I enjoyed what FROM and SCEJ brought to the table with their amalgam trailer but this takes the cake. For folks who haven't played the game this is easily one of the best examples of gameplay aside from watching a live stream"

Ya, I'm a member at GT and I was given a headsup at the Game Notifier that another video for Demon's Souls came in, I was sooo happy, I just am continuously afraid that I'll see too many spoilers.....and I really should stop before it's too late T_T but I am so anxious and want to see and learn more

As good as that video is, i'd say avoid it, because it does show a few key moments, enemies, attack patterns etc.
Believe me, not knowing anything about this game is the best part - you never know what's lurking round the next corner!

Ya, I know.....too late though since I watched it, but I did sorta do it sub-consciously? I turned off my brain a little, so, hopefully it didn't burn itself into my memory :(...... I always spoil myself too much in excitement!!! Grrr!!! :frown::frown::frown::frown:

To each, their own. Honestly there's no more spoilers in here than any other trailer you might see for a movie, game or what have you. You don't know the context of the setting, you simply see something and wage a guess as to what it may be. I read up on the game plenty prior to its Japan and Asian release...so much so that I too thought I'd spoil my experience. I can honestly say there is NO WAY I could have spoiled it because actually playing the game and participating in the events are separate from what a trailer tries to depict.

To each their own indeed, usually for me I know I get spoiled because I'll keep re-watching until my mind can fully analyze and understand 'everything' about what I'm seeing, so when I am to run into a boss, an environment, a situation, I'd fully understand and see, or see that my assumptions I make are correct.
And it depends on how much ones considering a spoiler, for me alone, knowing/seeing the bosses to know what any of the bosses look like are a spoiler, except the unavoidable ones shown in the trailer......but I want a good chunk of the bosses or mini-bosses to remain a mystery, it's hard to keep it that way
Biggest spoiling moments for me was with my obsession on MGS2 and MGS3, I rewatched the trailers over and over 50x, and it had plenty of spoilers like MGS3's torture scene when Snake gets his ass kicked, that was gigantic.......

I have a similar problem with Demon's Souls & spoilers: You know the magma pond in 2-2? I hate when that place get's shown in screens or, worse, gameplay vids. I think that place should be experienced first while playing the game as a newbie. But maybe that's just me; I love that place. ^__^
That being said, I made the same "mistake" as sarshelyam before pre-ordering the Asian version: niconico videos & direct gameplay streams galore!
Strangely enough It didn't detract from the experience as much as I thought it would...

well, no i dont know the 2-2 level! I just know theres a lava area! thats it
saying that maybe, to not expect or 'know' or ever see the lava level, could indeed be a spoiler, cause it looks pretty evil-awesome

Alrighty since I can't start my own thread I'll hijinx this thread! I have been trying and trying to convince so many of my friends, about 7 people with PS3 to get this game! NONE of them are getting it! Why? Well.. Same reason I'm not getting it anymore after I was so friggen hyped for this...
The lack of being able to choose to play with a friend is pretty much ridiculous.. I know the Japanese don't have personal friends and all (Joke) but us Northern Americans want to play with our buddies that we know! I dunno can there be a way to release a DLC that lets you play with a friend whenever you want, but makes allt he monsters etc have 30x's the health!? I mean I'd get it then and so would my friends...
But right now none of my friends see a point in getting this over God of War 3 or Dante's Inferno.. Honestly.. I'm not seeing the point right now neither..

Different types of games, Valaska. GoW3 and Dante's Inferno are action in the same vein as Devil May Cry; an emphasis on balletic violence and keeping combo momentum going. They're also singleplayer games exclusively, as far s I can tell. Demon's Souls is a very slowpaced, very tactical Hack & Slash RPG, where the emphasis is on knowing when and how to attack and more importantly knowing when and how NOT to.
I think part of the problem with Demon's Souls is it's being marketed as a fullfledged multiplayer experience where the co-op multiplayer is, in my personal experience, at best supplementary to the singleplayer mode. For a start, the host needs to be alive and the helpers dead to even contemplate multiplayer. The vast majority of the time people spend playing Demon's Souls is spent alone, from the people I've spoken to and even played with. That's not to say you can't or even shouldn't try to play it exclusively multiplayer but that's not where the bulk of the game ends up taking you.
Perhaps that's just a result of me being in a different timezone from the vast majority of the players, but even when I have been on at peak times it's been mostly similar.

Friends wanting to play with friends, and then demanding content from a game so it'd ruin the experience so to speak, sounds like spoiled-brattiness, see it this way, playing with friends is best, getting angry or desperate and demanding or asking for things to change because of it is stupid.
HOWEVER, You 'CAN' go to a specific spot in a level, raise a Summons' thingy on the ground in a place thats unpopulated, tell your friends to go there (Must be within -10 levels of you) and they should be able to join up!
But, seriously, please don't be whiny because the game is as is, Unforgiving, and unhelpful, it's not a flaw, it does it on purpose, and it shouldn't change. Difficulty increasements for having 'friends' on would be odd, but, this isn't Diablo 2! lol

Difficulty already scales in co-op. Just throwing that out there.

My Buddy got it and I made a new char to help him do stonefang, after running him through it I asked him if it was worth it he said no. This game is not meant to be played in co-op. Example 4-2 alone takes many trys first time through to figure out the patterns, hire 2 blue phantoms its a 2minute run through. I dont see why anybody would get this to play with friends.
If your within 10 lvls its extremely easy to play with a buddy by the way. Just got to hope host doesnt get invaded and buddy doesnt get summoned to another host.

False.
What you may think is scaling is just joining another player's game when they might be on a game cycle ahead of yours. For example: if you're doing co-op at level 70 or so in your first playthrough, it is possible to join in someone's game who is on NG+ if they're that far (I was around level 70 when I first got to NG+, however there are many people who wait till they are well in their 100s to move on).

Yeah this is extremely noticable when you near new game++ and are in New game+. Big difference. Had a new game++ char join my new game+ last night and dropped the colossus in one hit. Big difference.

actually, the player probably are within +/- soul level from your character.
the character you are talking about is probably a firestorm mage. if they have Magic 99 and use item to enhance the power of their magic. they should be able to deal roughly 3000-5000 damage per casting. obviously the Dirty Colossus get toasted.

I like teaming up with other players but only if it is to fight monsters and bosses and not invaders.
