It's going to be interesting to see if Epic makes any announcements at GDC this year..

However, "If" Gears of War 2 is in production.. And considering Epic and Microsoft has a sorted history.. It may not be impossible to think GoW2 will also see a PS3 release (To current knowlage, Unlike PGR and Halo. Microsoft dosn't own the rights to "Gears").

Another Gears game (maybe not Gears of War 2, but another game in the series) has already been announced. Kudo Tsunoda, formerly of EA Chicago, joined Microsoft and is heading up a Gears project.

(Tsunoda's involvement probably doesn't mean anything good for the game, but we'll see.)

you can put money down that a Gears 2 is in development as well as "Gears Wars" and other ####ty spin-offs are also probable.

The first one was kind of cool. I liked the co-op gameplay, but thats the only major reason I enjoyed it actually. Seeing as how most games are doing this now I don't see why I would wan to pick up a sequel any time soon.

I despised Gears of War's awful online multi-player, I was disappointed by the short single player, the story was typical and cliche, but I loved the co-operative gameplay, on and offline. The first one's was good enough (my second favorite co-op game ever, behind Kirby Super Star) that I'll buy the second one just for that. The video looks to be a lot like more of the same, but I don't really have a problem with that. Unless, of course, it's short... again.

I like how the framerate has been improved. I suck at multiplayer, but this is one of those games I'll enjoy playing co-op in, with my brother.

Speaking of Mountain Dew, we have some unopened Halo 3 Mountain Dew bottles sitting on the top shelf in the kitchen :P Can't wait to see those orange drinks turn green.

they improved it quite a bit. Made it look like an actual war was going on. I will probably play this now, just because the amount of detail looks improved all around, characters on screen, size of environments, and large characters all fighting seems neat.

It looks a lot more of the same though, just look at the unchanged cover mechanics, weapon equipment system, and chainsaw attacks. All in a larger scale though.

If you want to talk about Resistence 2 then make a thread for that game, also I don't think the mods here want you posting scans. Also I can't believe you have the nerve to call GoW2 generic when Resistance used the classic bald military guy and was a pretty meh game anyway....

Gears of War 2. I won't lie---I'm excited. And throwing it out there, the first Resistance didn't do it for me. I remember I loved the effects when taking a bitch out with a headshot using my sniper rifle. That is about it.

passive is out because Epic can't write for ####. Gears 1's story was not even a focus, so of course you wont get the same experience as you would from MGS, where the story is the main element. Gears story is terrible, generic, and poorly told.

I see what he was getting at though, action, and lot's of it, will be in Gears 2.

I beat it last night. It didn't really have as many memorable moments as the first game, and it didn't really add anything new to the genre like the original did with the cover system and reloading, but it's stilla a solid and fun gae, what someone would expectf rom a sequel...
