View Full Version : What's the difference between the PS2 and Wii versions?

I don't have a Wii yet, but I DO plan to get one, if nothing else, then for Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, Metroid 3, and other Nintendo staples. I even buy games for systems I don't own yet, knowing that one day I'll get the system, and those games may be hard to find by then.

However, PS2 is my main system, I have about 250 games for it (and 150 on the PS1.)

Are there any differences between the two versions, or does the Wii have better graphics or widescreen? Some PS2 games CAN run in 480p, can't they? Is the Wii control scheme awkward, or easy to use?

Which version do you think I should get (and both isn't an option.) I will keep older games like PS1 titles that have been remade, but I see no reason to buy the same game on two current-gen systems, with minimal differences.

I own the Wii version and even though it has some motion controls, I prefer using the classic controller.

I'm not sure if there's any graphic improvements, though.

IIRC the Wii version supports Widescreen and the PS2 version does not. I'm not positive though.

I like the Wii control setup, it's very comfortable and suited for long periods of dungeon crawling. I don't think I could play the game with a standard controller after playing it with the Wii remote, it's just that comfortable and easy to use.

I think you'll find just as much difference in the Harvey Birdman game, except PSP-Wii
