I received my sealed copy of Nocturne today. Played it for a few hours, and am loving it. I got the manual out to try and figure out how the "Half a Turn" system works, and i noticed that it said "Limited Edition Director's Cut" above the SMT logo. Are all copies of Nocturne in North America "Limited Edition Director's Cut"? If not, what is the difference between this and a regular version?

My reprint says that, too. That might be the one thing they forgot to change when making the reprint (the had to change the "Disk One", the soundtrack ad on the back of the box, etc.).

I think the "Limited Edition Director's Cut" makes a reference to the fact that we got the "Maniacs" edition of Nocturne in the States. I think the difference between the Maniacs version and the normal version (which we didn't get) is the fact that Dante is in the game.

They also added all the Riders of the Apocalypse, Matador and Mother Harlot fiends. Also the huge Labirynth or Amala and the True Demon ending. I think...

And the Matador's winning streak continues!

He gets everyone. Not even the final boss can say that.

I'll get the bastard. Got my nullify force Magatama, now trying to fuse a few null force demons :)

Took me two tries to beat him.

Wasn't that bad, once I knew what to expect.

Yup. I beat him on my second try as well. Fused away all my worthless demons, got Uzume, and got the nullify Force magatama. Then, it was pretty easy.

I had to use a guide to beat him, he was alot of trouble. shortly after beating him, there was an "accident" during demon fusion and I received him.

Speaking of which, I can't seem to find that Magatama. They say the junk shop, but I checked Jack Frost's place and it's not there...

It's the junk shop in Ginza Underpass.

Where exactly is that? I tried checking the junk collector guy, but all he talks about is the bill...

Opposite of the save point. Leave the room with the save point, and you should be facing it. Walk through the water to the platform opposite the save point. It's right there.

And that is why you never play Nocturne on Hard mode.

i should start playing this again... I got to the matador part and got royally screwed, then I stopped. I think it was because I just started a new job, and in the hustle of it all I forgot about it.

I fail to see the connection between these two posts.

Because somebody died once, they should never play on Hard mode?

Besides, that hallway's pretty damn nasty in Normal mode, too. Took me two tries and felt worth it at the time (though, in the long run, it probably wasn't).

It definitely made me feel revulsion for Taotie, though... with its snorting, creepy dancing, and casting Megido on everybody...

Going through that hallway is totally "worth it" considering your very close to fighting White Rider in that stage of the game and for me I had to dish out a "ton" of macca for that fight considering that I had to spam "NO, I don't want to fight you" after walking out the labyrinth of amala or save point rather and finally after 13 trys he let me get away to prepare for that fight. But yes having all that macca made my future encounters with bosses much more easier, less stressful and less frustrating. Especially that stupid Girimehkala and Trumpeter encounters BE prepared buy all you can buy! xD
