THE FANS HAVE SPOKEN; UPCOMING ATLUS BEAT 'EM UP FOR PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) SYSTEM TO BE NAMED KENKA BANCHO: BADASS RUMBLE™
A badass name for a badass game.

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- JULY 15, 2009 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today revealed the name fans and members of the Atlus Faithful (www.atlus.com/faithful) overwhelmingly threw their support behind for the publisher's upcoming Japanese beat 'em up for PSP® system: Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble™.

"The title 'Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble' perfectly suits the gameplay style, attitude, and humor that PSP owners can look forward to when the over-the-top brawler arrives early next year," said Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales for Atlus. "The game is about demonstrating to your rivals that you are the ultimate badass. This is accomplished, unsurprisingly, by burying your fists and feet into the faces and/or guts of your foes. The title was voted in by a 3-to-1 margin, which means that fans strongly felt it was the best fit for the game, or, that they all giggled uncontrollably at the sight of the word 'badass'. Either way, everybody wins, except of course for the titles not chosen."

Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble is scheduled for release in early 2010.

I voted for it to be simply Kenka Bancho, but I'm honestly not surprised in the slightest that "Badass Rumble" got the most votes.

I voted for Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble as well. It leaves enough of the original title for purists and gives the rest something they can actually understand as well

Whatever you think of the revised title, you've got to love Atlus USA for even putting "Badass Rumble" in the title of a game in the first place.

Kid: Oh! It's Kenka Bancho, Badass Rumble.
Mom: ...Damn you rap music!

I don't think my Gamestop is getting this in, since I couldn't pre-order it and it's classified as class C or D, apparently. But then again, they still have new copies of Devil Summoner 2, Class of Heroes, Hammerin' Hero, etc., so they might.

Yeah, this title is going to be quite difficult to get a hold of in a retail location I'm afraid. My GS didn't receive it either and I don't believe it will be in anytime soon (took two months before they ever received CGS). I really should have ordered it, but I find it ridiculous that a store that specializes in video game retail has become so piss poor at carrying niche titles. This was one of the must have titles of the year for me.

I really like and respect the guys that work at my local GS, but this is another reason why I miss old pre-GS EB.

I know some of you really like the material goods, but in case that you end up not being able to find it in retail, it will be available on the PSN store starting tomorrow, I believe.

^That is cool for the people that have the option / means to do so. :/

But I guess as you already mentioned, I want the physical game.
