Hmmmm... will they leave Circle button as the "Accept" key? I wouldn't mind that.

Also... I haven't played the original Persona since... at least 2000, but I don't remember having battles on the world map. Maybe it was a particular situation or something. Loading times seem pretty bad...

^There were always battles on the world map.

No, Sony US's standard is to have X as "Accept." The version on display at E3 was just too early for the switch to be made.

When that guy talked about voice acting, was he referring to the battle grunts, voices, or will there be full on voice acting in the US version?

Something in between. The new animated cutscenes that appear here and there will have voice acting, and of course the battle cries have been redubbed, but the regular conversations are just as they've always been.

It irrationally annoys me how they always change that when games get brought over. I play a fair amount of imports, too, so I have way too many moments of switching games and then jamming on the wrong button. sigh.

Ah, so that's why some US games played with the Circle button as "Accept". I was kinda wondering that, when I played DDS2, as I saw a japanese trailer where it seemed to be different.

To be fair, Sony just followed in line. This all started with Nintendo in 1990. Possibly before that, too, but that's what I know.

Actually, Nintendo uses the same layout that Sony Japan uses. On Nintendo consoles (including in the US) A is accept, B cancel, which are in the position of circle and X, respectively. Nintendo started using this on the NES, where you only had a Dpad, select, start, A, and B.

This screws me up every time I go from a PSP game to a DS game. Then I bought Devil Summoner for the PSP.

This will be a must-buy for me, as much as I hate pre-ordering this will be an exception.

Actually JeffX is correct during SNES era NOA did start the B as accept and A as cancel (this was on RPGs). But probably because most non-Japanese made games at that time used the same standards.
