I chose to have at least three healers (One in Yuzu, Keiskue and Atsuro)
I beat down all the other enemies first, healed up and attacked belder with the main character. And then, mid-battle spoiler: He summoned more demons, so I had to form a human shield around moss. The Cait Siths and Pyro Jacks kept healing him, so I recomend going out of your way with everyone (Except your MC) to block/kill them.

Put the MC with a Mahakala for Might Call and/or a Nalagiri for Double Up will help do more damage. That will let you attack twice with Devil Fuge per turn. Bring some healers with Affection which is the best ranged heal in the game.
The demons he summons mid battle won't attack anyone, they just head straight for the MC. If you can kill Beldr before they reach him, you can ignore them.
Also Dances of any kind are the most effective at taking out normal enemies.

Actually, i beat beldr with devil's fuge, just have a healer in your party, use the yuzu and asurto's teams to kill minions and block the path for beldr to walk down, let him kill the other teams if necessary. u can use devil speed too, just equipe your MC with some good passive skills and you'll be fine

I'm having a problem at this point as well. My MC is 29 and others are 27's. I've attempted this encounter for some hours now and now matter what I do I can't get Beldr beyond 50% of his HP. I've tried several strategies, multiple times each and nothing is really working.
I'm aware people have done this at 20-23, or so they claim. Congrats.
I'm also aware of how to use the game (switching demons, using terrain, etc). If anyone has reasonable advice on how I could improve my attempts or how to improve on what I'm already doing, that would be appreciated.
Every single attempt I've had various problems such as randomly getting crit and someone getting 1 shot, or Beldr moving to go fight an ally and completely wrecking that team, or the additional enemies coming out and jump to heal him to full, and mostly all of that happening at once.
Well, sorry for the long post, but it is getting frustrating and I would really like to continue playing. I've enjoyed the story so far and I'd like to continue, but I don't know if putting 5+ hourse on the first boss fight makes me want to see the next boss and the rest of the story.

I ended up beating him after many (many) attempts like this.
Before even going near Belder I kept all 4 teams together (most of them having a ranged attack) and started taking out the other bad guys. I would take out all the non leaders, and either "drain" magic from the leaders or keep doing battles so that they have no mana, thus no way to heal belder.
From there I put my Hero's part as a guy with double attack and a guy with a ranged attack and went for Belder while the other teams distracted the left over leaders.

Ah I remembered now, when i beat beldr, i had yuzu with a shiisa/yuki, MC with pryo jack/ kikuri-hime, Atsuro with pendragon/ K-Frost, and im not sure if i had a 4th team. Since yuzu had the highest speed, i put her at the front, and when she moved i used shiisa's switch to switch yuzu with mc. Then i used MC to attack one cat seth, and atsuro attack the other. then beldr will come toward the mc and attack him, use devil fuge and hope for an xtra turn and devil's fuge again. that should ahve taken out 1/5 of his life if not xtra turn. The minions will come but they wont charm beldr at first, distract them with atsuro and keeo hitting beldr with devil's fuge on MC. It may take a few tries and you may need to make a few changes in the party, but the over-all plan to to distract minions and enable MC to hit beldr in the first few turns.
p.s. use which ever demons you have now, do not waste time fusing those demons i used, since i lved my demons into the 20s at that point, just use demons you usuallly use and dont go fusing strong one because you need to lv them fo them to learn new skills.
p.p.s. and i beat beldr after maybe 1 or 2 tries.

I am going to try the switch idea, thank you. I saw the skill on a demon but never bothered netting one. I tried distracting several more times, but they seem to just jump to Beldr and heal him. My MC is only hitting Beldr with the Fuge for 100 dmg, plus aggrevate from the start to net me a crit, so I'll hit for another 100 on an extra shot.
The problem I'm having isn't with being damaged, my characters are 27, 28, 28, 30, and their demons are at the least level 25. Wen the other mobs come out I can't control them jumping 8 spaces to heal Beldr, and on top of it Beldr will somehow use Vampire Nest after getting healed. I can last several last several turns out there once I get to Beldr, but I can't stay there all day with all the healing and Beldr randomly moving to attack Yuzu killing her whole party.
But I'm going to keep trying, especially that switch idea which I think is a nice Blitz idea.

When I did this fight, I just didn't defeat a single enemy group. Kill the helpers, but never defeat a team leader. The team leaders won't be able to do much on their own, especially after there mana runs out, and beldr only spawns extra people to replace dead teams, if no whole team is dead, no extra spawns.

hey, that's a good idea, but sometime, your just not that lucky to not k.o. the leader if you'r too strong.
but then again, if you're strong, you can just kill beldr.

Don't move anybody within Beldr's range. You want him to always attack the MC so the MC has more chances to damage Beldr with the Devil's Fuge. Also, don't give the MC party members who have fire weakness as it lets Beldr easily gain extra turns.
You can get the MC next to Beldr on his first turn if you have keisuke or Yuzu do a switch with him and then have flight + animal leg on the MC's minions. Attack a cait sith, and then use your second move to get next to Beldr.
Have one of your other party members devil speed up so the other minions go after him instead of the hero, and have one party member block the Pyro Jack with Basilisks because they're a real pain.

actually i dont see why its really that hard...just grind...grind...and grind alittle more...OR chaos wave evil wave whatever and double up and ur good to go...i just left atsuro and keisuke to deal with the minions...yuzu was just surpport....but whatever goes just goes...i think o_O

Grinding is just a substitute for poor strategy. Some people probably don't want to grind all day.
