in the ground).

I got the invasion message whilst aiming with my bow and that was when my "joypad spasms" kicked in full force...

Was in sniper mode (L1) and tried to switch to my sword/shield combo and hide somewhere to wait in anticipation of the PvP that was about to unfold. So I have pressed L1 again to get out of sniper mode when in just that second the guy started talking business to me and chopped away at me. Panicking little me (remember the spasms above!) tried to block his sword swings by pressing L1 again... the thing I did not consider was that I still had my bow equipped so I switch back and forth between sniper mode and the BP happily obliterated me when I finally managed to equip that shield of mine :D

Btw, from invading message to the BP starting to rape me it was literally 10 seconds. I thought they'd spawn in the beginning of the level?!

Common misconception. The BP spawns at the last "checkpoint" they passed when they did the invasion. The archstone is every levels first checkpoint but each and every fog you have to pass is a checkpoint to. In other words he used his black eye stone after he passed the large gate that leads to vanguard.

In 1-3, in the area with the pool, there's a wooden scaffolding overhang that leads to a stone platform that you need to climb up a ladder to get to. Sometimes invaded hosts hide up there with concealing items/magic to escape black phantoms, and this was the case during one of my invasions in that level.

Since the host clearly wasn't coming out, and since I assessed it'd be suicide to climb that ladder, for some reason I thought I could roll from the OTHER stone platform opposite the scaffolding (the one that has an entrance to some ascending stairs, up to the area above the main road) to the scaffolding. Of course this didn't work, and I fell right down on top of the stupid flaming boulder and died almost immediately. Host sent me a message having a good laugh about it (think it was the first time he saw a black phantom kill itself by accident), and I admitted back to him that what I did was retarded.

I had a similar death by fire yesterday in 1-3. I had just entered the level for the first time and got invaded. I was down the alley that leads to Yuria and came running out to face my foe and he was running up the long flight of stairs. I started chasing after him and he trips the trap the top of the stairs and I couldn't get out of the way - Instant death for me! I was pissed at myself but could only laugh it off.

I go to *habitually* roll to avoid a certain attack so I can get behind them for my "spear in the rear" tactics.. and I roll right off the stage. Oh joy of joys.. It's so frustrating but funny at the same time. ^.^

Haha I didn't die there, but I clicked on a bloodstain near the crossbow guy near there. Apparently the player killed everyone, went down the stairs, and walked right into the hole. :D That was a funny replay to watch.

Other than being stupid and getting killed by the red knight or accidentally falling; I love watching how other people died. Half the time I see them aimlessly running off the side of a cliff or staircase, other times I see people attempting to fight rather easy enemies and getting their A$$ handed to them.

When I first started playing I made a knight. I didn't know it was best to avoid the red eye in 1-1 yet. Zerged him six times before I finally realized I just didn't have the stuff to beat him. I also got too close to lava once trying to pick up some loot.

My first time through 3-1. A little late at night and having a nice torrential downpour. Basically the perfect atmosphere to play through a level of utter blackness, creepy moaning, and an obnoxious singing queen. My girlfriend is watching me play out of what I can only call morbid fascination at this point. Sneaking through the whole level, learning the ins and outs of the Mind Flayer folk (fire fire fire, and the bow <3), passing the giant spear launching guard. Destroying the black phantom crossbow girl. Cleared out the tops of the church. Go into the church. Clear out all those zombies too.

Finally start fighting the Fools Idol. Feeling pretty good about it too, liking the fact I can basically pillar hump and flush out the real one and blast her with fire. Going really well actually! Get the boss down to almost no health, and of course get cocky. And like all people who get cocky in Demon Souls I die.

The boss had what had to be the equivalent of 15 health left. I could barely see the sliver on her bar. So thinking I'd be a bad ass and show off away goes my Catalyst and out comes my Crescent Falchion. Going to lop the wench's head off, its only fair! Roll out from behind a pillar after she launches a spell, roll towards the boss with a nice solid lock on!

And step on one of the stun symbols. In the middle of the church. A foot from the boss. And in clear sight of her, and all her clones. Magic in the chest from her, three shots from the clones. I've got a small bit of health left. I roll away from her like a madman and.... right into another stun symbol.

You have died :(

I was doing 4-2 with a blue phantom, he saved my ass several times and we continued on through the level until we got to the secret hall with the samurai skeleton. Managed to kill him by baiting him and letting the blue phantom get him from the back. At this point I have around 35k souls or so.

Followed the cliff to go get my White Bow, but I discovered I couldn't carry it without being overburdened. So... I open my inventory and find a few things to drop. Being too excited to grab my bow I was already moving my analog stick as I hit circle and... rolled off the cliff :mad:

Tried to bum rush back to my corpse and got one hit by the Reaper.

Once more through, trying more slowly, I make it back to the scene of this horror and lo and behold the bow is gone for good. :mad::mad::mad:

Oh well, Lava Bow for me instead :)

I was invading world 4-2 one time. I saw the host and 2 blue phantoms on the level above the first reaper. So I quickly jumped down to the reaper's level to run away from them. Then I got this staggering effect after jumping down (from a high place?). As I was in the staggering effect, this other blue phantom also jumped down and landed on me, which did damage and staggered me some more. But somehow he was able to move immediately and backstabed me once and killed me.

Was quite the death, everything happened so quickly.

He pushed me, fell of the cliff, with me(too my dismay) falling right after him. Thankfully, he died first, allowing me to get my life back(and there was much rejoicing).

This one doesn't involve me dying, it's just rather ironic.

It has a sliver of health left, just as I am using some Old Spice(which didn't make me smell any better) to regain my mana and kill the boss, AintThatAB***h gets impaled and dies. Immediately after his death(while he is still in the game) I kill the boss.

My absolute most embarrassing was my first encounter with Miralda. It was storming outside and stuff was blowing around my porch, so I was freaked out to begin with. Then the laughing... Oh god the laughing. I was so freaked out that I just ran trying to get out of the tower and got caught on the stairs. You would have thought I never played the game before.

My favorite pvp death was when I Invaded for the first time. I have no idea what to do, I look around trying to decide where to go in 2-1. Then up the stairs from the archstone at the beginning of the level comes the player and two hits later I'm demon hunter paste on the rocks.
The worst part was he sent me a message and apologized. lol.

Also after killing both Scirvir and Rydel I got over excited and died because of falls. Crushing them made me feel invincible, having to return for my soul yet again grounded me.

The first time I was absolutely certain I would finally kill that @#$!$ giant club wielding goblin in 5-1 right before the grey door. I had on a clever rat's ring, and a ring of magical sharpness. Kris knife ready in my left hand. +4 moon winged spear and my wand ready in my right hand. Health at 30% for the clever rat's bonus. Ward cast to help protect myself. The trash goblins cleared.

He's got like a sliver of HP left... no time to cast... but no worries there! I quickly switch to my moon winged spear +4, hid the left dpad to swap from my kris knife to my purple shield +6 to survive his swing...

Only to find I had my Talisman of God in my second left slot instead of my shield, and get my skull caved in because I was already at 30% HP.

I invaded a guy in 5-2 who had a phantom buddy with him who was trying to nail me with firestorm. It was a week firestorm - I could survive a round of it at least. I must've killed that blue phantom like 6 times, each time the guy running back to re-summon him. The host himself, tower shield, north regalia, refused to engage me in direct combat for very long. We were in and out of that first reaper cave a couple times - In the course of the battle, I hung out with the gold-bladed skeletons on the cliff, only to have my host and his friend pick off all the enemies painstakingly with a bow (which aimed at me a few times). I chased them back into the cave, killing the blue phantom for the umpth time, and patiently awaited my hosts return at the mouth of the dead manta cave. They charged at me together, and I rolled back, immediately off the cliff, to my death, losing a soul level.

Hmmm... I would have to say trying to get the Large Sword of Moonlight from the Slug's Nest in 4-2. I was so close and I could see the nest but there was a slug right in front of me.

Well I had killed all the others without a problem, what's one more? Well I hit with a strong attack, and it goes back a bit. I hit it again and it's about to die so I just start swinging my sword and it falls of the edge! ...Along with me. I swung too much and my swinging momentum sent me off the edge with the slug.

The ironic part was before I made my last swing I was thinking "I should be careful, this is pretty far up" and then I fell. I stared at the screen, cursed at my stupidity, then started laughing. I was able to get the sword the second time around though. What a great game xD

3-2 right after you unlock the shortcut in the area by doing *SPOILER*. There's one last gargoyle before you drop down to get back to the beginning of the stage. I stepped up, swung my sword, and forgot that you take a step forward when you swing. (unlike with the spears I usually use)

Needless to say, I fell off the edge to my death, leaving my bloodstain in a massively inconvenient location lol.

I've also fallen off the edge executing a backstab on an easy enemy somewhere, but I forgot where.

I had a great one recently.

So the server was being a real pain, I sat around with a blue phantom waiting on a 2nd blue phantom to join my game. I got about 20 "Fail to Join" sessions inviting a friend, and any other phantom I could find a stone for.

Eventually I got bored and decided to go to the entrance hoping i'd find more soul signs there. Then I decided to come back, running as I'd allready killed everything. I forgot to turn into the hallway where the last fog is...and fell off a cliff.

So I'm nine levels ahead of my buddy, who wanted to co-op with me around Halloween. I'd been leveling up a storm of late and decided to hold off so Kyle and I could summon each other. So I stashed up a TON of souls because spending them would put me too far ahead. Over seven hundred thousand souls, actually.

And then we decided to fight the Flamelurker. ####...

It's a crying shame that following the Halloween update this boss was totally, horribly broken, because it slaughtered me, Kyle and our buddy Mike no less than seven times total. We kept going back and getting eaten, going back and getting raped. It was awful, and that was before my world tendency hit pure black.

Thankfully, every time we'd go back I'd make a beeline for my souls and manage to keep them. Until the last run we did, when we arbitrarily took a different route to the Flamelurker... and I ran headfirst off of the only bottomless pit in the entire subterranean tunnel system.

I lost 730,000 souls with that death. I just kind of watched my character fall in total silence, too sad to even get angry. I felt kind of detached, just set the control down quietly and gave up hope.

We never did manage to kill the Flamelurker. The very next day FROM deactivated the insane damage curve and I soloed the Flamelurker on my first try. I hate my life.

was in panic trying to re-organize my setup for the fight but the phantom showed up so fast...

I was still in my setup screen and didn't recognize where I was. saw the phantom on the corner of my eye.

I tried to move away to finish up but I moved a little too much, too fast and... I fell off the cliff to my death.:oops:

I was so looking forward to my first PvP.

anyway, the second time I got invaded I didn't make that mistake.

went with what I had and... man, it was intense. I think the fight lasted about good 15-20 minutes. we were moving all over the place.

I won. :D

I just remembered the lamest death I've ever had.

I was in 3-2, at the very beginning, waiting for someone to pick up my Soul Sign. I had left it on the second window, by the stairs. After 5' I started to get bored and begun forward rolling into the wall. At some point, lame me, I didn't give directional input but instead just pressed the O button. Results? Backstep, right into the pit.

Yup, I know that sucked. xD

I think 4-2 has the potential for some seriously embarassing deaths. I remember getting invaded while I was just about to reach the slug room, and since I wanted a challenge I decided to backtrack and meet my black phantom. As I exited the doorway and came out to wear the cliffs are, I caught a glimpse of him with his large sword of searching and adjudicators shield, and thought "this will be cake." So I planned to roll into him and cast firestorm, unfortunately I rolled right off the cliff to my doom. He didn't even have to swing his sword at me >.<

I had a good laugh.
