So according to some individuals (Joystiq podcast), that this game is insanely hard compared to the Japanese version. Anyone know if this is true?

I have it right now and it doesn't seem to be too hard. Granted I don't have the import to compare it to. It's not to hard though, just don't make too many mistakes.

I thought the whole thing was that atlus wasn't changing anything except some translation errors and some new servers.

BS all 4 versions have exactly the same difficulty.

Yeah sounds bogus to be sure. PS: could you people who got the game from retailers who don't follow the rules stop posting about it. You are making me want to raid my local Gamestop and I would rather not get tossed in jail tonight for holding the place up in an attempt to get my copy early.

Hmmmm, yes......the only way to do this is if we raise our pitchforks together and raid the local Gamestops for our copy of Demon's souls...Ok...well that or we can wait till the 6th when the servers come online.....but c'mon pitchforks and everything........C'mon!

No alterations have been made to difficulty in the North American version of the game; it is no more or less difficult than the other region's (Japan, Asia) releases.

Well, I'm not sure I believe that, because there are people who have done comparisons and it appears there are a few differences which affect the difficulty.
- Poisoncloud, acidcloud have been nerfed. No more cheap kills.
- Instead of saving every 5-10 minutes, it saves after any enemy has died.
- Yurt's armor no longer protects against plague. Enjoy that swamp area.
- Ostrava cannot die before 1-4. He resurrects if killed.
- Since Ostrava can't die before 1-4, it's impossible to get Demonbrandt or Doran's armor before 1-4. Not like it'd help you since poisoncloud/acidcloud were removed.
- The blacksmith in 2-1 has been moved to 2-3.
- There's no longer a bad ending. You cannot kill the maiden in the last area anymore. When you beat the game you get the red soulstone anyways.
- As of yet, there are no level restrictions when playing online. I've only encountered a few online, but the +-15 level thing is gone.

If you played online you didn't play the NA version I think.

The servers aren't on until tommorow (the 6th) so if you were online with DS then it wasn't the US version :)

You lost all credit right there, the servers aren't online for another day. I don't believe a word you just said, if there were such alterations I'm positive Atlus would of mentioned it by now.

Ugh are you trying to spread misinformation on purpose :bs:
- Acid and Poison clouds power were adjusted for all versions
- The game has always saved after any action
- Oh yes it does
- Yes he can (I'm assuming you are confusing this with the glitch involving ostrava, that was patched months ago)
- No they werent
- No he wasn't
- Yea right, and good job with the spoilers
- The level restriction has never been a set number, narrower in lover levels, wider in higher.
So FFS stop licking acid frogs, Atlus has said themselves that they are not making any changes to the difficulty. Only the translation is different. Any actual changes to the game mechanics would have to be done by From Software.

Well, if that's the case I can confirm that most of those information is a total BS.
I would really know that pathetic person who came up with this sh*t, I mean some points are just downright ridiculous.
"- The blacksmith in 2-1 has been moved to 2-3." LOL where the f*** do you want to place Ed in 2-3?

Apparently in the US version, you can fly to the moon and find a moon rock that makes all enemies go into a fetal position.

Now THAT would make ATLUS get a +1000 kudos from me.
Anyways I suggest closing this thread, false information comes from a typical 4chan-boy from /v/.
