Suppose to Banish Black Phantom Players. No idea how to use it. I tryed doing it last night and it simply wouldnt work. This PVP stuff is getting out of hand. I got invaded 18 times easily yesterday and lost 13-15 eyes in the process. Would really like to get this spell to work here.

Actually, this reminds me of a question... I'm assuming that only 1 invader can enter your game at a time. If that assumption is correct, then how quickly can a NEW invader enter your game after getting rid of the current phantom?

But OT, I think if I got invaded and killed like 8 or more times in a short amount of time; I'd be disconneting the PSN for a little while.

I'm pretty sure you have to be standing right next to the Black Phantom to use 'Banish'.

It works similar to the way that you can eject (banish) & revive a Blue Phantom with 'Resurrection'.

With regards to how quick another BP invader could break in; the answer is almost straight away. You try playing either 1-3, 4-1, or 4-2 at primetime, and you're looking at constant invasion!

I have actually never tried to use that spell, but why don't you just continue playing in soul form as then you can't be invaded?. Most people play in soul form all the time, and only revive when going straight for the boss or summoning people to co-op. And if you summon two other players to help you out, then the black phantoms really have all odds against them.

I played for about 6 hours on Saturday. Amusing times were had when for 90 minutes I got summoned by a player in 4-1. He had another Blue Phantom with him, and we just stood at spawn and ganked the black phantoms that invaded. Horrible, nasty, evil, but so incredibly satisfying. Then he dropped a stone of ephemeral eyes for each of us, and sent us back to our own worlds. I got over 400,000 souls from that, and we all S-ranked each other.

The best kills were when we climbed a tree and all got our telescopes out for the black phantom, then jumped down and beat the him into a corner and on the floor with shields wielded in both hands. Hilarious. This game has made me incredibly sadistic.

But yes, the Banish Miracle is incredibly short range, and anyone with any sense will hit you during the windup.

Also, you can only be invaded when you're alive (in body form). The simplest way to avoid Black Phantoms is to stay in soul form for the bits that give you less trouble, and only revive when you really, really need to.

well some things are not properly translated, in the asian version.
just like the Lost Souls you find in the game.
Discription says that "the use of it will turn the user into a Soul", but it should be something like: the user wil GAIN souls ( not turn into one)

so there are some some bad translations and maybe so the Banish Miracle

I despise PVP and I think I will play offline for a while unless I want to coop with someone else. Banish indeed sounds useless at close range when anyone with common sense will just strike you before you even get a chance to use it. It would be wise to have really good defense if you plan to use that.

Pointless, Myron. Attacking interupts spell/miracle casting.

Also, I highly suggest trying the online modes before discounting them; it's not nearly as bad as you might think, when you consider you will almost always have more HP than invaders anyway. In playing offline you also miss out on the blood pools to see how people died and, more importantly, the messages on the ground left by other players.

It's not that the game is unplayable or even un-fun when played offline, but it really does come into its own when you play online.

Indeed I already know this Mooglepies lol. I will play online for a bit to see how it is and if I am not constantly overwhemled by invaders then I will stay online. If all else fails I heard I can just stay in soul mode and no one can invade on me.

It all depends on how long you've been playing to a certain extent. When you start, black phantoms cause you intense fear. Later on, they start to become positive things, as they're a decent challenge and they give an absurdly large amount of souls if you win.

I fully agree with this; BP farming is great fun! Especially in 1-3.

My priest doesn't leave home without the resurrect miracle, that way I can summon 2 helpers willing to slay BPs for good 30 minutes or more and when the party's over, I simply resurrect them.
Nets you lots of souls, catapults your character tendency to pure white and also helps a bit with world tendency. :)

And again not to beat the point to death or anything but you lose to a BP one time you are in soul form and can now not be invaded.... There is really no reason to "fear" BP invasions.
