View Full Version : A Question about "Battle Graphics"

Okay, I know thats a rather poor title, but it was the only semi-descriptive thing I could think of.

When in battle, sometimes I have what I'd call "normal" battle graphics of slashing, bashing, blowing fire, and whatnot.. and sometimes I have japanese lettering splashed over the top of it instead.
It isn't due to critical hits, as it appears for all characters, and when I have one "style" or the other it stays battle after battle until... well. I haven't actually worked out what causes the switch yet, thats what I'm trying to pinpoint.
Is there some way to toggle between these two that I've missed? (Its certainly not in options anyway), or is there something in particular I've managed to do to trigger one or the other?

I was just curious as it seems a little odd, and the more I play, the more I notice it ^^;

They are basically just onomatopoeia sounds, like SLASH! BANG! SMACK! It appears from certain attacks and when you hit enemies hard.

You're next question will be 'why didn't you change it to English?' to which I would respond 'we have our reasons.' :D

Psht, that wouldn't have been my next question :(
Cheers though :)
I figured that was the type of sound they were, I just wasn't sure why they were appearing. At least now that I can rule out that it was some sort of graphical toggle I was hitting, if its an indicator of sorts, I won't be puzzling over it ^^
I assume that means that if I get them for ages, I'm just lucky enough to be getting streaks, or streaks of affected enemies?

Sorry this post is off topic but as a new member I can't start a new thread...

I was just wondering if Atlus PSP games come with the Official PSP cellophane strip that you 'tear away' ?

I recently bought Hammerin' Hero as to archive and it did not have the PSP 'tear' away strip although it is cellopane sealed...

Any help or answers would be greatly appreciated.

It appears from certain attacks and when you hit enemies hard.

I let my team's affinity get to 102.00 and then did a blaze fist. I'm not sure if this caused the change, or how long it'll last (we got out of that labyrinth, went back in, left it and tried another), but since then I get the sound effects for all attacks: normal attacks with normal damage.

I like them -- but they're a mystery :-)
