Question about online

Would it be region locked or would we be able to play with people that bought the asian version?

It's pretty much 50/50 because plenty of US games have worldwide online too. Only time will tell... Hope to get to play with you all :D

The online shouldn't be locked. I got destroyed by some guy from Japan the other day, so as long as Atlus doesn't change it we should have region free online. And since there would be no language barrier as there aren't any chat options, I don't see why they would take it away unless they plan to add them.

Region locking would kill the multiplayer in this game since you are limited to summoning people close to your soul level that are at the same point as you are in whichever world you are in.

But on the bright side, no more teleporting players backstabbing you out of nowhere.

And since there would be no language barrier as there aren't any chat options, I don't see why they would take it away unless they plan to add them.So far I've played with nothing but Japanese people, and I have summoned/been summoned quite a lot. I'm not complaining though and it doesn't really matter anyway, though I hope we will be able play with the people who get the US version, since there would be more people online.

Only downside is, as was mentioned, the lag. PvP can be a real challenge, now, myself being in the US, though it should be going both ways, so it evens out in the end. I will not be buying the "new" version either way, I have a soul level 220 character in new game+++ currently (advancing rapidly through godlike effort), and I spent $85 and two and a half months to import it, so I am just a little too heavily invested.

Due to player numbers and the fact that I would love to be able to play with the new NA people on the new release, I sincerely hope it does not have region locked online, or that if it does, it is grouped by console and not software region, if possible.

I doubt that it will be region locked but we will see.

I also have an imported copy and hope that I dont have to buy the US release if I dont have to.
