Do you lose your items? Reading a recent review for the game.... You lose your items upon death?

Someone go into more detail please... I want to know this. And what happens when you die while in soul form?

And on a side question, does equipment (armor/weapons) get damaged? If so can you repair them?

If you die two things happens for sure.

1. You lose all your souls
2. You have to start all over from the beginning of the level

If you are in body form and die, you will return as a soul. With that you lose half of your health bar capacity.

So you will not lose any items.

Since Alex covered the first part of your question:

Yes your equipment will get damaged with use, and yes, it can be repaired by the blacksmith in the Nexus.

What happens if the endurance of your equipment reaches critical point or, Zero? and it technically 'Breaks' ? Is it that when equipment that hit 0 with endurance vanishes? or does it just mean it becomes unusable until it does get repaired? Do stats or abilities of equipment degrade varying on the damage that is done on equipment?

Not strictly true ! when you die , you drop your souls . when you respawn, go straight back to the spot where you perished and pick up your souls from the ground .....but if you die before you do so , then yes , your souls are lost .

When your equipment breaks, while you can still use it, its effectiveness drops like a brick, making your bare fists better than your shattered weapon. I do believe you can still repair broken equipment though. As for how the degradation rate is determined, I honestly don't know the specifics, or whether it's static, or based on material/weapon type, so hopefully someone else can answer that.

I believe enemies can break their equipment too. I seem to remember seeing a video of an enemy knight breaking his sword to a stub, and still trying to fight with it.

You know...I bet dueling a friend, both using broken swords, would be hilarious. Just like the good old days with vs. mode in Way of the Samurai.

I don't recall seeing anything about playing as a spirit. So, when you die, is your character bound by the same type of physics as when the character is alive or can your spirit walk through walls and jump higher?

Exactly the same, just with less health. Different visual effect and sound when you get hit as well.

Can't make it fun being dead, can they? Oh well! On October 6th, I'm gonna be happy b@$t@rd when I get my collectors edition. Tired of killing everything in Oblivion, need a new challenge!

No one wants to promote dying, lol

They want you to REGRET and hate dying as much as possible! If it were FUN! Everyone would jump off a cliff and go: "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Instead, it SHOULD be: "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-" >.<

Funny, because I jump off the cliff in 4-2 when I want a quick way to get into Soul Form so I can play helper/invader.

Superhappyfuntimes.

I have a question about dying that I have not seen answered anywhere. Or asked for that matter. ;)

If I am in body form, and die, I leave a bloodstain with my souls in it. Let's say instead of going straight to my bloodstain, I skip over it and beat the boss of that level. Or I beat a boss of a different level. Now that I am back in body form, does my bloodstain disappear?

And what if after I die I join another player's game before getting back to my bloodstain? Does my bloodstain from my game appear in the host's game so I can touch it to recover my souls? Also, if I die in the host's game or if we beat the boss in the host's game, does my original bloodstain disappear in my game?

As confused as I am about the death mechanic I am really looking forward to playing!

I'd assume......beat the boss, you may get your body, ya....but....the souls are still in that blood stain that you left behind, and you left them there to possibly vanish :|?

and leaving your 'World/realm' to go to anothers, I'd assume your bloodstain vanishes due to other peoples realms/games dont track your worlds' progress, I would EASILY assume.

Idunno XD I havent played the game though, I may be wrong, may be right.

If you die your bloodstain will always remain in that place until you get back to it. The only way it will disappear is if you die before getting to it. In theory you could die in one level leaving your bloodstain and go complete another 5 levels before returning to it. As long as you don't die.

If you join another persons game in multiplayer your bloodstain does not carry into their world. So if you have joined a game as a blue phantom but have left souls lying in your own game then dying will only kick you back to your own game. This means the bloodstain will still be in your game when you return.

Hopefully this helps!
