Don't cheap out on this one. Unlike the sketchy X360 releases this is a fully fledged next generation title that any serious dungeon crawler or adventure gamer will love.
I was actually waiting to see if this would be brought over this year before importing. Thanks Atlus!

I don't expect anyone coming into this topic to argue with you...that's why we're all here, to support a game we're all planning on buying.
Having played the import through a few times I can honestly say it is worth every cent...heck, I'm buying it again to play all over again...and again...and again.

Agreed! This game will be worth every penny in production values, graphics, dungeon crawing, adventure, networking features, etc.

I feel it was very necessary being the 360 is a piece o crap and wouldnt be able to try to run this game on one disc.

Unsure of the size it takes on a Blu-ray disc, but more or less of reality would be that, the 360 controller isn't really made for the combat control scheme :\ Since there is only 2 triggers, and it's moreso meant for racers and shooting games.
Other possible problems are maybe a bit longer load-times? Unsure if theres any or a small mandatory installation for Demon's Souls or not.
and for the length of the game, for Wireless 360 controllers, you'd be eating away a LOT of god damn batteries..... and have to pay for Live Gold membership.
360 is maxed out, sadly, in terms of visuals.....It can't fool anyone otherwise anymore :\ but to bash the 360 isn't necessary in a fanboy'ish point of view/'opinion'.

I was more concerned with the fact that the x360 games weren't really 'next gen' and could easily be done on a PS2/Xbox, but sold at full next gen prices. Just stating that this game really is worth a next gen launch price with its depth, graphics, quality, and networking features.
I'm far from a 'fanboy' as I own both X360 and PS3.

I personally dislike when others say them owning particular consoles 'voids' them of being a fanboy, it's just a very lame excuse, no offense. (Just stop saying that from now on, lol)
Saying things like that 'are' fanboy'ish. Each console that launches always starts with games with bland graphics thats nothing of true 'Next/current gen-quality' like Perfect Dark Zero for 360, or Resistance 1 for PS3? :\ or bad ports like F.E.A.R. for PS3. Each console has its own problems. It's fanboy'ish to literally state or claim that games released on a 360 or PS3 ever had regular Xbox or PS2 quality, as Xbox's max was basically Fable or Halo 2, while PS2 was Shadow of the Colossus, God of War 2 and MGS3. It's fanboy'ish due to it's over-exaggeration of the truth, warped to the degree where one states something easily false by all technical and literal fashions :|
PS3 had it's curse of people saying PS3 had no games for around 2 years full, while same was for 360, was less spoken about. In the end each console starts with a handful of bad launch games until the tech gets figured out more and more.
Saying you're not a fanboy after saying that, is similar to saying: "PS3 has no games, but am not a fanboy, because I own 360 and PS3, so I can 'tell' you that because of that, I am not wrong and speak the truth"... merely its the other way around in turns of biased'ness.
no fanboy statements plz, or LIEESSSS!!!
and no am not a 360 fanboy if that ever may be questioned, by supporting it in some fashion, LOL

I got both consoles and even a Wii. I like em all. Of course the Wii is something different and is not really in the same category as the PS3 and 360 but still it's nice. I got a 360 at launch and I love it. It's a defective piece of hardware that overheat too quickly (Mine died on me two weeks ago for the second time) but the exclusive games appeal more to me than what's on PS3 and that why I just got one. Besides Metal Gear 4, Killzone 2 and Uncharted the rest of the good games are on both consoles so if you own one there's no need to get the other.....well apart from the blu-ray drive to watch movies, which was the first reason I got a PS3 (the second is Demon's Souls) after getting an HDTV.
From Software opted to release Demon's Souls on PS3 but it could've been on 360 also. There's not a single reason why it could not work as both console are nearly identical in power. They each have they're strong points but they're both great systems. The controllers are not so different, put them side by side and you'll see. For the online, well if you don't want to pay then just play the game offline, you can even do that on PS3 so I don't think it would be a problem.
Am I a 360 fanboy....maybe...I play more game on the 360 and I like the online better even if it cost something but that's just me. I still love my PS3 and would not sell it for the world. When people ask me which system they should get, I always point that they're both great systems and that they should try em both to see which controller feels better in they're hands and which one has more games that appels to them (even though the exclusives are somewhat limited as most games come out on all systems). I think there's a place for all consoles and all-in-all it just means more gaming goodness for us.
Now I totally agree that Demon's Souls is worth every penny. Like some people here I own the asian version and it's one of the best game I played recently. Not an easy one but once you get into it, you don't want to stop.

It wouldn't go to 360 for obvious reasons that Sony was involved in publishing it in Japan and etc, I think Sony is holding onto this title, and Sony has a deal with From Software for this as a PS3 Exclusive, Atlus is just continuing on the deal and publishing it to the West, but the exclusivity stays all-round. I wouldn't say 360 and PS3 are equal in terms of power in a fashion, as easily developers are stating(EA said it themselves too) that they've MAXED the 360 out, and are still tinkering to get all of what the PS3 has to offer, but with games like Uncharted 2 coming out?....Jeez....to me, yes, the exclusives on the PS3 are the most attractive and KEY PIECE to PS3's victory of this 'Console War'. In my mind.
People should like the console in the end for the Software, and to me, clearly I see Sony and the PS3 as a victor of the games that most appeal to me, sooooo many games coming out in 2009 and 2010 x.x

The game's not a random dungeon crawler, but it is a dungeon crawler. As for more in-depth information, check out some of the videos. They're narrated by people who know far about this that I do. :)

Ya, same....I had a 60GB PS3, but sold it due to sad personal reasons. Now I'm waiting anxiously for the PS3 Slim, hoping it comes out BEFORE this game is released, which it should be. I'll pick up a PS3 Slim at launch/day 1, and I already placed a pre-order on Demon's Souls Deluxe Edition....

Eh, wasn't your fault.
I would never want to get a refurbished PS3 because I don't know the history behind it with its previous owner(s), just like a used car, I'd be paranoid if its been damaged and I wasn't told? and crap like that, I prefer to get a brand spanking new PS3, thats untouched, perfectly normal and is put into MY hands so I know its been taken care of since Day 1.

I am only suspecting, different starting-stats and different starting equipment, other than that, I'm unsure of the skill system and what each may start off with, or what possible items they start with, like free healing-items and such (Trying to stay spoiler free, though I can't say 'TOO' spoil free from all the videos I've watched) x.x

Knight starts in fluted plate armour with a longsword and a small rapier low luck stat, low magic, faith and will stats. High strength, vitality and endurance.
Templar Knights start with what I think is a lesser form of platemail, a halberd and a talisman (can perform miracles). They have a good faith stat at the start and have the 'Heal' miracle from the start.

I have the Asian version of this game. So far I've spent about 14 hours playing. It is fun, but the difficulty makes it too time consuming for people with normal lives. In short, it's ridiculous and it ruins what could have been a great game. Allow me to explain...
Because you have no option to save your game coupled with all the enemies you've killed coming alive again after you die, it's just asking too much from players time-wise. For example, I'm on the 2nd part of the game and I've spent about 10 hours killing my way up to the boss, dying, then doing it all over again only to die once more. All the 10 hours I've spent doing this is mostly in vain. Most of the souls you get from killing enemies will be spent on herbs you'll buy to replenish your health.
If you are unemployed and want to spend most of the day dying, and redying, and doing the same thing over and over again on the same level, then this game is for you! From Software, are you really serious??
To the posts on the board saying that this game is not too difficult, it's simply not true. This could have been a great game, but it's simply ridiculous and retarded, quite frankly, to expect players to invest an insane amount of time dying, redying, and killing the same enemies over and over again. This truly does take the fun out of the game. You can progress in this game, but the cost is simply too high time-wise. Stay clear away from this game. Hopefully From Software will learn their lesson.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO ANYONE. I WOULD ONLY BUY IT WHEN/IF A PATCH, MOD, OR CHEAT IS AVAILABLE THAT WOULD ALLOW PLAYERS TO SAVE THEIR GAME, OR SOMEHOW NOT BRING FORMERLY KILLED ENEMIES BACK TO LIFE.

I play bullet/enemy-hell shooters on high difficulty all the time (hardcore fan of the genre). High challenge that demands patience, perseverance, and ultimately, skill is something that perhaps a niche set of gamers crave and enjoy.
Its been made quite clear this game isn't for everyone (your anti-advocacy is further proof of that). But personally, I'm used to games that kick my behind until I'm good enough to return the favor. Believe it or not, I can find exponentially greater enjoyment, and ultimately, a greater sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when I know I've risen up to a real challenge, especially if I know nothing was holding my hand along the way.
In short, this game's reputation doesn't faze me at all. It actually makes me want it more. I know it probably sounds a bit masochist but I'm honestly a pretty hardcore gamer in that regard (for the reasons I've just stated).

You'll love this game then: first time playing feels like 1CC-ing a shmup - but more like 1CC-ing a memorizer than a danmaku, if that makes sense.
Look at it like something from Irem; die - memorize why you died - try to do it with more thought and skill next time - Yay, success!

Right up my alley. I utilize training modes in shmups specifically to familiarize myself with patterns and develop strategies. In essence, I am indeed dying, learning/memorizing why, and traversing again with more insight and skill eventually leading to success.

Consider the video walkthroughs this game gets and it's box art and it is fairly clear that it is not "easy" to play. No one who is informed will ever say anything different. This is for people who want a game that challenges them and makes them bring their A game. To me this game will be worth well every cent it costs, in fact I would have payed more and not thought twice about it.
