Not enough R-Type Command love here, so let me put in this suggestion for a sequel to get more people addicted.

After a 6 month deployment to Iraq with this game along for the ride, I have to say that the original R-Type Command gave me at least 200 hours of play and kept me thinking strategically the whole time. I honestly could not believe that what I thought was the ending was in fact HALFTIME! And the second half was much much harder than the first. That was one of the best video game experiences in quite some time. I'll definitely be picking up R-Type Tactics when it comes out in the USA.

Improvements I'd like to see:

Randomized maps - Resources show up in different spots so you can't just go back and farm so easily. Enemy locations and types start in different spots and vary themselves to match the current level of player skill.

Graphical upgrade - Obviously for the PS3

Ship customization - Interchangeable parts for different play styles. Create your own Capital Ship. More Forces in more places.

Combat System overhaul - Remake combat system into a partially controlled environment (I'm thinking of the combat style from Ogre Battle (Best, Strong, Weak, and Leader) and the ability to use special abilities of individually trained pilots (like Tarot cards from Ogre Battle).

Role playing choices - Multiple endings/non-linear paths depending on how your play style works. Do you do research and concentrate on understanding the Bydo? Do you destroy mercilessly with sheer force? Do you concentrate on strategy with small numbers of casualties? Each method lets you access different weapons, tactics, pilots, abilities, and maps.

The R-Type games are made by Irem not Atlus. Also Atlus US don't develop any games they only publish.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing a console version in the future. Though I'd rather Irem got with making Steambot Chronicles 2 (PS3).

Why don't people look at FAQ before they make a thread? you obviously put a lot of effort into that but now it's going to waste.
