View Full Version : Is there a point to my doing this?

I have this habit while playing dungeon crawling RPGs to bump into every wall in case there is a secret room or something. My doing this is the result of a burnt in lesson from many years of playing similar games and while I can do it quickly, it would be nice to know ahead of time if it is necessary. Step, Turn, Bump, Turn, Turn, Bump, Turn, Step Again; this pattern can get old when it seems to yield no results and it also wastes a bit of time too.
So, can one of you who know tell me if this old habit is worth doing while playing this game? Thanks.

Ah, Final Fantasy VI.
I'm still playing through Persona too, but it is possible that they forgot to seal a wall with a blocker tile.
I don't think Atlus would do that, but things do happen from time to time.
The weirdest things occur as a glitch sometimes....

In a similar vein, is there any reason to step on every square in a map? Persona 2 had that annoying sidequest and it's just second nature to me now, but I'd still like to know if I'll get any rewards for doing it.

Well. I wasn't looking for glitches, so much as secret rooms and paths. If you've ever played games like Phantasy Star or even Etrian Odyssey, that is the sort of thing I am talking about. I was simply wondering if anybody knew whether or not there anything like this existed in Persona, but from your answers so far I'd be inclined to think not.
When I say that this is an old habit, I mean it, like a 20+ years old trained habit.
