Went to pick it up, they said everything was in the box, I argued with them for like 15 minutes and they were super ignorant so I just gave up. :(

That sucks. The gamestop where I go to has great employees. They've set aside a preorder bonus for me so I am guaranteed to get one when the DE comes in tomorrow.

Yep! Amazon.com definitely wrapped my preorder stuff with the game. I got the DE edition. I'm using Amazon.com for pre-ordering from now on...

Stupid Gamestop

I had gone to Gamestop in my area and was given the Deluxe Edition boxing. I wnet home, peeled off the wrapping, and found only the Strategy Guide and video game box & disk. I was upset that the Art book and Soundtrack wasn't included in the box. I went back to Gamestop and told them there should have been an Art book inlcuded. The clerk found and pulled out the art book and they apologized for not having given it to me earlier. Once I had the book/cd in my hands I was happy. You should go back, maybe print out proof that the art book was separate and available for all who pre-ordered.

Some, but not all, try to keep a lot of those extras thingies in order to sell them off later.

My artbook was separate, but came wrapped in the same cellophane as the main box. Why on earth do people buy from gamestop? If you have an internet connection and a credit card try amazon. I've ordered my last 3-4 games from them and they always arrive on launch day. Demon's souls had free shipping and was a couple bucks cheaper than list price.

That exact same thing happened to me. The clerk first tried the "everything should be in the box" argument, but I told her I already opened it and they weren't there. She apologized after she found it within a lower drawer behind the counter.

I found this odd, because I had arrived at Gamestop before she even opened the package that contained all the copies of Demon's Souls that had arrived. I suppose they had the artbook and soundtrack days before the actual game.

In my experience, that's usually the case. I remember getting TWO faceplates for the US 360 release of Trusty Bell. One I got the day I reserved, the other I got the day I picked up the game (two different employees).

I was bad.

My local gamestop actually showed me the book/soundtrack 3 or 4 days ahead of scheduled ship date, but I wasn't allowed to take it out of the store until the game itself arrived.

Sounds like you might need to find another vendor to buy from, or find another gamestop.

I also noticed the guy mention only getting two books... but having three preorders. I wonder how that's going to work out.

I hope you told them afterwards that they just lost any future business from you.

Amazon's is actually double wrapped. First the artbook/soundtrack is wrapped to the game, and the game has its own wrap itself.

I'm pretty much finished ordering from gamestop a while ago, I get the games from amazon earlier and on release day. My ECA discount basically pays for the free release date shipping. Much rather get it from them and be sure I get my stuff, and get it at 11:30 am and not wait until 6 pm.

This same thing happened to me and my friend, We ordered the Deluxe edition from a local Play n Trade and neither of us got our book. Now my friend works at this same store as the assistant manager and apparently the distributor didn't sign some agreement with Altus that shipped the art books with the deluxe edition.

WTF? It says right on the site that ALL retailers (play n trade included) should be eligible

Same thing here - Picked up my DE Demon's Souls yesterday at noon, and I had called the day before I ask if it would be in. I was told it was ALREADY IN (on the 5th).

When I got there, I was wearing my white coat/sthetoscope/scrubs from the hospital because it was pouring rain and I didn't have time to change but the jerk still treated me like an idiot. Oh well I guess my service to society is less important than his.

Anyway, I go "I'm here to pick up my copy of Demon's Souls"
He asks my name, and then says "I don't think it's in, unless it's in this box"
And the first box he opens is chock full of Demon's Souls, wrapped new. So at first, I was pretty damn happy that I knew I was getting a new, wrapped product. He rang it up, and I asked "What about the pre-order goodies?" he goes, it should be in there. I knew it wasn't, so, i mentioned that. He opened a cluttered desk of things and started rummaging around, until I saw a brown book that looked like it and pointed it out. He pulled it, and low and behold, it was a (somewhat banged up) copy of the Pre-order art book/soundtrack.
He goes "Your lucky, its the last one."

So, right then I lost my temper a little bit and went. "I'm lucky huh? Well, let me ask you a question... If I am the first person to pick up the game FROM THE SHIPMENT BOX, why is there only ONE PRE-ORDER BONUS?"

He started stammering out an excuse but I just left.

I've learned a long time ago that if you care about a preorder bonus you never order from Gamestop since the employees aren't going to be working there for more than three weeks anyway and could care less if you get what you specifically gave them a down payment on a product for.

They aren't paid to care about knowing which games include bonuses and even if they know half the time they'll have plundered them for their buddies anyway. Most of the time I don't really need extra clutter toys, art books I'll flip through once or whatever but in the off chance there's a soundtrack or something I think would be cool I make sure I order from Amazon.

Yeah my Gamestop gav me this crap to but I was in a hurry for various reasons and didn't think to check the box closely. Fortunately I ordered a second copy from Amazon which obviously had the items. It was one of the stupid newbies working that day so I take it with a grain of salt but I am not particularly happy. They always did me right in the past but I am a very fickle guy who has a problem with forgetting bad turns. Too many more new idiots and spending basically the same price at Amazon will look very attractive.

Your experiance mirrored mine almost exactly, I didn't get the chance to give them a piece of my mind, because they "found one" before I got pissed. The ONLY reason I order from them is it assures me I get it the day it releases, though I may have to just become a member of Amazon Prime and say to hell with them once and for all.

I'm really tired of their schenanigans.

Seriously man, thats just a waste of money to become a member of prime. Sign up for ECA, I think the promo to join for free is still going on. Get a year of a membership for free, which gives you unlimited 10% off coupons at Amazon. The 10% off coupon itself is just enough to cover the release date shipping (if offered), plus you get that on top of the already current 5% discount on the game.

For example, I bought Demons souls standard edition for a total of $51 dollars with release date shipping, but that time I had an extra $5 dollar off coupon, without it, I would of paid 56 dollars and change total for release date shipping. I got the pre-order bonus and the game at 11:30 am shipped to my house yesterday.

Should have opened it right there. "Mr Arrogant Sir, as you can see there is no art book here."

I bought from GameStop because the local game retailer (who I had pre-ordered with), said they didn't have any and even if they did they couldn't give it to me until the 7th. I indicated the it releases on the 6th, but didn't press the matter. Just went a few stores down and bought it at GameStop. I'll have to go in and get my pre-order money back, or roll it to something else.

They usually keep the preorders and extra goodies together with a rubber band. So i got my artbook with built in sound track

I didn't get my artbook and soundtrack either. I went to pick up my copy of the Deluxe Edition in the evening, on its release date, and the guy behind the counter said they only recieved 3 artbooks, and ran out earlier that day. I'm a little disappointed, but it's not their fault. They always provide excellent customer service, and the fact that I dealt with someone who knew what I was talking about, and actually sounded sorry, leads me to believe that he was telling the truth.

Anyways, I got the 150 page strategy guide that came with the Deluxe Edition, and best of all, I get to play an amazing game, so I don't have any reason to be upset, like some of the customers the guy told me about, who got angry and even threatened him for not producing the pre order bonus.

Honestly, if they did not give me the pre-order bonus or tried to sell me an opened copy I would ask for my money-back. Gamestop is notorious for this.

Amazon, is awesome about this stuff. Buy from them. Sure you have to wait a week but it is worth it!

If you have a friend that works at Gamestop it helps. Tell them you will NOT pay unless they give you an unopened copy with the bonuses. (That is what I do when I go to my hometown and buy from my best friend).

Nope. We do NOT have stock on hand. The problem lies with the store. The reason for this is that the goods get sent from the manufacturer (that is, the print shop that makes the goodies) direct to the central warehouses for the store chain. From there, it gets sent to the stores. It doesn't get sent to Atlus first.

This means that if you preordered and didn't get your artbook, the issue is with the store itself, or rather with the shippers who didn't send enough supply to the individual store. Calling Atlus will not help you.

Prime is an absolutely great deal if you split it with some family members; it comes out to $16 a year if you split it five ways. That's what, release day/two-day shipping for two, maybe three games? After that, free shipping + 10% off from the ECA coupon. Also, the Prime shipping applies to nearly everything Amazon sells, while the ECA coupon only applies to video games; my Prime membership has already paid for itself after I bought some books and a bluray player. Hell, even if I wasn't splitting the cost it'd probably pay for itself within a year.
