Just finished watching 3:10 to Yuma. I don't normally care for westerns, but I got this movie because I needed something to make use of the 7.1 set-up I just put together. I fell alseep on it last night, but got around to watching the end just now, and that's where it really shines. The final shoot out looked and sounded very cool, and the ending was up to par, kind of sad, and surprising... Sucks I paid $30 for the disc, but at least the movie was over rated.

Watched Justice League: The New Frontier, at a buddy's house. Never been a huge fan of the cartoon series, but it was a really good movie, did a great job of showing how the Justice League was formed IMO.
Also watched the 4 episodes of the DMC anime that comes with the LE of DMC4. It was alright, although if you had taken out Dante, Trish and Lady, you wouldn't be able to tell that this was part of the DMC world.
Just saw "The Invasion" and "Across the Universe"
They are both so good imo! :P

FINALLY done with the first season of Six Feet Under. Way too much homo stuff going on, I understand that they try to make it out to be a serious issue, but I don't need to see guys making out every other episode. Wish I had bought lost when you could find it for $30, no my cheap ass will have to wait for it to go on sale again before jumping into another TV series...

Fortunately for me, the one theater in the Detroit area playing it happened to be only 25 minutes away. Unfortuately, we got their at the last minute and had to sit in the front row. Cloverfield's camera didn't bother me in the least, but watching this movie in the front row gave me a headache.
People rag on this movie for doing the whole Cloverfield camera thing (although this movie went into production before Cloverfield.) However, DotD made more clever use of the camera IMO.
I don't know if it was because of the fact that the characters holding the camera were actually film students or because they were running away from trudging zombies instead of a 600 foot monster, but the camera felt alot more stable throughout the movie. The students used two cameras to film the events (which they actually state at the beginning, including what models they were.)
This wasn't some BS government hacked footage. The students filmed and edited these events specifically so they could upload it on the internet for others to see and use to survive (at one point during the movie, you watch them edit the footage and upload it on Myspace, which is getting huge hits.) The way they would switch between the cameras was kind of cool, sometimes they would take footage from surviellance cameras too.
Some parts were pretty comical too (Amish deaf guy.) But otherwise, I never really grew attached to the characters, I don't even think the characters were attached to each other either, Cloverfield's cast did a better job of displaying emotion when a loved one died.
Most of the time, the characters were traveling through the Country, so zombie encounters were minimal and never grew larger than a couple dozen or so. It didn't really feel like the movie was that long either, the characters didn't really have a specific goal set (basically reunite the female lead with her family, then meet up with a friend in his mansion.)
I guess you have to keep in mind that this movie is set just as the zombie outbreak occurs and doesn't go for more than a few days. TV broadcasts are still going on and internet access is still available (people are still around to check it anyway.) The movie ends at a rather awkward point and felt kind of rushed.
Long story short. Avoid this movie if your not a zombie fan, if you are, wait for a rental. Despite all that, I don't regret going out of my way to go see it.

Both are awesome, and both have their differences.
Glen Ford wasn't even close to as cool and badass as Russel Crowe was as Ben Wade...while Christian Bale was even more pussy than Van Helfin... But, what made the new one better for me, personally, was Peter Fonda and Ben Foster. When they were on screen, my TV sparkled.

Go kill yourself! Seriously there are so many small things in that movie.
1. The Iceman Cometh - This is a play Eugene O'Niell, where people who stay at Skit Road Hotel, await the main character. There waiting because he always brings money for them all. However when he comes back he is a changed man. This is also true in Blades of Glory when Micheals and McCaroy give up figure skating then come back in pairs changed people
2. Every Napoleon Dynamite fan will recognize everyone of Jimmy McCaroy's improve moves as one of Napoleon dance moves.
3. It has Jenna Fisher. She plays Pam in "The Office"
4. The humor is just good
5. The 85% of the stunts in that movie are actually done by Heder and Ferrell.
6.I wish I could dance like that choreographer

Gymkata -
Amazing movie to watch with friends while drinking a cold beer or three.
It's a movie from 1985 that has a real Olympic gymnastics dude playing the role of, well, a 3 time Olympic gymnastic dude who is recruited by the US government to learn karate so he can infiltrate a country and compete in a deadly game.
Over the top stupidity was used in the filming of this movie, so yes a lot of group laughter happens. Watch out!
Do not watch this movie by yourself or sober. Sober watching this movie would be a bad thing.

High Tension:
While I knew a twist was going to happen, I still liked it when it did. Most suspense movies have a twist, it's what makes them fun. Sure we can sit there and guess away and sometimes be right...
Anyways, I didn't try to guess the twist, I just enjoyed the slasher flick for what it was.
Also the shower scene was nice as was the 15 seconds later self masturbation by the lead female chick.
I give it a minimum of 3 stars on the netflix scale, maybe 4...

Okay so I watched a few DVDs while my internet was down this weekend.
Wire in the Blood Season 2: watched discs 1,2 & 3. The second season the episodes are longer (1 hr 25 min) and each episode is on one disc (lame, easily could have put two episodes on one disc). With that said, this season has been as much fun to watch as Season 1. I enjoy the main characters psychoanalysis of each killers mind. I burned through each disc quite quickly. 4 out of 5 stars (good TV entertainment value).
Lust, Caution: Good foreign film (Chinese) that has a good pace for a long movie (2 and a half hours), but was needed as it was telling a great story. I really did enjoy this film and also rate it a 4 out of 5. By the way, for those that are interested this is done by the same director that did Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (please note that this is not a kungfu flick).
The Octagon: I can't find me making mention of watching this movie last week. It's an hour and a half long Chuck Norris film that only featured him kicking ass in 7 minutes and 17 seconds of the film. The rest of the film was filled with low budget, bad acting and directing. I was entertained occasionally enough that I did rate it 2 stars out of 5 as I didn't complete dread watching it.

You make me sad to hear your negative thoughts and feelings! Why does a movie always have to explain everything? I loved the movie AI Artificial Intelligence UNTIL they started to explain everything and made the movie honky dory.
If they had just STOPPED the movie 1 hour 90 minutes in, it would have been a good movie. Instead in ran for another hour or something and was just total bull####.
ANYWAYS:
Just finished Hard Eight. I really liked it. Had a good pace and was a good story. Also they didn't try to explain EVERYTHING! :)

Samuel L Jackson is in the movie. One time he was at the craps table and asked for his money to go on 'hard eight' and then he said "HARD EIGHT, JUST LIKE ME!"

Went to see "Superhero Movie" with the GF. All I can say is, I'm glad she paid for it.
Now I just need to pop in Deathrace 2000 to set things right.

Finished:
Shallow Grave -
Netflix synopsis;
Ewan McGregor stars in this grimly comic tale of three roommates who find their enigmatic new flatmate dead in his room with a stash of drugs and a suitcase full of cash. What will they do with all that money -- and the corpse? Things get even more twisted as drug dealers and the cops start snooping around. Directed by Danny Boyle, this pitch-perfect dark comedy also stars Christopher Eccleston, Kerry Fox and Ken Stott.
I liked it, was an entertaining movie at the end and had a good pace throughout the film. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars on the Netflix scale.

The extended cut is the way it was actually intended for German television. Great movie.

Just finished watching Hard Candy... crazy movie, but I actually did want him to kill the girl, movies were the man are utterly pathetic piss me off, even if he was a pedobear...
Anyway it looked surprisingly well for such a low budget DVD.

Isn't that the show about the daughter and her overly interested mother? If so, goddamn that #### is gay.

overly interested daughter?
I dont know what that means, but it was actually a decent show. Just ended badly. It was canceled when the WB and UPN merged so the final season just kind of threw together the story at the end. It had a full season, it just wasnt picked up for another.
