So anyone else want goodies with this game, maybe even a collectors edition release? :)
Suggestions:
- Soundtrack CD (containing the 2 ending tunes, intro, boss, nexus songs)
- Book with Artwork
- Slipcover
- Strategy Guide (I would even buy it separately if it was avaible in English)
- Reversible cover with alternative artwork
Something would be cool, as an extra incentive for fans double dipping :D

I doubt Atlus would ever do a collectors edition, considering a collectors edition would require another SKU, which in the end would just end up costing them more rather than just doing spoils with the regular version.
I'm guessing it'll either be a soundtrack or an artbook. It's a bit somewhat rare that it's anything outside of that two if you ask me.

Yea I guess a separate SKU would be excessive. Some kind of first print or pre-order extras would be nice though. Kinda like how Nippon Ichi included a soundtrack with the first print with some game :)

Well Atlus does that with practically every game they release these days, even DS games, so that's certainly not out of the question.

Of course, Atlus has a spoils program, which is something that is definitely heavily japanese influenced (after all it is a japanese company). American publishers are too damn cheap to do anything like that, it's all about pleasing their investors.

Well, I wouldn't mind if they would include a localized Demon's Souls Perfect Guidebook with the game or as pre-order bonus (-_^)
Would me tempt so much more to buy this game a second time.

Yeah, that's not going to happen...
If a guide does get released there's no way it would be merely a free bonus. Perhaps DoubleJump will do one separately though.

I think a soundtrack would be really nice, but I'm happy either way if it comes with a bonus or not.

The fact that the game is coming out at all officially in NA should be 'spoils' enough for PS3 owners, imo.
Beggar can't be choosers, and in this case, when what a publisher gives you is a treat treat as nice as this, you don't bite, question or even blink at the hand that feeds you.
If anything, real (eventual) fans of this game should ask for a follow-up game. >:p

I would happily pay extra for the bonus stuff, but maybe that's just me :). There is no point in asking Atlus for a sequel, they did not make the game

This reminds me of another adage: "The hardcore gamer is never satisfied."

I never mentioned or even implied that about Atlus. >:p

I too would love to see a soundtrack, sampler or otherwise. The music (when there is any) is lovely and ambient. Very nice stuff here.
The Book and artwork, well...I'm not sure there's enough published concept work here but I would love to see more of the main character art that is shown during transitions from the Nexus to the worlds and back. I never felt like I saw them all and really wanted more. Perhaps attaching this to some brief history on the character we meet would be nice because they all sound fantastic and I STILL haven't met them all in my New Game +++
Slipcover, agreed...I love when games have this especially if it has some embossed features or metallic printing. Would be nice, certainly, but not required.
Pretty sure the contact I met at the ATLUS booth at E3 last week stated there would be one but they hadn't finalized the details. There is a Perfect Guide overseas and it's rather huge. With the amount of item drops, weapon customization and hidden goodies throughout, this would almost seem a no-brainer. Hopefully they nab someone good to do it up well, a hardcover edition with the art would be nice too!
I've always loved the idea of reversible covers, however, the potency of the current artwork is rather powerful wouldn't you say? I don't think I could choose a single other scenario for the cover that exudes a sense of despair...something you'll feel almost instantly after you enter the Tutorial.
That said, those HOME items and costumes really need localization pronto. If I have to pay for them, so be it, but I think ATLUS Faithfuls should at least get one as a Spoils incentive for preordering. Come on ATLUS, you know we love you...so love us back...a little more than you already do! ;)

I was considering importing this game (since the Asian version is in English) until I heard that Atlus USA was going to release it. I'm just happy I don't have to pay the premium for an import, and have another excuse to support Atlus USA this year.
I'd really like to see DoubleJump get a chance to do the guide for this (hopefully stores would be willing to stock a guide for this so they could do a normal print guide). Too many games have been getting through without a decent print guide lately.

A character/bestiary book would be cool too since I don't think even the wiki has the correct names for each enemy.

I don't know about a collector's edition, but this is one game I wouldn't mind reserving to get early access to a demo...

You can't really do a demo for this game. It takes much time to really understand the mechanic of the game, realize you're going to die...plenty of times...and come to grips with the fact it's challenging. A demo would only be a disservice to the title.

Thats true...a demo wouldnt work. Too many variables.
Soundtrack would always be nice.

Yea, I agree that a DJ guide would be fire or BG. A soundtrack would be hawt, but I thought there was barely any music in the game?
Personally, I'd rather have them clean up the translation (keeping it as faith as possble) , if they can even touch the code then I'd like for the shadowing to be fix and the textures to be tweaked a bit to rise the res on a lot of them, also work on the AI, to fix the exploits with the arrows and make them even harder ahhah!
While, I'm at it no pause button is fine, voice chat and run it thru a debug 100 times and boom release! Something tells me none of this will happen outside of the translation and a debugging. So chea! Hook me up with some free.99 stuff!

^^ Actually the game has more music than you would think, it is just that it is not constantly playing. A song for each boss, intro, 2 different endings, 2 songs in the Nexus, 2 songs during narration. So there should be plenty to fill a CD :)

I'd be happy with an artbook... :o
Artbook plus soundtrack, even better...

I'd also be happy with just an artbook, I'm a sucker for those. I REALLY hope ATLUS advertises this game a lot. It saddens me that ATLUS games and quite a few RPGs on the PS3 dont get much advertisement. Like Valkyria Chronicles, it's a great game but didnt sell well; Disgaea 3, it's another great RPG but didn't sell well.
