Gamestop Confirmation Call!

Seeing as there's an amazon thread, I wanted to make one for those who preordered from gamestop. I just got a call saying that Demon's Souls will be arriving Tuesday afternoon.

Anyone else get their confirmation?

yea I got a call also but I am a bit confused as i called my gamestop earlier today before i got my call and they said that it would come in on wenesday and not tuesday so I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow afternoon and pray it comes in

Bringing the update here, thanks for making the thread. Just got my text too. Looks like we'll have it in the shipment coming mid-day or evening tomorrow.

Don't forget to trade in your games.

Regular edition price is $59.99 plus tax, so depending on what the end price is ($64.94 here before mah discount <3) don't forget that 3 $20s ain't gonna cover it unless the money you put down is enough.

Sadly there are no power-trades running for Demon's Souls specifically, but the promotions did change just today. Bring in at least 3 games from PS3, 360, or Wii if you want a decent deal, 4 is better.

I am lucky in that I bought from both Amazon and Gamestop and already paid off both in full. Though I admit I played the trade in game with Gamestop and only actually paid 20 dollars of real money on the game.

i already had my DE paid off on and I just went friday the 25th i went and paid off my CE on Dragon Age Origins but i didn't get a call from gamestop I got a text but I called earlier and he told me to call at like 12-1 tomorrow but I got that text and got EXCITED lol Demons Souls hopefully tomorrow

If you got the call/text you can bet on it being there by closing time tomorrow.
If it's not, then politely ask for the information for the district or regional manager and ask them if they know of a store that has it and can get your reserve moved to one with extra copies because you're upset.

I recommend patience instead, but hey, they told you it was going to be there and it wasn't? That'd be a shameful business practice.

I called GS and spoke to the manager earlier, he told me they wouldn't get their copies until Wednesday...of course he also had to ask me what platform the game was on so he could look in his system (what does that say about him?)

HOWEVER, an hour ago I got an automated voice-mail saying my store would have the game in tomorrow afternoon.

That's pretty much the only reason, but you can still sell games elsewhere anyways.

Well the game is delayed in Canada it seems at EBgames/Gamestop.

I called a few stores today and all I got was, "Sorry sir, the game is delayed to tomorrow."

I'm really hoping we don't get screwed over on this one like the typical Atlus releases. If it really is tomorrow I'll be happy, though I have a feeling another delay is going to happen...

Guys just wanna give you a little bit of info. I work at a Gamestop in Puerto Rico and what mostly happens upon release is that games get delayed a day, why? Well because we're in an island and it takes a little bit more time for our shipments to get here. Although that isn't always the case. If the game has a "Street Date" It actually arrives earlier at our stores, so that we can garantee it will be there by the expected launch date. Not saying this will be the case with all Gamestops in the U.S., but some might run into this delay. If the game does not have a street date we tell people here in Puerto Rico to expect a call "a day or 2 before the game is released" just to be really honest with them and explain the situation. Now as i said before this is not a problem with games with release dates (Like NBA 2K10 for example). Still, sometimes we do get 'em at release so it's a matter of checking up around 1-3pm and asking for the game. I reserved 2 copies of Demon's Souls and i got a call yesterday,so it may or may not have arrived today (My guess is no). Just wanted to clarify why some Gamestops get their games at release date and others dont. :)

P.S. Will post if it arrived at my store today ;)

EDIT: Sorry for not posting anything was playing it till the wee hours of the day. We only got one DE in and 8 Demon's Souls. We sold out of them in like 2 hours lol :).

i put the "drive" part in there because for most people (like me) are not in driving distance of the rental place and if it was in you needed to be able to drive....lucky for you thats not the case with you tho and GL with the place....still waiting on my call back here

Yeah, the French manual usually causes delays in Canada it sucks. Seriously though complaining this much is just silly, I could see if it was delayed until next week (I hope this really doesn't happen) then you could rightfully complain but not at that level which is just whining.

Either way, it isn't just you who has to wait the extra day. Most of us Canadians have to as well.

Now if I can just survive another three hours until I'm home. I would have pre-ordered closer to where I work (an hour from that Gamestop), but I like supporting my former store whenever I can.

That's because the inventory that it shows you online only updates each morning, and as of last night no GameStops should have had the game in stock, so website reflects that. However, shipments come in everyday (my store around noon I think), and I know my store has it and I will pick the game up when I go to work tonight.

So, what I am saying is that you should wait until the afternoon or call now and tell them to give you a call when the game comes in, as it probably will today (though they may not think so because it isn't street dated for today)

My ex-manager told me Wednesday when I dropped by last night, and when I called him earlier he was surprised the game had arrived today. Unless it's a super anticipated title, most Gamestops (or at least the ones I worked at around my area) are just used to the game arriving the next day.

(Take that with a grain of salt as I haven't actually worked at a Gamestop in five years, so shipping practices may have changed)

Ya, I like to be Open, blunt, and uncaring of others opinions usually, unless its to either attack at me, or someone assuming me for something I know I am not. I am always assuming or taking things with a grain of salt or expecting the worst case scenario, it won't stop me from doing as I wish, but blowing up like that in any fashion, online or not, venting is a normal thing of humans.
