Atlus Collaboration
On August 27th, 2009, game company Atlus happily announced that this was a collaboration project. The press release reads as follows:
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 27TH, 2009 - Atlus U.S.A., Inc, today announced that they have teamed with R&B sensation, Queen Latifah, to produce a brand new track for Shin Megami Tensei: Persona for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable). Persona, a remake of the first entry in the critically-acclaimed RPG series, will be released in North America within the calendar year. "Beginning with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, the series has become well-known for its unique hip-hop soundtrack," explained Aram Jabbari, manager of PR and Sales. "We believe that Queen Latifah, a household name in North America, will both broaden the series' audience as well as strengthen the unique and impressive sound that fans of the series' music has come to expect." Queen Latifah's single, "Persona", will be featured in the opening movie for the game, and will be featured on the two-disc soundtrack that comes packaged with every copy of SMT: Persona.
I have a strong feeling that this is probably the work of trolls, but I figure I ought to make sure.
