So I'm playin through Luminous Arc 2 and found this little gem that some person on the localization team (who's probably laughing their ass off when they read this) managed to sneak in there. I have no idea what the Japanese here would have been, but nonetheless, this got me on the floor laughing:

"Risin' up, out on the streets!
Protect the people of Carnava!
There's no cowards,
only an Iron Wall,
with hot bods,
it's the Squad of the Tuuuusk!

It's the Squad of the Tusk,
and we win every fight!
We train all week,
from the sunrise to the duuusk!
You can sleep sound civilians,
because we're out on the job!
You're defended by all of the
Squaaaaad... of the Tuuusk!"

Captain Gaston is my hero. Spirit of the jungle animal indeed.

Note: If you missed the reference:

It's the Squad of the Tusk,
It's the Eye of the Tiger,

and we win every fight!
it's the thrill of the fight!

We train all week,
Risin' up

from the sunrise to the duuusk!
to the challenge of our rivals!

You can sleep sound civilians,
And the last known survivor

because we're out on the job!
stalks his prey in the night!

You're defended by all of the
And he's watching us all with the

Squaaaaad... of the Tuuusk!"
Eye.......... of the Tiger!

That took a whole lot longer for someone to notice that I thought it would. :) I figured since Eye of the Tiger was one of the beginning songs in Rock Band 2, everyone would be like, "Ohhhh."

Apparently not.

In Japanese it was just that guy singing a song that didn't make any sense. I figured Gaston would be all into jock rock.

Also the opening lines are supposed to match the meter of pre-chorus lines.

But does he reach an appropriate level of funkiness?

Oh yes. Most definitely.

How random, I wrote song lyrics for Devil Survivor to Eye of the Tiger as well. Also, I did Knights in the Nightmare to the tune of Livin' on a Prayer, so I applaud this and am sad I didn't notice myself.

To be brutally honest, that's exactly how I figured it out. I just got Rock Band 2 a month or so ago (playing the hell out of it still ^_^) and Eye of the Tiger remains one of the favorites me and my friends like to play when we get together.

I also realized that too (in fact, starting off with "Risin' up" is what tipped me off), but I couldn't figure out how to piece it together like that since the second part of the first verse wasn't included.

Heh, I'm well aware of the song sans Rock Band (though I understand it is an older song and maybe younger people would need a more modern exposure to it?) but I wasn't sure that this was to Eye of the Tiger because it's just text. In my head it seemed to fit but...I'm REALLY glad there was someone who was both %100 sure and felt amused enough to post it here, so I myself could have my suspicions confirmed.

Very nice wink guys, heh heh.
