So I was doing my "monthly" search on gamestop, seeing if any games of interest showed up in the area. Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 popped up near by.

So I headed out and got there, looked around in the used section starting with S for shin but didn't find it, then looked some more and still didn't find it.

Anyways, around this time another guy comes in the store, and I know he's an RPG fan because the games he was pulling from the shelf to look at were all RPGs, and he clearly knew which ones were and weren't. So I got the thought that he might be after the same game, after all this particular gamestop is pretty much known as the 'rare rpg gamestop' around here, but he didn't see anything either.

He walked to another area with more PS2 games, and started looking there. So I thought... Why not look starting with D for Digital. Lo and behold it was right there in front of me the whole time, apparently the case slip is easily missable, which isn't a good thing if you ask me Atlus.

Anyways, I quickly grabbed it, and started looking for the second one which was suppose to be there, but didn't find it and ask the associate. He said it was gone. Anyways, I wanted to test my theory that this guy was looking for it, so I held the case in a way so that if he looked at what I was holding, he'd see it.

Once he looked up to the case I was holding and saw what it was, he sighed a bit and walked right out. lol. There were two other PS2 bins he hasn't looked through yet, so I imagine it was what he was looking for. I'm wondering if the guy was friends with the one who got DDS2 earlier, and maybe told his friend (the one there) that the first game was there too.

Moral of the story, unless you're someone like me who only got into SMT universe a couple years ago and didn't know of the games at the time, is to pick up SMT games as soon as they come out. Once they are gone, they are HARD to find. Granted, you could always pay ebay's insane prices too, which I won't do. I'm more surprised anyone would even sell their copy of these amazing games.

My copy of Nocturne comes in on monday, so I'm wondering. Even though they aren't related should I wait to play this after Nocturne or just go ahead with this?

That's pretty awesome. ;) Mine seems to always have the games in stock, but always for too much, IMO. We don't have many collectors on the island so I see rare stuff all the time. It still amazes me how .hack 1 is like $15 but part 4 is $40 or more! It took me forever to get the whole set.

The only one I've been trying to find is P3:FES, disc only. Everyone I know/copy I see is either sealed or complete. >< I just want the disc.

Yeah, I thought things were a bit weird too. For example, from my understanding the DDS2 is supposedly more rare than the first one, and usually fetches a higher price. However it was cheaper than the first game. Yeah crap doesn't make sense sometimes I guess.

The disc only? You have the case and manual already? I'd like to get a hold of the caseslip and manual for Devil Summoner 1, I hate that it's the only SMT game I have without them. :(

Yeah I've got a mint insert/case and manual. My disc got super scratched, it won't go past the "new game"/"continue" screen. My gf says my PS2 messed it up (its old and due to a really long story it isnt mine and wasnt well taken care of and I got it by mistake) but I think we left it out and it got scratched. Anyone wants them, then I dont mind going to gamestop and grabbing FES for $15 or whatever XD

I almost lost my Devil Summoner manual. Now it just has a small crease down the middle. -phew- It's always a ***** to replace a game that has a sequel, because the price shoots up, which is why Im currently trying to re-buy Magna Carta. I hated it and got rid of it some time ago, now am looking for just the game since I kept the extras.

I'm sorry I've looked and would've made a new topic but I'm not allowed thus why I am asking here. Where should I grind in DDS1 though to get to 99? Terribly sorry for the inconvenience, and would really appreciate a reply. Thank you! (and not in advance b/c I don't like to read-&-run) I'll say it when the time comes. XD <3

The final dungeon is the best place to grind. Towards the end theres an empty space with a heal and save point.. just set up the characters right and youll breeze through the battles there. IIRC, there were 2 spots like that, one was before fighting two big bird bosses, and then there was one towards the end.

I would grind in the Manipura Waterways, right before Beezlebub's fly form boss. I got from 50-64 there in a few hours.

Not even remotely. The Titania hallway in the sewers is the best place to grind. I got from like 40 to max level in about six hours total. Just...make sure you can one-shot the Titanias.

What? you started late at playing SMT? You sure got lucky of getting ahold of the series when you did or you would have spent big bucks trying to get the game luckily I have been getting the SMT games on day one each except for DDS2 which I had to get about four days later due to lack of funds I was extremely lucky to have been allowed to get the soundtrack as well.

Yeah, I never owned a PS2, until I got my PS3. So obviously I couldn't get those games day one. The SMT games I have weren't exactly that hard to find, and never paid a lot for any of them, just been in the right place at the right time.

Never owned a PS2? Well at least you managed to get a BC PS3 to play the game good for you. I too have my 80 GB BC PS3 and man I would be sad if it breaks because Sony stopped putting BC on PS3 a long while ago.

Somewhat shockingly, I was able to pick up both DDS1 + 2 brand new for a combined cost of £11 just before Christmas on Amazon. That has to be one of the biggest gaming bargains I've ever had.

I bough both DDS 1 and 2 sealed for 5 euro each, but my girlfriend had to shell out 30 euro for each one
