Which Persona 2 Cast Did You Prefer?

There is a big difference to the cast in IS to EP. IS is mainly high school teenagers, while EP is all Adults. Even though IS is my favorite game, there is just something too damn awesome about the characters in EP that make me favor them. Mostly because the problems they deal with, facing their demons and what not.

Anyway,

Which cast did you prefer and why?

Overall, I think I have more love for the EP cast, but it's a very close call and IS gets so many bonus points just for Jun.

But one of my favorite relationships in P2 is Tatsuya and Katsuya and their complete fail at being a well-adjusted family, which gives the edge to EP.

I like the IS cast a lot, but I really love the EP cast. I don't really know why, I just do. Well, part of it is definitely that they're adults rather than teenagers, which is really unusual in JRPGs and which I appreciate, being all old now myself.

I like the EP cast more than the IS, My reasons well I don't know probably cause they were all adults rather than teenagers for a change.

I really dislike it when people, come up with things about liking one part of a series more than another due to a single minute factor, just because they were adults doesn't make them a better cast, it's like saying p3 was so radical just because they used guns to summon persona, sure it's a nice change of pace but in the long run it really doesn't amount to anything.

Well, I think there's a big difference between "I liked EP because it had an adult cast" and "I liked P3 because it had headshots."

While playing game after game full of teenage heroes was pretty cool when I was actually a teenager, I'm 25 years old now. Sometimes I like a story that's more about characters my own age! Katsuya and Maya having to balance their actions in EP with the fact that it could get them in deep #### at work or possibly fired is a little more relatable to me these days than, for example, certain P3/4 social links and their OMG I'M SO NERVOUS ABOUT DATING TEE HEE.

It might not amount to anything for you, but it was a big factor in my enjoyment of EP.

Definitely Eternal Punishment's. IS' was cool and all, but Baofu, Ulala, Katsuya, Maya?

EP wins. RPGs with teens are a dime a dozen. Ones with adult casts, not so much.

Why?

Two words: Baofu's Coins.

Most original weapon ever. Kudos to the brain behind the Qi Gong + Martial Arts = Killer Change concept.

Also, the Baofu/Ulala fights had a lot more comedy and tension to them compared to the sophomoric insult-trading between Lisa and Eikichi.

But nobody's saying they weren't well-written characters because they're teenagers, they're just saying they preferred the adult cast. The thread title is which cast do you prefer, so I don't see anything wrong with going on subjective criteria. That's what preferences are by nature!

And while IS did have two adults, it did not have anywhere near the focus on more adult problems that EP had.

I think I prefer EP's cast. IS's cast is wonderful (thanks to Lisa, Eikichi, Jun and Maya) but EP's cast was just.... wow. =)

......Plus it had Katsuya in it. <3

Though Maya in protag-mode kinda killed it. I liked her spicy and vivacious version in IS.
