It looks like Class of Heroes has already shipped and will be available Monday. Gamestop's website lists it as having shipped, and people at the GameFAQs forum have confirmed that Gamestop will be getting it Monday. Perhaps Atlus felt bad about Crimson Gem Saga and KiTN being late ;)

Thank you for the heads up! :D I called my Gamestop just now and they told me to check in about my pre-order around Tuesday the 9th, one day earlier before it was meant to be in the stores. Thank you again for the news, Zborno! :D

did you guys pre-order in store or order through gamestop.com? I ordered through gamestop.com (with in-store pickup) since I could not pre-order through the store. Even though the website says "shipping in 24 hours" for the game, my specific order doesn't say anything about shipping. Do you think MY copy will be in store tomorrow as well or do you think that just applies for people who actually pre-ordered in store?
I have never done anything like ordering online w/ in store delivery so I dont know how long it usually takes. I'm starting to think I would have been better off having it delivered to my house.

Looks like videogamesplus won't send until the 9th.. it's gonna take a few days to arrive in the UK anyway, so that won't change much for me :p

haha, I pretty much stopped with amazon now, since they like to take their sweet lovin' time on shipping things out, and I'm not gonna pay 20 dollars or whatever to get something faster.

Yeah, Gamestop.com's In-Stock feature is showing no copies available within 100 miles of me, either.
I also called around a bit to confirm, and no dice.

Ultimately, the distributor (Gamestop, EB, etc) decides how many units go to which stores. This is based on perceived demand, calculated from the number and location of pre-orders for the title. We have no control over this, but you do! This is why we always ask you to pre-order our games, sometimes going so far to shower you with spoils.
Sounds like you guys live in areas where totally awesome rock-your-boxers dungeon crawling isn't a common past-time. And I suppose you didn't pre-order the game yourselves...
I'm shocked... :( Heart-broken even... :very_sad:

I dont know what time you called around, but I would try calling after noon, maybe around 1pm to give the store time to get their shipment in and process it. My pre-ordered copy had not arrived yesterday, so I am just hoping it will be in today. Game Stop's corporate office swears to me it is available from their stores.
The other thing to be mentioned (which you probably already know but just in case) is that the store searching thing only shows product that was in the system at 8 am, meaning anything added today with the shipment of new product would not be included.
However, like NullPointer says, if you didn't pre-order it, there is definitely a chance that the store will not get any copies :(

Awww...don't be sad. As for being heartbroken, time will mend all maladies. :)
I don't pre-order games anymore. Instead, what I do is wait for game reviews from reputable sources such as gamespot.com and then make my decision based on their reviews. If the game is really polished and fun as the creators claim, then worry not for I will be rushing out the door to pick it up for myself.

This is exactly the sort of tactic I generally use when purchasing games, but I've found Atlus games tend to be on the rare-side (with most games being completely unknown to the GameStop staff ["Glass of Sheera's? I don't see that on our release list..."] :o). I barely got KitN and Dark Spire by the skin of my teeth (and a 45 minute drive to a GameStop on the far west side of Salt Lake), but I completely missed out on Crimson Gem Saga. I'll be pre-ordering my Atlus games from now on. ;)

I TRIED preordering damn it. Hundreds of people were unable to preorder it around the country, as it somehow ended up on the no reserve list. Don't shift the blame on me not preordering, because I went to every store in town and tried. > : ' (
And everytime I DO preorder and am able to, these so called spoils never even show up. ;_;

And is it really that hard to pre-order? I don't think you get charged until it is shipped when doing it online, and doing it in-store at a place like gamestop/eb games is only what like $5 down? (Don't eat lunch for one day, that is what I do, lol) Any Atlus games that I want at release is a must pre-order for me because like everyone else has said, my store may get 0-1, and not to mention I HATE stickers.
EDIT - Try to do it ASAP rather than the day before. I have always received my spoils, and doing it before it leaves the system because of a moved release date means it will still be there when it actually releases.

Hahaha! Funny you mentioned an employee calling the game a weird name! I just woke up awhile ago and asked my store about the game and if it was released today and I guess I was slurring or something on the phone since I just woke up  because the lady workin' there was like, "Crash of...!? Cross of?! Cross of Awesomeness, what kind of game is that?!"
Honestly don't know where the Awesomeness came from. Maybe because I was so excited about the release or something, had a dream maybe, ya'know? :p They didn't have it in today but oh well. I know some stores on the east coast have it in their systems already but I am not mad. I can wait

My local Microplay's manager told me he should get it tomorow along with KitN. (which for some reason they hadn't received yet)
edit : Also, to the above poster, not buying the game greatly reduces the chances of getting its sequel or games in the same genre. :P

It's the total of single sales that make a difference. Think of how many other people pirate PSP games. That's a lot of potential sales lost. It's exactly this kind of mentality that makes PSP piracy so popular.
Manly Biceps

What the Terminator says. If our PSP games start underperforming (despite the number of people we're seeing on the internet claiming the game's awesome, but that they didn't actually buy it.) then we'll stop publishing PSP games. Same goes with any other platform. I don't think this is rocket science.
Being awesome to people doesn't keep the lights in the office on. Being awesome to people and making money for it does keep the lights on.

Piracy Is very dangerous & is like TERRORISM!!!! to the gaming industry.
Manly Biceps
06-09-2009, 03:08 PM
Eh, no need for the extreme Terrorism angle.
But piracy is basically like putting your favorite publisher on the Fail Boat.
Will there be romance? Not like flat out 'H' scenes but like the 'I like you too...' scenes. If so, is this for all characters? Does it affect Affinity?
@Steel
Um...piracy is bad...but it doesn't go into a group of people, yell 'Allah Ackbar!' and kill dozens of people. Piracy is a loss of revenue for game companies, which is bad, but it's not deadly...

Same here, I too even tried bleedin Toys R' Us! A true sign of desperation. I'm more than pissed off, espcially because of Atlus acting like "lol too bad u should have pre-ordered lol' when, like you said, stores didn't have it listed for preorder. Meanies.

I just got back from EB in Calgary. I was told it won't be available until the 16th or so
I just pre-ordered it, just to ensure I'd have a copy. I don't really believe in pre-ordering anymore... I used to, but pre-ordering MMOs burned me bad, and I no longer wish to enable developers and publishers to push out half-assed games to pad up pre-orders :(
DarkWizard
06-10-2009, 03:14 PM
I got the same response, pushed back till the 16th, which doesn't surprise me in the least bit, considering small titles like this tends to get pushed back for some reason. But there seems to be an extreme shortage of this game even in the US, as seen by posts in other forums, members claiming the nearest copy is in the next city or state over...

Shikoku, naturally I wasn't meaning to put the blame on you guys, and I'm certainly not 'lol-ing' because I'd love for you to get a copy of the game. But ultimately, the game distributors decide how many they are going to stock. A couple hundred of pre-orders makes a big difference.
I think that when the game isn't offered for pre-order in-store, you can go to gamestop.com and pre-order it there. I'm not 100% positive on that, but might be worth a shot for the future.
As for scoring a copy, you're best shot at this point is probably online. Might I suggest giving Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Class-Heroes-Sony-PSP/dp/B001Q933P8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1244676509&sr=8-1) a shot?

Oh man, what a nightmare. The employee at Gamestop didn't even call me about my pre-order of Class of Heroes and luckily for me, I called him. It was late in the day too. He told me he would hold it for me. I was thinking, wait minute? Aren't they suppose to hold it for me in the first place since it was right to assume that that only copy was my pre-order which meant if I didn't "buy" it from them, they might have charged me that 5 dollar shipping fee(ya'know, if you don't pick up the order within 48 hours and so on) to my debit card since I didn't buy the game and my order was in their system.
Ugh. Glad I got there semi-early too. The dude was about to open it up and put it on display. No joke! I won't be holding a grudge though and will still be pre-ordering Atlus PSP games from em' because well... I believe it helps promote the game(and similar ones as well) especially if I order it from GS/EB since they are so widespread in my area(Maybe a different GS/EB this time, ha ha). I am just glad I got this game before they opened/sold it.

I'm only 2 hours into it, but so far I'm extremely happy with the game. I'm diggin' the art design and graphics (over say, Etrian Odyssey 2), the variety of race/class combinations, the combat, the magic... I could go on.
I read all of the Atlus blog entries, impressions from RPGamer, etc, etc, so I already knew about these things, but reading about it and hoping it works out, and actually playing it and seeing how well things gel are two separate things.
Love it. :)

I live in Atlanta, and we have probably 30 gamestops in the metro area. We have a grand total of ONE that got CoH, and it was 35 miles away from me.
Not wanting to make that drive, and not wanting to wait 2 days to ship it, I called the local "Play N Trade" and happily discovered that they had TWO copies. Go figure. Always nice to not be giving money to Gamestop.
This was the first thing I have actually bought from a play n trade, but if they actually stock niche (i.e. Atlus) titles, then I will gladly go back.
So far, I'm enjoying the game although the difficulty at the start was a little concerning.
