A solid 4.0/5 citing that "Class of Heroes is about the gameplay, though, not the story or visuals or sound, and it triumphs magnificently. If Etrian Odyssey showed that English-speaking gamers are willing to dip into the subgenre, Class of Heroes shows that the subgenre can actually be fun, and it is no wonder that the game was so successful in Japan. Finally, an approachable Wizardry clone is available for those turned away by the brutality of Dark Spire and the childish simplicity of Shining in the Darkness. Anyone looking to try out this type of game would be best advised to start here."

From the article:
Pros: Lots of character customization options. Save anywhere. You can have 100 characters. A nice selection of missions to undertake. Interesting alchemy system implemented to create items. Challenging and addicting.
Cons: It is very difficult and earning gold can be tedious. It also can take quite a while to unlock more desirable majors.
Overall Score: Two thumbs up, 90/100, A-, * * * * out of 5

Class of Heroes throws players back to a time when RPGs lacked silly costumes, big anime hair, and self-important cut scenes. Okay, so Class of Heroes still has the silly costumes and big hair. But it also has miles of dungeon-crawling and monster-killing in its purest, most unforgiving form.

RPGFan has posted their review of Class of Heroes. The game scores 72/100.
You can read about it here (http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews/Class_of_Heroes/index.html):
In short, the reviewer of the article concludes:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Class of Heroes manages to complete the job of being an introductory RPG, and it does a couple of things right, but it wasn't much fun. It was a game with potential–but the disappointing class types, bland combat and an underwhelming alchemy system prevented the game from excelling. It can fulfill your PSP dungeon crawling fix, and the length will keep you occupied for a while, but in the end, there are better dungeon crawlers out there that deserve more attention.

Still waiting to hear from gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/psp/rpg/kentomahoutogakuenmono/index.html?tag=result;title;0) before I make my purchase decision.

"There's so much depth to be found in Class of Heroes for fans of the dungeon crawling genre, it's almost overwhelming how much time you can spend playing with the details. On the other hand, the learning curve is much steeper than other games of its kind, and it may turn off gamers who pick it up due to the cute anime look and have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Then again, if you're going for anything with the word Atlus on the cover thinking you're going to get off easy, well, you'll learn fast.
Score: 8.0 "

A solid 4.0/5 citing that "The story is mostly nonexistent, but what little there is glows due to a typically excellent localization from Atlus USA. The side quests, though few, feature hilarious dialogue and scenarios that will make the player wish the source material had more text built in, just so Atlus could showcase its abilities more."
Fixed it for ya, Mac. =)

They are right about the resting mechanics, I disagreed with most of the other negative statements.
IGN is the same site that gave godhand a 3. enough said.

this game isn't hard to find at all. One of your local gamestops is bound to have a copy.
as for the game itself i'd give it about a 8/10
I was very frustrated with it at the start but once I figured out the mechanics I felt I had to explore every inch of every dungeon.
