I've read about how hard he is in an FAQ. I've tried it once so far just to see God's Breath in action. I haven't seen any videos of him on YouTube, so I'd just like to ask - what's the reward for beating him? Do you get something similar to the Omnipotent Orb in Persona 3, or do you just get a lot of redundant XP, money and AP?

I can't remember exactly but I think that is all you get. And a Soma. There is no Karma Ring or extra Mantra like some of the other optional bosses give you. I guess bragging rights? The hardest part about him is keeping track of his HP. That was a pain.

Yeah. Using a calculator would help, but it would get frustrating. I guess Life Surge is one of the most important skills to have.
Incidentally, ever since I reached level 75 or so, the Omoikanes seem to have stopped appearing. :(

I took on DDS2 on Hard straight from the get-go, so I was looking forward to fighting Satan. I fought him off-and-on for nearly a year, then at 5 am on June 28, I finally killed him.
It was the most difficult fight I've had in an RPG (I've yet to take on the Hitoshura, who will be harder for this reason: Satan follows a distinct and predictable pattern, Hitoshura does not), but to finally finish it through a combination of planning, tactical management, and luck... wow, that was satisfying. I had to stop myself from howling my victory when I landed the finishing blow...
Oh, it's worth it, but only if you're into the "the only worthwhile victory is against a strong opponent" mindset. ;)
