Checked Amazon earlier since my order hadn't shipped yet, and the date now says June 4th. Did something happen?

Its an estimate, not an exact date ;)
So either they're quite happy for their estimate to be wrong... or they already factored a possible delay into the estimate.

Checked my order and mine hasn't changed, but my shipping estimate was always the 8th and my delivery estimate always the 15th-19th, so they already had a fair bit of time factored in :P

I think this is Atlus not mailing out games fast enough for them to be reach retail shelves on release date. Most Atlus games seem to wind up in this situation.

I'm not sure what stores you go to, but every game I preorder from GS is niche. Atlus games are the ONLY games I can't seem to get the day after the ship date. Happen last week with Crimson Gem Saga, and will likely happen this week with Knights...

Even tho I am almost positive this won't be in until tomorrow, give the store 3-4 hours of being open before asking about a newly released game. They have to receive shipping and add it to the inventory before it will come up.

While I am just as anxious as everyone else to get my hands on the game, I know that I will eventually get it. However, I've heard that Amazon, where i pre-ordered, doesn't know when they will get the game or if they will get any art books to give out to those of us who pre ordered the game. I'd kind of like to know whether or not i should cancel the preorder and just grab the game at gamestop tomorrow. Assuming they have it by then, of course.

I think it's definitely coming out tomorrow if you pre-ordered from Gamestop. I went to the one where I reserved it, and they said that it would be coming in tomorrow.

Also... I wasn't allowed to get the artbook. They said they can only give it when you get the game. Maybe it's just that Gamestop but I'm not complaining. At least I know they won't be handing out my pre-order bonus willy-nilly to random people. I trust him too cuz he was the manager and he was pretty nice about it. :]

It doesn't look like any stores got it in today. All of the Atlus games I've preordered in the past were available on the Wednesday after they shipped, including the last two (Persona 4 and Devil Summoner 2). Now, we've had two games in a row (Crimson Gem Saga and KiTN) that didn't arrive on time. I hope Atlus gets it together soon so we don't have to wait on Class of Heroes and Devil Survivor.

Well, when I went to pick up my copy today they said that it's either been pushed back or cancelled(!). So, I tried calling Atlus to figure out what was going on, but I can't get ahold of a human being.

Yup yup, so that's a sign that it SHOULD be in GS tomorrow. But I wouldn't bombard them right when they open, they need time to put it into their system.

Ahem! I also pre-order from Amazon only just to get the artbook. If I didn't want it that badly I could of just gotten it from Game Crazy(said they aren't getting it). I looked it up in the system at Gamestop when I went to work, and it is scheduled to be in the shipments tomorrow. Most Gamestops get their shipments around noon, and it takes time to get the stuff processed. I pray that Devil Survivor and Class of Heroes are on time...

Huh... I just checked the Gamestop website, and yes I realize that they aren't open yet so it won't show that the game is in stores but if you try to order it online it says it's backordered (is this even a word?) again.

Guess it's a good thing I pre-ordered my copy? You know other than getting the artbook.

Okay, well for one thing -- GameStop's website only updates in-store inventory at about 8am. That means that if the store gets their shipment around noon, it is not going to show up online until tomorrow morning when the online inventory updates again. Therefore, I would recommend calling the store around noon to see if it came in.

Secondly, I have not seen Game Stop's website say anything about the game being on backorder since late yesterday. Even now, it still says in stock and that it ships whithin 24 hours both on the main screen and if you order it.

Amazon.com, however, says that it is backordered and that it will not ship until 6/6. I would assume that the pre-orders are shipping today and that new orders will have to wait to be restocked on 6/6.

Okay, found a Game Stop employee who was actually willing to go open the shipment they had gotten in. Got the book even though i didn't pre-order. All of the stores in my area only got 1 copy (at least out of the 5 I called). But I am happy to have my game and I'm ready to play!! (Thank goodness I can play my DS at my job :tongue:)

I agree. I'm not complaining that I got one in this method from my local GS, but I would be a bit miffed had I preordered.

Got my copy today. Been playing it a little bit and...

SWEET BABY JESUS THAT'S A LOT OF TUTORIALS.

First there's the "First Steps", then the "Tutorials", then the "Tips"...

All in all, like 70+ help files. >_> Took me a while to get through them all.

Played the first few levels and I've already restarted twice to accomodate stuff I learned. So far, so good. I have a feeling the translation is a bit boffed, though, cuz some of the sentences are uh... off.

I believe that Gamestop receives more bonuses than the number of actual preorders by customers. It's not uncommon for a gamestop to have older preorder bonuses lying around in excess. As for my local gamestop, they had a stack of 12 or so artbooks and I doubt there were that many preorders for Knights in the Nightmare especially considering that mock KitN boxes werent even out for display while they were taking preorders. In fact, the girl working at the time let me pick out whichever artbook I thought was in the best condition.

As for the delay, I was told by the manager that the game was "technically" not delayed. Atlus had shipped them on the correct day, but they had used ground shipping to get the games to Gamestop's distribution centers, which then had to overnight ship them to local Gamestops. Maybe someone from Atlus can confirm this.

I just broke and bought a copy (w/ the art book thank the departed gods!) from gamestop (which I normally never do!) even though I already pre-ordered 3 from Amazon, because it says it shipped out the night of the 2nd but is still sitting somewhere in Indiana! You don't have to go through the tutorials first. I just did the "First Steps" tutorials (10 of them) and then started playing the main game.

The only way our games are released in Europe is if the publishers IN Europe decide to license it. I suggest getting in touch with European publishers who have optioned our games in the past to bug them about bringing Knights overseas.

There is no definitive answer, they're bought across by various companies, although Rising Star seems to be the 'main' one atm.
So far, to my knowledge, Atlus DS games have been bought across by;
Nintendo of Europe (http://www.nintendo-europe.com/) - Etrian Odyssey, Trauma Centre.
505 (http://505games.com/) - Deep Labyrinth, Izuna.
Rising Star (http://www.risingstargames.com/) - Contact, Dungeon Maker (Master of the Monster Lair), Luminous Arc, Luminous Arc 2 ("Coming Soon" (http://www.risingstargames.com/games/luminous-arc-2-nds.html)... amazon has an october release listed), My World My Way (Autumn 2009 (http://www.risingstargames.com/games/my-world-my-way-nds.html)), Steal Princess (also Autumn 2009 (http://www.risingstargames.com/games/steal-princess-nds.html)).

For what its worth, 505 also had Riviera for the PSP.
